Hmmm, so anyone want to cop to watching this? Care to share thoughts? Does it fall into any of the below categories:

Misogynist crap
Trainwreck tv
Fun entertainment or
"OMG that's totally me"?

1, 2 and 3...I can't say 4 because I am happily married for almost 8 years, but if I wasn't I would probably claim all of the above LOL....it is a guilty pleasure. I was appalled to see Arian's photshoot that she thought was Sexy...when your ******** is hanging out...that is just ****** not Sexy...although guys like ****** too...for a 1 night stand you know, LOL. Have you been to the VH1 message boards?? Taylor and Arian are all over it posting to defend thierselves. well actually I think that Taylor is just there sticking her fingers in her ears singing "lalalalalaalalalalalal" but Arian seems pretty cool to be honest.
I like this show, it is very interesting to see how men really react to a woman.

Maybe I will have to go check out the boards... I watch it for the train wreck factor. But sometimes he actually gives them good advice to get these girls out of their comfort zones and to see what they are doing wrong.

I think he def gives good advice. Taylor is a complete mess. Does anyone else think she looks like Chyna?
She is one of the girls that I think needs a good scrubbing! Too much makeup, too much ego, just too much!
Yea I'm not the only watching it then! My first thought was that it was sexist crap, especially with the whole "sexy" photoshoot thing but in watching it I do think there are some redeeming qualities about the show. The fact that it's not a competition format like other shows interested me because it makes me feel like they are actually trying to help these women. Don't get me wrong I'm not naive enough not to know that they are still bleeding them of as many on camera trainwreck antics as possible of course. Also I think Steven and the male panels show that ************ isn't necessarily what men are looking for. I like that they fix them up on dates and its about finding connections with people vs. trying to manipulate and pull as many guys as possible (like with that d----ebag Mystery). I think a lot of people, including myself, have friends or know people that are like each one of those females. I am bothered by the fact that the panels haven't been very diverse though. An example being their reactions to Abiola. Beyond the cupcakes and the weird 11 year old princess tiara thing which is bizarre - I think she's pretty and alot of guys I know would definitely agree but it seems like she gets trashed a lot in "physical" challenges. Though I don't necessarily buy that she intentionally put on weight to keep guys away from her, maybe she did. . .or maybe she just can't put down the cupcakes. Also Steven's rule about "don't be weird" I think is bull, I like Stasha (yes she can turn down the 'I will crush you between my thighs thing') and instead of trying to make her less weird he should be trying to hook her up with someone who's into that, there are plenty of guys that are. If you try to make yourself into something you're not just to have a relationship, it's doomed to fail. I think I can in a way relate to Natasha and Jody the most, though Jody strikes me as that friend that always sucks the energy out of you because you have to spend so much time pumping up her self esteem. I actually like Arian, she just needs to get off the ho train. I'm sympathetic to Taylor's background but I still thinks just needs to be real and admit she's a trashy gold digger. . .and not even a very good one because not a lot of guys that do actually have money are going to marry someone that acts like her. But maybe she has a future as someone's kept mistress. I agree with Jody, get your own s--t together and then you won't have to worry about finding a rich man to take care of you. So far I'm finding it more entertainment than anything else because alot of the advice he gives is pretty common sense but I like it.
What gets me about Taylor was her talking lip about Stasha's butt tattoo when she has that big hidous thing on her stomach to hide all the stretch marks she has. In her Bio she hays her Step father is rich and gives her anything she wants which makes me wonder why she couldn't raise her own child and she claims she lived ina car with the baby. I think it is a load of bull and she just didn't want a kid to hinder her partying/gold digging, I know that is a mean thing to say but it is the impression she gives off.

Unless the Stepdad came into the picture after the baby, it is seeming more and more like she didn''t want to ruin her social life.

Haven't officially gotten into it but I am sure I will. That's how I started out with Tool Academy. I have too many shows I am watching. Duel 2( is coming), ILM, ROL, DOL (soon), Ray J, 90210, Taking the stage, The Game, plus my internship and school. I'm sure I'll watch when they have a marathon on.
Arian's name bothers me.
Yeah me tooo it makes me think if the dreaded K K K at least it isn't spelled Aryan.
Yeah me tooo it makes me think if the dreaded K K K at least it isn't spelled Aryan.
Yeah, but still, it's pronounced the same. What were her parents thinking? LoL Then again, we also have a contestant whose name rhymes a female naughty part (I'm looking at you Abiola). *sigh*

*sigh*
I KNOW!!!! what were HER parents thinking? at least Arian doesn't have a brother named Adolf Hitler...that we know of anyway like that 1 kid who ended up all over the TV for a Rite Aid refusing to address a Bday cake "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler" and the a few weeks later for being taken away from thier parents...all 3 kids had "racist" names.

The parents were like "How can we be racists when we have kids of all colors come over for his bday party?" Okay, but then why would you say you named your kids Adolf Hitler and Aryan Nation because you wanted to pay tribute to your heritage and beliefs? Because those are pretty powerful names to give your children, it is obvious you are trying to make a statement. Such hate. I think Arian was leaning more towards "Ari-anne" but with the accent it comes closer to aryan. Kinda like Ariane on the last Top Chef.
I assumed Arian was her stripper name, not her birth name. She was pretty skanky last night but I didn't like Steve's comment about her getting raped. I understand what he was saying about her putting herself in dangerous situations but rape isn't about the victim it's about the rapist and no matter what someone does it never gives someone else to right to rape them. To be honest though, based on the way Arian responded, I think she's already been sexually assaulted at some point in her life. It would explain alot. I'm interested to see whether Steve is going to bring Stasha's love interest to the house to test whether they have a legitimate connection. Also I'm glad the blonde girl is connecting with someone but everytime I look at her, I can hear her biological clock ticking through the television. I feel like she's already practiced writing her name with his last name. Jody I understand her feeling put on the spot but the way she flipped out was just crazy I was like "and that's why you're alone. . ." it was nice that Taylor of all people was the one to step up to the plate and see how she was doing. It was a really quick turn around for Taylor though, almost like "miracle of editing/I just realized I'm on tv" turn around. But I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now and say she really benefitting from the "boot camp".
Yeah I got the same impression but I have to say that with the way Arian was acting would have made her a predators dream...she could be talking to one man about how she can suck a mean d*** and the man behind her who just so happens to be a sexual predator could hear this and decide that he is going to wait for his oppurtunity and swoop in and if she doesn't intercept that then he will just make her do what she brags she does so well. I didn't see it as him telling her she is going to be raped, I saw it more as him telling her that her behavior is going to blow up in her face one day and it won't be pretty...he used several examples and rape was just one of them...and it also happened to be the one that set her off so easily so yeah I agree that she has been through way more than she is letting on. And yeah I was very impressed with Taylor through the entire episode...I think telling all the girls about her child has opened her up to learning a little bit from everyone there.
Yeah I see what you're saying it just for whatever reason really rubbed me the wrong way. I think because people tend to view rape as being a sexual act but it's not about sex, it's about power, it's an act of violence and dominance and to in any way suggest that someone was asking for it is to mitigate culpability of the rapist. However I certainly do agree that there are ways in which women/people can be smarter about protecting themselves and not ending up in dangerous situations that could've been prevented. Arian definitely sets her self up for dangerous situations (as does Cookie from bad girls club) I thought that was a point Arian needed to hear it just maybe could've been delievered differently. Semantics maybe but that word "rape" it's such a big word.

Uh huh. And to be fair I do think he appeared to try to cushion it as much as possible and probably was annoyed that she was laughing like an idiot and didn't get that the situation wasn't funny. I think he chose his wording with the goal of having a particular impact, to really shock her and make her think about what she is giving off. I think it was clearly that ultimately he wanted to help her definitely not hurt her or make her feel like s--t. I would've liked to see what the guys feedback was on a sidenote. And yes the editing was choppy which leaves room for a lot of stuff in the lead up to that, that we didn't see. . .I long for the pre-vevmo days where I took everything on these shows at face value. :rip:

Yeah I would think "oh that's weird that someone changed clothes 3 times during what is suposed to look like a 10 minute conversation" hahaha. But I never thought storylines were outright manufactured. For some bizarre reason despite life, watching the news constantly, and lawschool I still manage to have this oddly pollyannaish outlook about a lot of things. I want to give people the benefit of the doubt and tend to want to accept what they offer on the surface, I work with people with criminal records everyday and sometimes I am still shocked as hell when they outright lie to my face about stuff hahaha. I'm like "but why would you do that?" lol. Yeah vevmo has definitely made me notice the tale tell signs of "reality" television editing though.
What really gets me is how she is acting on these shows compared to how she is acting on the message boards...I think we still have a lot of growth yet to come for her.
What really gets me is how she is acting on these shows compared to how she is acting on the message boards...I think we still have a lot of growth yet to come for her.
Hmm how does she act now? I haven't seen any of the message boards.
Hmm how does she act now? I haven't seen any of the message boards.
I scrolled through them for a while the other day and she acts very mature...while Taylor acts like a 2 year old, LOL.

I really like Arian (sp?), but she really was acting ******. I think "what's-his-face" was completely right. If you say those nasty things to men you don't know, bad things can happen. Of course, it's not justified. It's just not a good idea to act that way. Either way, it's not classy. I REALLY hope she learns something.
Do you know any of these girls V1?
Thankfully, no... But I do know the people who did the casting...and they talk sometimes.
