A Series of Unfortunate Events - Netflix

After the loss of their parents in a mysterious fire, the three Baudelaire children face trials and tribulations attempting to uncover dark family secrets.

I've been sooooo ready for this.

OMFG! I forgot this was coming out this weekend. I'm crying! Now idk what I'd rather do.

I wonder how far this season is gonna go. Like, I think I saw some stuff from the hostile hospital. I just hope they give each book enough screen time. Is it gonna be only 1 season with each book getting an episode or two?

UGH my weekend is shot.

It came out today. I'm assuming theirs gonna be more than one season.

I believe it is 8 episodes with 2 episodes per book...so it's through the Miserable Mill. I did see they already got a pick up for a second season though which will do books 5-9, and given it's been getting great reviews it's unlikely they'll get 2/3 through the series and stop.

Apparently every two episodes is one book, and I think it just got renewed for a 10-episode season. So we're probably gonna see like 3 seasons at most.

So is this worth watching? I've seen it has gotten great reviews but the Jim Carrey movie never wowed me (I haven't seen it in forever so it could change).

Thank god! How long is each episode? (Sorry, my computer is still packed away and I don't feel like getting it out.) I wonder who they'll get to play Esme.

NPH looks closer to what I envisioned Olaf to look like. I think this series is gonna blow that Jim Carrey shit out the water. I've been waiting YEARS for this series. Ahhhhhh excite.

******* watch it.

I'm about to watch it now that I'm off work. Y'all tripping though I loved Jim Carry as Olaf but he wasn't.... threatening to me idk.

each episode is roughly 50 minutes. the first episode i had mixed emotions about, but by the end of the second (the end of the bad beginning) i am now completely invested. It is so true to the books and they have even added an additional storyline of what the VFD is up to while the Beaudelaire's story is happening (which i kinda like!!). I am in love with it! NPH still isn't my favourite as Olaf, but by the end of the first book, i think he's finding a better footing with the character.

Also so happy it got picked up for season 2 covering books 5-9!!!

My childhood has returned.

Mitch I'm in tears! I'm so happy it's true to the books. Really interested to see that additional storyline.

Judging solely on the trailer, Olaf's troupe looks amazing and exactly how I imagined. Are all the casting choices spot on like that?

Daniel Handler is the executive producer!

aside from Olaf himself, his troupe is PERFECT. I still gotta warm up to NPH as the count, but he's doing a fine job. Strauss was really well casted as well. And Poe is still annoying as ever.

I liked jude law a lot more as lemony than patrick warburton.. but he also is doing a fine job.

So many emotions. This series was a huge part of my childhood. I wished I hadn't gotten out of the reading for fun outlook and finished the series. I'm wandering if they'll keep the series going by incorporating original stories like a lot of other tv adaptations?

I enjoyed the first episode. Particularly the last few minutes. NPH is whatever as Count Olaf, I'm sure he'll grow on me though. Love Violet ❤

you should finish them! the last few were some of the best ones!! (grim grotto, penultimate peril, carnivorous carnival, the end)

thats what I heard so I'll deff have to take a look!

YESSSSS. Starting this today after work. This was my childhood. Just hope I like NPH as Olaf (he's a good actor but wouldn't have been my choice)

just finished it!!! so sad it's over... it truly was everything I'd hoped for and more. They really get the books right and it is such a faithful adaption... great decision on their part to dedicate each book with two episodes. I can't wait for season 2!!! The song at the end was so perfect haha Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) is a genius

I just watched the first episode and they got the kids SO right. I love Violet, that actress plays her perfectly. Olaf is meh but growing on me. The troupe is wonderful.
