Riverdale

A subversive take on Archie and his friends, exploring small town life, the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale's wholesome facade.

I loved the premiere!!! It's clear the show knows what it wants to be, and that is a suburban Gossip Girl divided by Sweet Valley High raised to the power of Twin Peaks. It’s dark, it’s weird, and, most importantly, it’s entertaining as hell. It's also a classic satire of the teen soap genre, practically spelling out the archetype of each main character, while also fully embracing it. The PLL/Twin Peaks murder mystery is such a perfect way to start this type of show... on one hand you have the cheesy drama/sex-filled Pretty Little Liars feel to it, and on the other it's a complete wonky mystery with just enough oddball characters in the small quaint town of Riverdale to give it that dark humour of Twin Peaks.

Also love that they are including many more characters from the comic books series (Josie & the Pussycats, and Sabrina Spellman later on in the season (so i've heard))

Check it out!! Airing on The CW - Thursday's @ 9pm & streaming on Netflix Canada every Friday

Hmmm seems good and if it's on CW it has my support I may watch

Don't recognize anyone on the cast but  I do see some cuties

No way Nathalie Boltt is in this !?. Although many hated it I loved Doomsday she kicked *** in that movie!!.

Omfg the premiere was so good, Archie was a bit dull and the whole student/teacher having sex storyline is played out, but everything else I loved.

Aside from their superhero shows I tend to avoid teen shows like this produced by the CW. The reboots they attempted to do with Melrose Place and 90210 were both an absolute mess for the most part and the characters end up all being unlikeable.

give it a shot! the reviews are pretty positive for this one.

Absolute mess but it lasted 5 years....and its not a reboot but in continuity with Bh90210/models inc/ogmelrose etc

Archie is definitely a dull main character... but my god he is ******* hot lol I guess there's a lot of teen soaps that have boring hot guys that all the girls fight over (Dawson on Dawson's Creek, Nate Archibald on GG, etc). Hopefully he comes into his own throughout the season.

The cinematography on this is amazing, that opening with the Blossom twins was stunning.

Whether it's considered a reboot or continuity both still flopped but the new Melrose Place never made it pass one season. They made both casts unlikeable and almost everyone slept with each other and they did crazy foul shit like Adrianna messing with Silver's bipolar medicine was crazy and they still made up.

This show was awful, but I'all keep watching. I love Betty, surprisingly. She's cute. Also, Archie is so damn dull. He had no chemistry with anyone.

How were they unlikeable or were you expecting Dylan/Andrea/Brandon 2.0

Teddy and ivy were the only horrendous one and Naomi got shit done right

Naomi eventually became the only likeable one at the end and Ivy in my opinion. Everyone else was just unlikeable overall because they were either cry babies or psychos. The original 90210 knew how to separate it's good guys from the villains plus the people who were kind of in between. Like I said in my opinion it was just a overall tragic cast.

Jokes? Their "star" characters were God awful. Annie took first place, then Silver. Adrianna was more likeable and then they turned her into a venomous *****.

Oh and writing Silver as a victim even though she messed around with her best friends boyfriend, hmmmm.

Hnnnnng that dark haired chick

i wonder if the show will release a music album by the end of the season featuring Josie & The Pussycats and Archie

I just heard from folks at work that this is a wannabe Degrassi

This show is awful, but the mystery aspect keeps me going. Also, I love Betty.
