I honestly don't know what the show is supposed to be or what people expect out of it anymore lmao I feel like this is one of the very last REAL reality shows left but people have gotten spoiled from BGC (another one of the real ones but it's consistent fighting) & then all the "reality" shit like Love & Hip Hop/Basketball Wives/Real Housewives. The only thing I think they could've done better was put them in Atlanta, Houston or a more party-going city. This cast had no business in Seattle of all places.
I feel like people expect it to be what it was from the beginning..about a group of people who are real and go through real things and don't just party and **** each other all day. People want real issues and shit like that to be at the forefront. But what people don't get is that this show is not gonna be what it was in the 90's. It hasn't been like that for the LONGEST time now. Modern-Day Real World is just another reality show centered around drama and bullshit and that won't change. But I do think that what you said about BGC has merit though..people got used to the constant fighting and drama of BGC and Real-Houswife type shows and now only want that shit 24/7. Granted RTV is built around drama but it doesn't need to be a wall-to-all shitstorm.
But see I don't think a lot of viewers in this day & age even want that. You see what people have said when race + other issues (Kassius & his issues surrounding fatherhood for example) were brought to the forefront for both last season & this one....keeping it 100; people don't want to see real shit on TV anymore unless they're outright beating the shit out of each other or some situationship bullshit. People found the 7 strangers format boring & people now find the twists boring so I don't know what direction the show needs to take lmaooo
The castmembers nowadays who only care about ******************** bullshit are more of a reflection on society than anything else.....society would need to change for this show to change again & that's not happening lol

They really don't. I mean like you said last season there were real issues with Chris walking away from the religion that he was tied too. The Whole Jenna situation and Ceejai dealing with the loss of her parents and such. Like I said people just want Wall-to-Wall fights.
But I don't think it's the twist themselves though: Ex-plosion and Skeletons did well with the twists. I think like you said they don't really promote this show and try to get it out there..They act like they just don't give a **** about it and that's stupid given MTV is like on a HUGE decline now. They can't afford to be putting one of their longest running shows on the backburner especially when it's tied to the challenge and they probably want to keep that going as well.
I think if the Real World goes then The Challenge is going to have to go at some point as well given the two shows are connected and they can't just keep constantly doing Fresh Meat-Type seasons. They're gonna need a feeder show.

"The season is ruined! Why does everything always has to be about race! Everyone is bullying Jenna/Mike!" meanwhile race relations are THE biggest topic in society at the moment.....
"Kassius talks too much about his issues & missing his son! Why doesn't he just go home?" I mean because it's clearly wrong for a man to miss his child but not want to miss a chance he would've never gotten otherwise at the same time....
People don't want to talk about or see real shit...they LOVE the meaningless hookups, they LOVE the tired storyline of Exes or the *********** getting the girl but treating her like shit but she's going to go back to him anyway OMG relationship goals!!1, they LOVE the pointless nothing such as whatever Katrina/Anna & Peter/Jenn are supposed to have going on.... I mean real issues aren't what people want but nobody's watching all this other shit either lmaooo.
I think the RV thing the Bad Blood did was dope for obvious reasons. If RW ever does die, they can always bring back the Red-Headed Stepchild lol

I gotta admit I'm guilty of saying that about Kass tho lol.
Yeah..People don't seem to want real and there's nothing wrong with that but let's not sit here and act like they want the show to be what it was in the 90's because if it still was it probably wouldn't be on still.
But yeah..I think just what it comes down to is that MTV just need better shows. Shit that people will actually WATCH. They had it with Jersey Shore...That show was a ******* FORCE and it did wonders for MTV but that couldn't have went on forever and it didn't. Ever since then they have basically nothing going for them. All the shows they use to have back in the day..Punk'd, Cribs, **** My Ride etc shit that got people watching MTV..they don't have anything must-see anymore and until they get that MTV is just going to continue to fail IMO.
That's not even a legitimate argument, sexual attraction isn't a social construct it's a natural reaction to what you want but okay.
This comment doesn't even make sense nor does it have anything to do with the original question you asked. However, this is getting off topic so I'm ending this conversation because I don't see what it has to do with this season.
MTV's last golden year for reality TV in my opinion was 2010. Real World and The Challenge were both relevant plus you had Jersey Shore, The Hills, Teen Mom, and 16 & Pregnant which were all getting millions of viewers. You also had True Life, Cribs, Made, and Sweet 16 which were doing decent and gave you something to watch during the day. Now the network has been taken over by Teen Mom and Ridiculousness which are both redundant at this point.

Yeah they should bring back a show that was cancelled twice over terrible ratings during a time MTV was still relevant to help save a channel that is dead lmaooo
People really been talking about the challenges getting cancelled since Inferno 3 and Real World Denver lmao. I doubt it'll happen. MTV is just a shitty network that nobody watches.
Highly doubt VH1 would pick it up, if it get cancel its a Viacom decision and both channels are own by Viacom.
They picked up ANTM, anything is possible at this point.
ANTM originally didnt air in a viacom channel, CW is own 50% by Cbs corporation and 50% Warner brothers. Viacom didnt have to do with at all.
Viacom owns both MTV and VH1, if one of their show gets cancelled is because Viacom decide it to get it cancelled...So the chances of another viacom own channel to pick it up are really low or close to none since they were the ones that cancelled on the first place.
According to the person that spoiled me the city to this season before filming even started, which is not a cast member but a worker for it.
As of 2 weeks ago real world future was still up in the air and wasnt looking as bright as we assummed (things could have changed sinxe then). While there is alread talks for a possible season 6 of ayto (they were deciding tondonanother one or not) and another dating show. Then again this info is 2 weeks old.

From what I got, they want to film another challenge season before they begin casting/filming for the real world. Who knows though, I remember hearing the same around Skeletons.
I mean, the show is doing decent for having barely no promotion at all. All the new shows have bombed and is not like the other shows that outrate it, outrate it by much.

It's still possible. They are owned by the same company but different people are running each network. It wouldn't be considered officially cancelled but they could have a meeting and decide to switch which network to air the show and if it was rebranded on VH1 I think it would have a better success rate. Even if VH1 didn't pick it up it's Bunim Murray's show and depending on how much of the rights they still have towards it they can pitch it to other networks as well. I just don't see anyone fully letting the show die due to it's history.
do they still want to keep the challenge going? if RW gets cancelled hopefully they keep the challenge going and get rookies from ayto or cast 2-3 brand new people every season
they need to purge some the executives who decide what programming is on mtv and whose in charge of the promotion. they honestly promoted rivals 3 harder on MTV Classics than they did on MTV. That being said, Rivals 3 got a ton more promotion than bad blood. bad blood def needs more promotion and they should be airing repeats of it instead of ridiculousness and teen mom all day long.
i can see them being iffy on the real worlds future, but I think they are cool with the challenge
do they still want to keep the challenge going? if RW gets cancelled hopefully they keep the challenge going and get rookies from ayto or cast 2-3 brand new people every season
In my opinion The Challenge without Real World would be a mess and you'd get maybe two or three seasons when it's gone.
maybe they could cut down on rw. like have it every 2 years or something so that way you can have like 2 challenges between RW seasons
That's a bad idea. I think Real World needs to be promoted while The Challenge is airing and incorporated into the reunion as well.
I can agree with this. my first time watching anything from Bunim Murray was Rivals 2 right after graduating high school. when that season ended i was confused as all get out as to how the challenge worked, where the people came from, etc. that would have been a good time promoting Real World season 29.

I want to audition next season so I pray to god they don't cancel it.
Did that million dollar on an island show ever film?
Someone on here told me it did.

However I wish I was Tyara aka the star of the show #Tyonce
