I think he's the typical hick guy that we really don't need more of. That archetype never impresses me
In my opinion hes wayyy different than the "typical hick archetype" of a Hunter type of person, i think him being Ivy-League Educated (cornell i think) while being seemingly athletic/in shape makes him to be someone to watch for IF he comes back for more seasons. Could def see him becoming a well-rounded competitor
also curious who else you think are "typical hick guys" the only ones in recent years i can really think of are Hunter and to an extent Tony (and its been long since weve seen both)

I see him being a threat in future seasons. He is gonna have amazing social game, and he seems to be a good competitor.

EXACTLY kvm totally agreed! This show also has not had a "hick" type in a long time since hunter #1 and #2 i wouldnt even say Ed is remotely a hick - hes from the suburbs of Philly and is Ivy League educated, his accent is really just a very stereotypical Philly-esque accent

Okay so I only know Gus from The Challenge but he had zero personality and was an idiot. I don't understand this at all. Ed's not even from the south or the country. I respect not liking him because no one has to like anyone but there's nothing from his time on the show so far that says hick, dumb or cringy. I saw the rap video which is a different story but that's not from the show.

The majority of viewers are loving him he is by far the rookie getting the most love. I personally didn't saw him getting ask back but now I can see production looking at the love he is getting to put him on again.

Casting a lot of Americans like him would have done the ratings right rather than going with international players as the big get when thats been the hook since war of the worlds 1. There have been so few American rookies over the last 5 years that have been relatable or funny.
Give me less people who have not been not been on a true competiiton show before and more Eds. Yes his was a competition but it wasnt like a Survivor, Race, or Big Brother where they are not playing as their true selves for the sake of the game. Poker faces are not entertaining tv and we need less Kyle and Devins that are always thinking about what would make good tv when the camera is on them or a preplanned line in an interview.
