The Challenge: Seasons Synopsis

The return of Veronica, Syrus & Ibis & KA making it to the end helped to elevate it.

Once Wes was eliminated that season went downhill quick. The thing I don't like about that season is that there were SO MANY DQ's and no replacements. Had there been replacements the final would've been so much better. The drama was great though. Susie slaying was great as well haha she should've thrown the final to split the money with KA and Sarah. That would've been bad ***.

True. It was refreshing to see them.

God, I wished Kellyanne and Sarah won! It would've been the perfect ending. However, I loved that Susie and Derrick got their win.

If Darrell would've kept his cool, he would've won and we would have gotten to see what a real five-time champ looked like. #NoShade

There was so much wrong with The Ruins it's rediculous. And the sad thing about it is it really could've been a good challenge but after episode 1 all that potential just went right down the drain. I mean so much was wrong with this season it's rediculous..

-JEK's shitty domination

-Lopsided teams

-Drama that was either angering, sad, or depressing to watch.

-Negative, Miserable feel of the whole thing

-JEKDS winning.

-The Champions vs Challengers theme(I think this really should've been Old School vs New School and it could've been had they've been able to get more old-schoolers).

Literrally the only good thing about this season is the format in itself, The Missions and Eliminations.

Overrall this was one of the worst challenges that was ever produced.

Nothing wrong with Derrick and Susie winning. Serious problem with Johnny and Evan winning. Kenny is eh.

This was another season in which every winner was a ******* in my opinion.

I have to disagree on Derrick.  Sure he teamed up with *******s but it was his best shot at winning.

Don't do Susie like that

Veronica was right, Derrick is a coward.  He lost all my respect when he alligned with the ********.  And Susie was such a horrid, condescending *****.  I wish Ev had slugged her.

I also notice that in the Reuinion of The Ruins, KATIE defended Veronica, when Evan and Johanna put the blame of V. That's some crazy ish.

She would've never been able to. You can't beat the undefeated Wink

I'll give Derrick a pass because he had(or was about to) have a family so he probably wanted the best path to winning he could get and that unfortunately was with JEK. That was about money in his pocket that he could use to take care of his family.

Because Katie knows what trash JEK was & how they tormented Tonya to get her to that point.

Indeed.

Good point.

Exactly.

Actually Derrick and his wife were expecting their son when Derrick was filming The Island.  By the time The Ruins was filmed, the kid was probably about a year old or more.  There's nothing wrong with him wanting to win for his family but I was more on his side in that regard on The Island.  If someone needs to win a challenge in order to support their family, perhaps they should think about getting a more steady job.  I've only known of Derrick doing podcasts and I don't know if he gets paid for those.

I'm not giving Derrick a pass, regardless of his family  .  He was not the guy I rooted for on Sexes 2 or Gauntlet 2. He lost so much integrity when he aligned with thoselosers.  He was strong enough to start a counter-alliance if he wanted.

The Ruins had potential to be one of the best challenges ever. I remember reading the cast list on Vevmo and being excited because so many of my favorites were coming back. The drama was great in the first half but it got boring after Wes got eliminated. The competition was just terrible. The challengers really messed up by keeping Casey over Brianna when that was their one and only chance to get rid of Casey. It was definitely one of the dumbest decisions in Challenge history because that move affected them throughout the season when they kept losing missions. The cast also seemed miserable on that season and we rarely saw any of the fun times that they shared. It was way more entertaining than the last four seasons (Inferno 3, Gauntlet 3, The Island, The Duel II) though.

Who was he going to align with, exactly? And when has he ever shown that he has leadership qualities? I think you're being way too hard on him.

I hated that Derrick aligned with JEK but I guess it was a smart decision because he ended up winning with them. I think it's impressive how he won three challenges in a row after being on a five challenge losing streak.

He & Wes could have rallied Syrus, Katie, Veronica, Ev, Ibis & Tonya & they would have had the numbers on their side.

Right, I said this a few weeks ago on the generic thread! Wish this could've happened but Derrick was friends with JEK since he won The Inferno 3 with Kenny and The Island with Johnny/Kenny so he was probably afraid to turn his back on them.

Or he would rather win with his friends than randomly turn his back on them for no good reason.

Well yeah but Derrick is best friends with Katie and could've went on her side. Plus, he was good friends with Darrell, Ibis, Tonya, Veronica and Syrus before he met JEK so he could have made another alliance. He won with JEK at the end so he made a smart decision to align with those guys. I still think he could've won without them though.

Well Derrick isn't one to ruffle feathers so he's the last person to count on to make a counter alliance haha

He was also spineless.  He knew Veronica was stronger than Ibis & Johanna, yet he went along with the morons & tossed her into elimination.  JEK wanted to keep Ibis & Johanna because they know they were stupid enough to listen to whatever they said.  A  strong woman like V was a threat to them.
