I personally think they should just do a Fresh Meat 3 or a Bloodlines 2... that would solve the rookie problem.. and we can cast from the US. Idk why they stopped at Fresh Meat 2 when Fresh Meat has brought some of the greatest challengers ever... Kenny, Evan, Evelyn, Diem, Laurel, Cara, Theresa.. all Fresh meat.

FM2 basically got us Laurel Cara Mandi and Theresa.   Not a single guy.   The first Fresh Meat worked for the guys and they're pretty much all hated.

And Carley, Mandi, Sydney!

Carley Sydney and Sandy were all good as well but they never returned.   I mentioned Mandi though I'm sure she's widely hated or at least people are indifferent about her

Didn't MTV try getting hot Pete Connolly so many times?

I thought just Cutthroat and when he dropped they lost his number

Pete needs to be on AS4.

I know Cutthroat for sure.. but I thought they asked him other times as well. Pete would have been good...

Ugh I know.

the casting pool is fine they just need to pick better from where they're going to. if a reality tv or dating show with 20 somethings airs and has a fanbase someone from the show should be casted.

revamping dead shows nobody but 5 people on Vevmo want to watch won't help.

The only reason there is a challenge is because of the real world. If treated right the real world definitely could be revamped correctly so it may did become a dead show in the later seasons but there's ways to restore its glory same with AYTO. There's plenty hot young adults who would kill to be on TV and hookup in a mansion

Big Brother Canada having no one on the Challenge is pretty dumb, internationally the Love Island UK people are generally good choices, and unless Netflix is holding them hostage their reality tv dating shows have vocal fans, The Ultimatum cast had one boy who'd name i can't remember but he was gold.

young, hot, diverse and most of all current should be the priority.

They should do a season on paramount plus that is like 75 percent fans 25 percent recruits that are 21-25 years old. All fresh meat that haven't been on a reality show. Only like 24 cast members like all stars, about 10 episodes, film for a month. The prize would only need to be like 250k and people would still do it. Take the good ones from there and put them on the main show

I do agree that The Real World should come back.. and Road Rules.. and AYTO and the majority of people on the challenge should be cast from those shows.

I feel like The Real World died long before it died.  Everyone has cellphones and spends their lives on social media.  It was great watching people 18-23ish go to a new city, live with strangers that they didn't have much in common with and try to build relationships. Or just vanish like Kevin or Kelley. It can't work today. At least not successfully.

i see your point it's just dating shows are the wave now, even low hanging fruit like the shows Zeus Network has generate more conversation than a Real World would. no one wants to see 7 strangers keeping it "real" and talking abc level politics while working at a bar in 2022.

AYTO definitely could come back maybe on a streaming service but not MTV

i think that's the same reason why they can't find young people to carry on the show and become the new regulars. reality tv isn't the jackpot it is anymore. it's fun doing it for a little bit but no one wants to make it a full career when you can make more money off of just social media alone

With Twitter, TikTok, Youtube there's so much easily accessible discourse to chew on....you blink and some 15 year old kid in Tennessee has started a conversation the entire internet is in on and rinse and repeat the next week.

we don't need reality tv shows to start those conversations which was a key part of Real Worlds charm.

I'm not going to quote that long as paragraph from Deeper but YES. Nothing but facts! The biggest issue for me is putting myself in their shoes, I feel so bad knowing that they probably didn't even know exactly what they were getting into and struggle to keep up with the language Sad that's so frustrating.

That's true.....some Instagram influencers make more than doctors do

I find it disgusting.

If you can budget your money right a influencer career can set you up more than a reality tv career. Molly Mae is the perfect example as to how to use reality tv. She won't ever have to work another day in her life or do another show

No backstories No English No thoughts just vibes with this cast because the charm with the challenge was seeing people you knew

Then on top of that the beauty was seeing the rookies come in with people on the same show so they automatically had a connection with someone in the group whereas nowadays they throw a rookie from Japan in the house with no one there for them to rely on or communicate with.

tbh whether or not a rookie makes a good fit for the show is kinda just a random hit or miss thing. it depends on the format they're given, if they have a partner that brings out a more entertaining side of them, or if they're given a cast that's argumentative. put a rookie in one season and they might be 10x more entertaining then if you were to put that rookie on a different season with a different format/cast. take melissa for example, she was extermely entertaining on her first 2 seasons but not as much when she was put on a season where the format allowed her to fly under the radar easily which lead to little to no confrontation, along with it being a more 'freindly' cast. (that being said melissa still delivered with her fight with josh)

No one cares about road rules or real world in 2022. Didnt they try to revamp real world on facebook and it bombed not to mention people wont keep it real bc they will be cancelled. Also the politics and gay issues are no longer taboo or mindblowing for tv anymore either. And as for road rules wasnt there a thread on vevmo over a year ago where it was said to be revamped and still no word of it. It was always the ugly stepsister of real world when it was in its prime and no one will really care about it now. Just keep casting from cbs shows, and fox and abc shows too. There's plenty of american shows to cast from. Stop casting that many internationals who no one knows about and from random *** shows no one has seen.

Need an elim soon feels like they have been trying to get rolling since Christmas lol

moral of the story is reality tv is kind of just slowly dying and there's not much anyone can do about it. (unless you're one of the weirdos who like that popular Circle show on netflix which is one of the cringiest shows ive ever seen in my life)

I think part of the problem was they tried the international thing and CBS.  They should have just done one or the other.  Theo, Georgia, Turbo Dee and Bear had some success so they falsely believe they're going to duplicate that hoping they won't be problematic but, as we saw with Emy, they will be because of the cultural differences for starters.

imagine waiting since autumn of 2021 to finally get on the show you were promised to be on and you get eliminated first

A MESS

I feel like Survivor is still successful but other than that I agree--it's dying
