Agree with this to a point. For example, Dirty 30 was a great season imo but the finalists/winners were absolute garbage. Still was a way more entertaining season than some seasons with good winners
i can agree to a half and half, Survivor has the problem of decent season trash winner or a not that exciting season but interesting winner.
i think it does help if you have a different and interesting conclusion. especially a show like this where we actually know things. i'm just not watching a full season of something knowing the same person won it back to back and that person is a bore lol

ideally we'd have a WOTW1 situation with a great season and a great winner/most finalists. But if I had to pick between a shitty season with a great winner or a great season with a shitty winner, I think I'd probably lean towards the latter. I mean the point of the show is entertainment. As much as I want my faves to win, I'd rather them put on a great show and lose lol.
I'll put it in Survivor terms since you mentioned Survivor. I think Boston Rob is hands-down the casual fan fave. But most Survivor fans will still admit that Redemption Island was the worst dumpster fire Survivor season ever, despite him winning.

Liv drenching Mechie is good tv....now I get why they didn't show it because of Liv's unfortunate situation but that was good drama.
