lol I hate intros on any show. I'm happy if they just show the title card and get straight into the show. but I do miss the old intros on this show, the ones they had to actually film
Survivor intros are not the same anyways when they used to show their name with their slow motion face. Now they skip all of that.
I'm glad they didn't do the forced intros were they are waving their hand at their partners. But I'm happy the rating are up but I know this off topic but the Real Housewives of NY are killing it. ✌

Yes! I remember the BOTSexes intro. If it weren't for their intro, I wouldn't know who Genesis was.
That Intro was honestly one of the best ones that was ever produced. It was so fun and summer-esque. Very fitting for the season.
Maybe people would know who Jenna was if they did that now.

That is one of the best Challenge seasons ever imo. For those who haven't seen it I highly recommend you do so. Emily B was the original Queen of politics.

Truth. That season(and Battle of the Seasons 1) is like the gold standard of this show and what every challenge season should aspire to be IMO.

That and inferno ii (surprise, surprise) with the cheesy bad *** car scene were my favorites.
I know MTV viewership is down as a whole from the glory days. My question is what happened to those viewers who used to tune into The Challenge? Were they people who only watched MTV for Jersey Shore and other shows or did they just get older and stop caring about reality tv?

I think both with a mix of how much technology has advanced. There are other ways now that you can watch MTV on including their own live stream and on demand. By what I heard they also look at those plattaforms.

MTV gets their money both ways through people watching live and people recording that show the same day. Including the constant download of their app, which is not that bad.
PR is right about live viewership. Sporting events are like the only thing that people really make a point of tuning into live as shown by the ratings. That being said, even ESPN is suffering from lack of live viewership. They have lost something like $800 million in revenue in the last 2-3 years because people are trending towards a la carte viewership like netflix and apple tv.

Speaking as one of "those people"...the show declined, the cast became stale and competition seems to be lacking. I haven't watched a second of this season. I checked wiki to see what was going on and there's been 3 eliminations through 7 episodes. The Inferno gave us 2 competitions and an elimination within an hour. The drama was primarily about the game not people just looking for air time (okay, Beth but she was great at it). When Veronica walked away before G2 things started to decline and, it has continued ever since. The Ruins gave me hope then...
I've moved on and that's okay. MTV wants a different demographic. Good luck to them.

No real sports fan is watching anything on delay--you watch live or you don't watch. The thought that anyone would even ask if they show a rerun of a sporting event is horrifying.
Honestly the Intro's have sucked ever since Rivals 1...Excluding Seasons 2.
I loved the seasons 2 intro. My favorite of all time actually.
Also, yaaaas at these ratings! Killing it!

intros are good in my opinon. but used ilke survivor, shown on the first episode, and then not at all/sparse.

RHONY is soooooooooo good this season! And RHONJ is about to come back and slay. Like yesssss

Challenge perfection. I so wish these seasons could measure up, but they don't even come close.

There is nothing more anti-cllmactic than watching a sporting event and already knowing the outcome.
My ex used to do that all the time lol
