Derek deserves a lot more grace than he's given. The biggest reason is that he was CLEARLY drunk when he posted the video of him saying he's cutting ties with anyone who voted for Trump. Second, he was saying that while actively experiencing the aftermath of a traumatic experience in which he had a drink thrown on him and was called homophobic slurs, so he's obviously not going to be thinking straight and therefore shouldn't be held to what he said in the heat of the moment the way y'all are holding him to it.
