I do see where Graphik, Lurker and the like are coming from. There's way too many twists and turns and the drama is too manufactured and one dimensional. I long for the days when the drama was real(for the most part), and the formats weren't overcomplicated just to fit in to what's trendy on TV. But honestly I have alot of people on this show that I like and on top of that I've been watching this show for the longest time and it's a bit hard to just stop watching something that you've enjoyed over the years. I have my gripes but as long as my faves are killing it I can deal.

people can watch it and like it if they please. And I think people can complain about it also. It’s a forum anyway.

Exactly. Imagine being upset about other peoples’ opinions on an open forum.

The golden era definitely had manufactured drama. I was talking about all these unnecessary twists and yes, there are so many fake rivalries the Challenge is trying to push now, and I’m not buying any of them.

The golden Era didnt have manufacture drama lmaoooBeth the biggest production puppet and queen of creating fake drama says hi

The difference is Beth did that just for shits and giggles. Like she knew what her role was and started stuff on her own.

She didn't have production help writing notes or something stupid.

Production did gave her some ''ideas'' of how to create her villain tv personal lol

No, you're right.  Beth and others created fake drama just for the show.   But she was far better at it then these girls.   The drama, manufactored and real, was simply better than it is today.  I mean, even the original means girls (Tina, Rachel & Veronica) are infinitely better than the current crew (Marie, Jemmye, Britni, etc).  ****...Susie, Cara and Colie were much more entertaining and they were only bashing Tonya

There's a reason why Survivor doesn't pull what it used to anymore. Yeah it's still getting 8 million an episode, but compared to even 5 years ago shit has fallen hard. I mean the season 1 finale 18 years ago had 50 million viewers ****.It just goes to show you what happens when Production focuses more on twists than personalities and natural gameplay.

Eh I don't agree with this tbh. Literally everything has fallen in the ratings the last coupl of years and Survivor is one of the shows that have been the most stable. Like Survivor is beating pretty much 90% of what's on broadcast.

I do agree that these convoluted twists and 25 episodes per seasons, plus the spin-offs are hurting The Challenge. The show has recovered a bit since Rivals 3/Bloodlines, but I think that's mostly because MTV is stronger as a whole. I used to consider myself a huge fan and lately I just keep letting episodes pile up because I couldn't give less shits.

EVERYTHING has had ratings drops, less people watch tv, back then the only thing you could do was watch live TV. We don’t live in that age anymore

I'm willing to forgive producers for these trash *** twists, but the editing ****** me off so much. Like the way they edited that Marie/Tori elimination tk make it seem like Marie got completely manhandled smfh. And then you have Shane vs. Nicole not even being shown, apparenly Kailah vs. Kayleigh, and so much more. But let's spend two episodes on Bananas writing notes zzzzzz

We acting like On Demand didn't exist in the early 2000s...... This isn't the 1960s were there's 3 channels and no reruns

This is unrelated, but it’s been said that there wasn’t actually anything personal in the notes that only someone close would know  so why did Jemmye just figure it was Marie? Lool

Netflix, Hulu etc have taken a big chunk away from live TV viewership. It’d be silly to think otherwise, the average person is not watching as much tv as they used to and the stats back that up

Myself along with many others watched the Golden Era IN REAL TIME. If you don't have 13+ years with this shit & didn't basically grow up with this show, be quiet telling people what they can & can't "*****" about.

Ive seen every single season...live...I remember when people used to bring their wives and children on the show! These last couple seasons have become almost unbearable.  Of course I might be biased cause I love Derrick so much, but truely think the challenge has gone downhill since his departure.  I was really hoping they'd start bringing in OG's and make the challenge good again.

A lot of people don’t watch live anymore, like personally I watch all my shows later after DVRing it or the day after on Hulu.

Right lol.

And she wasn't the only one either. Pretty sure tons of people back then delibretly did shit that they KNEW would get them screentime. This show has always been manufactured in some way.

CBS is network TV though so even people without cable can watch basic channels. I know cable has plummeted with ratings but NBC, ABC, Fox, and CBS are in their own bubble

They did air it more often throughout the week to catch some of the casual viewers. Let's be real, Catfish and Ridiculousness can lose an hour spot each week of their reruns too. I remember watching Gauntlet 2  four times on NYE '05 as it aired...Four times of Aneesa going in on Cara :).

that is also true public channels are in their own world which is why it’s asinine when people compare their shows viewships to those on cable tv

exactly. The editing is so amateurish. It made Dirty 30 look so awful, literally the only good episode that season was the Leroy vote in.

Memories of Tina going in on Beth make my heart warm. Holding out hope to see Landon at some point regardless of at what capacity. Hope chuck and Henry go to redemption ASAP, and then home, for good. Never to be seen again. Although I’m sure he has “business to handle with tori” after that XXX reunion. Also have loved Derrick K since the beginning but his story lines these days are super forced. If they could get an actual old school rival of his I’m here for it. Otherwise it’s  just like, “uhhhhh, does he even go here?” Type of moment. I imagine they’re gonna make he and joss a “final reckoning” type of moment though.

Everything's plummeted.  Numbers mean completely different things now.

I liked majority of Dirty 30. That season was fine. The missions/competition kept me interested and some little momentsw here and there.

Veronica’s Instagram account posted a new photo. I know people have others running their account but given the current speculation it’s maybe interesting.

Invasion was actually edited more horrible than the past two seasons. The issue is more so the pacing and cutting out good moments to gear towards the production faves. The casuals are also starting to realize as well.

Congratulations want  a cookie? If you dont like the current era no one is forcing you to stay

This the slow & delayed type of thinking that keeps the show right in that "cult status" space. I never said I didn't like this era, clearly I been going up for my favorites every Tuesday. Y'all slow ***** cant seem to grasp this one fact: WE WANT THIS SHOW TO WIN. WE WANT THE SHOW TO HAVE MORE THAN THAT TIRED *** 750-800K. When you see the many various aspects that could improve the quality of the show, you **** right as a longtime 15 year supporter that I'm going to speak on it.

This is a problem with society in general though so I'm only speaking for the ones that feel me. You can keep being a mindless zombie all you want.

Sending good vibes to my baby Marie Roda and hoping she’s blessing us with another season of iconic television. Your favs could never compare to Plantgate & Pizzagate.

I feel like this will be the last season for Jem, V, and Marie for a while at least :(. Hoping Marie & V add to their legacy.

Veronica just tweeted out that Kayleigh blocked her. I honestly don’t think that an intern or one of her friends would do that so I’m still thinking that she’s not on.
