Bananas/Tony weren’t rumored to be in any redemptions before playerready said they were there twice, that’s what makes it really confusing. We went two whole weeks with only Jozea/Day and Zach/Amanda being officially eliminated. The timeline is just super weird and messy.
If I remember correctly we were told only Sylvia/Joss & ashley/Hunter were never in redemption.
I gave up figuring out because it looks like for some more than one team came back from the same redemption and Paulie/Nat were there longer atleast 5 weeks in total no idea if it was just 1 trip there or multiples. In other words a big mess.
I think it's best to just wait till it airs to see how redemption plays out because honestly it sounds like a big mess and not worth trying to figure out.
That’s correct PR. Sylvia/Joss, Ashley/Hunter never made t to redemption. Amanda/Zach we’re only in redemption as to figure out if Zach was going to be able to continue the game. Which ultimately he wasn’t able to continue, and that ended their time in South Africa.
Also some of the physical competitions which included a Male/Female or Male/Male team ended up being disadvantaged when facing a Female/Female team. Basically in order to neutralize the strength difference.
But yes redemption is confusing AF. There was a point where 2 teams actually returned from redemption unlike in the past only one.
It makes me think because of the number of fights/DQ/Injuries that would have been unaccounted for in preproduction they had to have “x” number of teams to shoot content to fill the number of weeks they had planned. Just a guess on why redemption played out the way it did.

Wow, pretty shocked that Bananas & Tony spent time in redemption and possibly lost 2 eliminations. We initially heard that they were dominating the game, pretty glad they struggled.

The elimination was they had to cross this wire without putting their feet down but they had to shake these big metal fishing hooks off the wire without using their hands. So Zach figured out that you just had to shake the wire with a lot of force to essentially lift the hook off the wire. During this one of the hooks lifted off the wire and hit him right in the face. Breaking his nose and I believe his orbital bone. Pretty narley injury. He couldn’t finish the elimination. Cory/Devin beat Jozea/Day sending them home, and Cory/Devin into the house. Zach/Amanda to redemption. Zach still wanted to compete but was told that if he didn’t have surgery he ran the risk of permanent damage to his facial structure/bones. So production sent him and Amanda home.

im not sure I believe it’s cause they were last in a daily challenge, because Amanda/Zach replaced the team that was supposed to be voted into elimination. But because of the tie, and non breaking of the tie they replaced the team that was supposed to face them.
