Exactly. He likes using the excuse "I only respond to what other people already bring up" for his terrible behavior. If someone comes for you, then you have the right to respond, but if someone just states a reality TV opinion that you don't agree with, then that doesn't give you the right to behave so terribly.
In fairness, there's no real way to successfully excuse such terrible behavior, it's just that I find it funny that that's his go-to excuse that he's so confident in that he's used it ten billion times thinking that it changes anything at all.
