But what else could they do? Besides Allied Forces or Co-Ed Rivals.

A lot.

Exactly here's a list of themes I think would be cool. old school vs new school,Eskimo brothers(paired by a common ex), the showdown(pairing based on who you beat in a elimination round) , battle of the states, redemption(individual challenge for everyone who was kicked off, screwed by a partner, quit etc), brains vs brawn vs beauty,
Heroes vs villains(ruins format not inferno)
**** maybe even a over 30 vs under 30 would be cool lol.

They need to find a way to have the viewers involved because at this point if your trying to save the show then maybe you should more ways to get the people you want to watch more apart of the show

Old School vs. New School  Ruins format has the most potential, would make the most viewers happy and the cast won't be limited. All for that!

Old School vs. New School using the Ruins format does have the best potential but MTV is too stupid to comprehend that.

Instead they're going to target 12-16 year olds that aren't going to watch anyway

I would love for next season to be Cutthroat 2. It's been 6 seasons I think it's time for it. Mix old school with new school with rookies, bring back Tina (since she was obviously willing to be a heavy hitter in season 1), Tyler, Carley, Frank, Laurel, Rachel, Jill, Pete, etc.

The problem for Cutthroat imo is that the theme is way too generic to gain viewers/ interests unless they put another sub-theme to it like RR/RW/FMAYTO or Legends/Regulars/Newbies and they should incorporate that other teams decide who goes in to bring a little more strategy in it.

Even if they do a team challenge and cast the same people again, it will be interesting to see them work together and they dynamic of how they work together will be different.  Obviously I hope for a mixes cast of regulars, vets, true vets, and rookies but I never hold my breathe.

I really would love if they found a way to mesh Battle of the ***es 1 with the Duel.  I know I've stated this before, but having a score board with the top three picking on person of their own *** to go into a duel, then that person picks anyone not in the inner circle to battle...I think it would be epic, and it would also be great to see who is the strongest.

A cutthroat 2 would aslo be ideal, but like others said, the name doesn't draw a lot of people in, although they could do wonders with that casting.

This just makes it sound like all that there is to do that's worthwhile is pairs, so exes/rivals, which nobody wants anymore.

They can make a theme in cutthroat still without it being pairs or generic. They can do old school v new school v rookies instead of colors with people picking their own team. Gameplay rules can be altered from the first season so deliberations and all can be changed. Cutthroat could work if BMP know what they're doing.

The first Cutthroat should have been RW vs. RR vs. FM/SB

Freat Meat

Brandon Nelson

Luke Wolffe

Eric Banks

Vinny Forti

Ryan Kehoe/Pete Connolly

Mandi Moyer

Theresa Gonzalez

Cara Maria Sorbello

Camila Nakagawa

Casey Cooper/Carley Johnson

Road Rules

Abram Boise

Derrick Kosinski

Dan Walsh

Darrell Taylor

Derek McCray/Mark Long

Tori Hall

Katie Doyle

Rachel Robinson

Tina Barta (she showed up anyway)

Jillian Zoborski/Veronica Portillo/Ibis Neives/etc  (I think Susie was pregnant at this time)

Real World (this is difficult--just using who was on it)

Johnny Devenanzio (let's be real--he'd be on it)

Tyler Duckworth

Brad Fiorenza (he has to be on to get Tori)

Ty Ruff (DC has to be introduced)

Derek Chavez (Cancun has to be introduced)

Jenn Grijalva

Melinda Stolp

Sarah Rice

Emily Schromm (DC has to be introduced)

Ayiiia Elizarraras (Cancun has to be introduced)

Paula would probably have been on but I don't know which of those girls they'd have bumped--maybe Melinda but it could have been a good time for her to take a season off.

The original theme with it's orignal rules is just too generic to gain new viewers. MTV Cutthroat 2 alone sounds very plain/boring, it's very difficult to draw attention with that whereas The Challenge Cutthroat 2 Legends vs. Regulars vs. Newbies  or RR vs. RW vs. FM definitely sounds 1000x better which was my point and if you change the rules especially the voting process where the others decide it even guarantees you that you create competition drama.

And generic doesn't mean it must be always pairs, as you/C17 stated they can make a Ruins Old vs. New style format or Angels vs. Demons.

Yeah, I don't know why I wrote Cara's last name twice--good catch

The truth is Rivals or Exes or any other theme isn't really going to attract viewers.  The people that watch are primarily people that want to see what people the saw on The Real World are up to now and people that have been watching these for years (people that actually remember Road Rules)...a 12-16 year old isn't going to turn in and get hooked when they don't know who these people are.  This isn't a show like The Real World in which you get a ton of time to know people.  The entire point is you already know them--some of them too well at this point

I don't know what MTV is doing but, if the rumors are true, they're going to kill this show next season IMO

Rivals 1, Exes 1, Rivals 2 brought viewers especially if you compare them to the previous seasons...Exes 2 didn't, but maybe it was the fact that it aired one hour later that killed the season.

This either means AYTO, stupid format, dumb casting.

I don't agree with that at all.  The cast of Rivals brought viewers and CT/Diem brought  viewers.  I don't recall Rivals 2 having good ratings--maybe I'm wrong

What are the runors?

I don't have permission to discuss it.  I'm sure some people will like it but I think it is the worst idea they've had so far...and completely unoriginal.

Ahhh it feels terrible not bring in the know. Unoriginal as in male/male or male/female partners?

Unoriginal in every sense of the word...I'm not sure if it would be partners or not but that seems like a high possibility

Not a slam at you or anything but it's completely aggaravating not knowing what's going down.

I'd tell you in a second if I was the one that got the information but I don't have a source and was told not to tell anyone.  I think it will be made known soon though

Exactly. One of the reasons I watch this show is to see people I've already seen from The Real World in a different enviorment and interact with other castmembers from other seasons and to see if they're gonna be any different from what they were the first time around. This is why I'm so gung ho about newer castmembers because I want to see what they'll do and it's also why I have such a problem with The Fresh Meat/Camilla/AYTO..I don't know them, they weren't on the RW, and I don't have any real reason to care about them. They really mess with the point of this show IMO.

I've just passed on the "Challengers vs. Superfans" concept to one of the casting people.    Frankly, it's far better than some formats from the past.

If there is a reply, I'll post it.

Ever get that reply V1man? Biggrin

The idea is unoriginal, but I think it could work very well if handled correctly.

However... my excitement has dropped considering there's a been a recent push for a few washed up names that have no business returning next season...

We disagree completely on the first point but to each their own
