oh it doesn't sound like anything worth consuming then. It sounds like something who's production value will never exceed social media.

You're such a snob about everything. God forbid that black people Be given a platform. You haven't even watched Zeus but already claim it's production value will never exceed social media. SMDH. Anything on Zeus is better than this trash Challenge that you watch.

Black people don't have other platforms?  What platforms exclude black people?

as of 2022/2023 The Film and TV industry still. Here is some data, not a total 1925 shut out but still disproportionate enough to slightly keep the door open

Let's see how she digs her way out of this one. *giggles*

On screen talent is in line...in fact slightly above for supporting roles.  The data appears to be over 2 years old which makes it misleading.  It was also conducted during a diversity study with an agenda but let's pretend it's all true.  Zeus falls into the second and third charts which doesn't do any good to any community.  Actually the first chart is data from 5-8 years ago which has zero meaning.

A more recent study, doesn't cover all the stats in the previous link. It still somewhat captures their point regarding who is scriptwriting and directing television episodes.

Also, looking up what they sent, stats from those years are what you can immediately find, but I could be missing some key words in my search.

But, anyway idk what the hell you mean by agenda like these numbers aren't drastically shifting, and I did a thesis on this in 2018.

It's improved, but not by much.

There’s no point in trying to debate with him, he gets triggered whenever someone brings up diversity.

He really be slipping sometimes and starts acting like a mad Klan member if you get him upset.

And I agree it needs to continue to improve but doesn't networks like Zeus hinder that if we're being honest?  The only positive I can see is it may give someone an opportunity to lead to future opportunities but Zeus itself falls into the category of lower quality/cheaper products. It would be interesting to see how careers have developed from BET and Zeus.

i mean Zeus still sounds like cheap trash.

The numbers don't change tho kvm, I see them every single day lol aren't you a lawyer? stop talking tv demographics you aren't qualified

LMAOOOOO. Good taste in music btw.

Also, Zeus is poorly edited; the way they draw out an episode of Baddies is tiring. I can only watch clips, if you're gonna do messy drama do it right.

But yeah saying it's hindering the community falls into a form of respectability politics that is beyond this thread (@KVM not you).

That being said... I'd be lying if I wasn't curious to see how they'd handle a Challenge-I Love Money-BGCASB type of show.  At least they'd revel in the drama, which is what I need this season to do.

Zeus is making money, and fighting sells. I'd be curious to see how the numbers compare to Paramount Plus. And, how many views their top shows gets versus The Challenge All-Stars and US.

Wait I had to read this again. How'd BET get involved? It's not even Black-owned, that's just a product of poor management and a higher-up who loves them some Baby Boy.

Does ownership matter or content?

KVM stop trying to act like you give af or know anything about BET. You said “content” and the person literally said “Baby Boy”. Do you even know wtf that is?

Oh look a real live racist trying to pretend he cares about anything other than the white race....

Im shocked they asked cara for this as I thought she was forever gonna be ignored...I wonder what changed Smile

They got Laurel and Kam and wanted drama. Sounds like it worked.

Someone has to dropped down last minute.

Who did we lose for Cara? And why didnt they just put Genesis on?

Do you really think Genesis and Cara are interchangeable? They went from a popular name to another popular (bigger imo) name Lmao

The point was around ownership of the company.  Do we care about who owns it or about the content including the race of the actors, writers, producers, etc.?

Ownership would likely be an influence on the content. We clearly see that with how The Challenge has been going.

But back on topic, I wonder what big name dropped so they got Cara, considering this is stacked in some capacity. Tempted to say Emily or Sarah if were talking relevance/competition.

(Sidenote but the majority stake for BET/VH1 are up for sale and all the people that I read were interested are black: Diddy, Tyler Perry, Byron Allen, Group Black. )

So if they keep up with the airing of the challenge all year round, we can expect to see this end of may/early June

Devyn

It was prob just someone popular we've seen before like Kailah, Sylvia, Kendal or Jemmye lol

“We” definitely does NOT include you

Why doesn't it?   We would be society as a whole not a segment of it.

If you'd like to answer the question for yourself that would be fine.   Does ownership matter if they're providing opportunity to black actors, producers, etc,?   Or is it great that any individual, regardless of their races, wants to help promote diversity by providing them opportunities that others don't?
