Great now I gotta listen to that shit to hear her cry. She said on her story the EW article I'm assuming the interview with Jonna and MJ was how she found out what really happened with the lock.
She won't say what the 4th instruction was to open the lock but to my understanding J&MJ figured out their puzzle first and since the locks weren't opening production automatically gave the win to J&MJ. Idk how they eventually opened the lock though. Probably production told them how since it was left off the instructions by mistake

I think that's what happened. Another royal production f-up. I can understand the other teams being upset, but I think Jonna and MJ would have still been the winners anyway if that 4th instruction was on there because they finished ahead of everyone.
She's also really upset about her and Darrell's math being harder than everyone else's.
People seem to also be forgetting that Darrell and Janelle were the ONLY team to have just competed in an elimination, and they still killed that final. Idgaf to me they were the deserving winners
I like the fact that they had different problems to avoid the usual cheating they do by copying the other teams answers
they couldve used different symbols to represent the numbers, orrrrr added a bit more distance between the teams lol. Plus this was mainly mental math. Not really a puzzle where you can copy the next team
So apparently the production error that jonna and mj referenced in their interview that janelle said benefited them was that whenever someone finally got one wrong on the memory game, production would snap a picture of the board and turn the signs back over for the next team. So whenever they were close, they had to yell at production to start switching it over for them. One of the times that Jonna and MJ went to the board, production turned over the pieces for another team and not theirs (I believe it was Nehemiah and Melindas). Because they were further behind than N/M, it was an advantage for them
That's ghetto I didn't realize they all used the same big memory board. Thank you for supplying juicy information worth talking about for pages but instead people wanna talk about Kenny being possibly being bi which is stale tea, still insulting Tori for no real reason, acting like Robin died, and reviving threads of old irrelevant has beens that will never return. Oh well.
I dont know why they didn't have their own memory boards. They waste money on stupid unnecessary shit like the private jet or the safes which add nothing to the show. I still don't understand why they weren't prepared to film in the dark? They clearly didnt do a test run of the final and it shows.
and why was THIS final harder than 37? Why didnt those bores have to stay up all night or eat gross food? They all got blankets and canned food. What is going on with production?!

I think the issue they had was the second quarantine & how they had to rush the end to be done on time since someone like Jodi need it to be back home by the 27. So they couldn't add extra weeks like they did for 37 & they got comfortable since they have done many finals before. They went around cutting corners to save time.
Filming after the second quarantine resumed the 20 of August and the final was done by the 26. During those 6 days they did Tyler elimination, Daily #6, Casey/Cohutta "elimination", Daily #7, Jasmine/LT elimination, Daily # 8 , Jodi/Brad elimination and the final. In other word the 9 days the lost quarantining again over production incompetence of not making their bubble safe enough to prevent any type of COVID spread bite them in the ***. Usually all of that is done in 2 weeks not 6 days.
I get the time constraints, but doesnt the cast stay like 3 days for interviews anyways? Or did they not do final interviews on location this time because of the timing? I did hear Melinda reference doing some in LA so that kinda makes sense if they did all the final interviews in LA instead

Some final interviews were done in LA because they didn't have enough time to do them on location remember when Jonna, MJ,, Melinda were traveling to LA after filming? It was for that
That makes sense, I was wondering about that since MJ/Jonna didnt do the promos.
i still think it was very short sighted of them to not even plan for the final to go into the night. Hopefully production learns from this and doesnt set up a final without testing it first no matter the time issues-I think alot of issues would have been solved had they just done a trial run.

yikes - they should have just had them facing opposite ways and have TJ say "you look at another board you're out" - would have saved time, energy, and nothing could have happened then that was shady
I don't even think u could copy the math right? They didn't need to write down the answers or anything they just had to memorize it and enter the #s to open the thing

Production is catching alot of heat for this final. It was sad to hear Janelle cry on the challengemania podcast about it.
Do you think production cares? I don't understand why people are so mad about this. It's nothing new.
wait she was crying?

and before anyone says "ThEY sHouLdVe pIckEd a DifFeRENt bOaRD" ... I think the point should be that they shouldve had the same math problems.
