I really think Chelsie would verbally cut someone up just no one on her season came at her like that. She's the ultimate triple threat.

Ya'll get so pressed about ages on here.  Who cares?  Age has nothing to do with if they're entertaining or not - it just looks ageist and that is digusting cause unless an unfortunate accident happens all of us will be those ages and older if we're not already.

maybe you are actually oldschooler

No rookies over the age of 30 #NoHagRookies

stop being ageist - it's an ugly look.

i don't think it's ageist, a 30+ rookie will come on a probably do a season or two then be over the show bc they have a real life/job so they can't take the time to film a 3 month long season. Rookies need to be young bloods that can dedicate the next 10 years to the show potentially.

We literally hate most of the longterm people we have, this take ain't it.

I want to see older people prioritized. We can watch them for a few years until they reach for retirement and then a new batch of 50 year olds can be cast.

Question: How old are you? and what season did you start watching the show?

all the vets and the people we have now will be pushing 50 and or at least over 40 in a couple years they need some new young blood... but then again i dont see this show lasting more than 10 years from now so maybe it doesn't matter casting younger rookies

I go way back to single digits season. Anyway, let's list out the people they've made regulars in the past few seasons and then you tell me if they bring anything to the show or are remotely likable.

Kaycee

Tory

Miss Josh

Cory

Naneigh

Devin

And I'm sure I'm forgetting more.

i think it's good to have regulars but ones that skip seasons often and don't make the show a career. besides kaycee, everyone in that list i wouldn't even mind if they did the show like once every 3-4 seasons. they need to do a better job at rotating people. that way, the audience and the cast members themselves don't get burnt out, and it prevents majority alliances from being formed so easily

also like i've said before, today's reality tv scene is centered around influencer career advancement and no fresh young face is gonna stick with the show doing the same thing for 10 years lol. i think younger is better so that they do have a chance to stick around longer and form a next "generation" but that shouldn't be the biggest priority, cause it's kind of unrealistic

Anyway, I'm ready for The Challenge: Geriatrics.

I didn't mean it as shade lol. But I think the challenge is in a weird spot where people who have been early fans of the show are now in their 30-40's but the newer wave of viewers are in their 20's so they aren't sure which age group to cater to. Everyone wants to watch someone they relate to.  I think more of the older players should be on allstars (not as hard, shorter film time, more laid back vibe) but have the flagship be predominatly younger (have ogs show up here and there but let the audience get used to seasons not always having Bananas, CT, Wes & Jordan)

Newer main-stays they've casted recently are Michele (production clearly likes her), Nurys & Kyland have all brought something I could even add Ravyn, Melissa, Big T, & Paulie.  even people with more potential like Moriah (diverse Jenna), Cassidy, Johnny, Grant, and Justine could be larger characters. Not all of them are in their 20's but it shows that casting COULD pick better choices without Era 1 representation. Love Island popped off over summer and I don't think the demographic that made it a cultural hit skews older so maybe the challenge needs to address that.

diverse jenna LOL

I think the target twist is interesting. I wonder if it will return for future seasons.

Frank Sweeney too on the dems side. He would tear Paulie a new one

The closest you'll get to that is All Stars 1

Will the first daily be who can storm the capitol the fastest? Or is that the final (Donald Trump's final?)

Love Island popped off over summer and I don't think the demographic that made it a cultural hit skews older so maybe the challenge needs to address that.

THIS. This showed 1) gen z is still watching reality tv 2) they have the numbers if theyre interested

i know some of you dont watch it or have in the past and say its boring, but this season had an effect like any other--INCLUDING in the UK, which is unheard of since they usually do the show better. There are scenes from 3 months ago that are still going viral every week. Its insane how popular this LI season was---and I thinka  good portion of that is gen z  making it popular by posting clips on tiktok. (Last I knew, mtv was reporting all challenge clips on social media and getting them taken down).

just to put this in perspective- the 3 finalists on Love Island followers count (show ended in july)

     jana 1.7 mil, kenny 701k

    leah  3.7 mil, miguel 1.4mil

serena 1.9 mil, kordell 1.1 mil

bananas has been on mtv for 20 years and has 932k. cara 568k. tori 737k. ( i will note cory has 1.4 mil, because teen mom fans) Then look at their recent cbs recruits- Michele  hasnt been on the challenge long but did survivor twice- 143k.  Kyland 177k. Josh 247k.  Kaycee surprisingly is the one from cbs with a significant amount compared to the rest- 529k, but she really doesnt provide anything to the show idcidc.

they CAN draw in a young audience if they tried better. Do I think those particular love island people would do the challenge? Not those top 3 women but the men probably would.  Also from that season- rob (1.5 mil) kaylor (728k) and liv (1 mil) would do it as well. So maybe instead of focusing so much on cbs recruits, they can expand a little bit. Especially since Peacock is coming out with more and more competition shows, and may not let their talent go.

Dw, I didn't think you were trying to shade. And even if you were that wouldn't bother me, I have been a fan of this show since very early on. I have expressed before that this show is not even 1/4 of how good it used to be. The show really went downhill after FR/WOTW2.

To respond to your first point, I don't care about age. I think limiting rookies to just be in their 20's is not a smart move necessarily, how many younger rookies have we had recently that actually gave us something? Ravyn & Nurys comes to mind but I can't think of many others. You guys seem to want regulars that aren't older but the current batch of regulars have been the reason for the decline of the quality of the show. I don't care if people get cast and want to stick around, give me a show whenever you get on tv. I just think this idea that you have and others have cosigned is just not the answer.

Ftr, while I love Era 1. I can name people from other Eras that would be great as well. I'm not asking for just older people to be cast, I'm just asking for a good cast that will bring good tv. I could care less about age, look at Angela in BB26; oldest castmember and delivered from start to end.

kind of strange they stopped casting any love island after olivia/johnny

can they cast people from peacock's love island or is their a contract that they can't?

Frank Sweeney too on the dems side. He would tear Paulie a new one

Oh yes, I was struggling with strong men for the left. Cause in my heart I know Theo C and Jordan MAGA. Fessy might be  team left.

can they cast people from peacock's love island or is their a contract that they can't?

they can. s6 ppl might be under contract for a year but s4-5 ppl prob can

Fessy is def maga lmao he probably wouldn't storm the capitol but he'd still want to bang Melania

theo c is a Brit. How is he maga? Why would he care?

using the ageist buzz word isn't going to change our opinion on  wanting young rookies

can they cast people from peacock's love island or is their a contract that they can't?

They could. They just won't and if they do we'll get someone at the same level as Hakeem or Cassidy because they pay first timers nothing.
