How does streaming it on Paramount help MTV? It's not "extra money" for MTV.
I get what you're saying but MTV doesn't care if they alienate people that don't have cable--I think they've made that clear.
Even if they don't make anything extra (which I feel like they should, but I don't know what that looks like for them. Would WesTracked know?)
They don't LOSE anything, either. Paramount should probably have MTV available to stream above all.
I mean, I wish it was on Paramount because I very rarely watch any non-sports live and I fully get what you're saying. I just also understand why they're not doing it--they want people to have MTV. If it's on Paramount the next day literally would anyone watch it live?

Because CBS isn't deserpate for viewers and don't need people to add their network that have cable.
My late 40 something coworker who used to be a fan stopped watching the series cause she doesn't have cable. We used to talk about it all the time. Y'all are underestimating the average viewer that isn't a hardcore stan on vevmo. My sister used to watch idk why she stopped though.
Maybe MTV wants full rights so they're blocking BMP from letting it stream on Paramount. Or BMP is staying loyal to MTV because they know fully committing to paramount/cbs will get them cancelled in a few seasons meanwhile mtv will keep them forever.
And not ideal, but I did look in last night's episode is available to purchase on Paramount for $2. I mean....cheaper option than getting cable.
Do you mean Prime? It's $2.99 per episode and there are like 20 episodes if including the reunion.
Maybe my Paramount is tied to Prime but it's $1.99 for SD and $2.99 for HD. 40-60 bucks for 20 episodes isn't bad at all...plus if you dislike it you just stop buying them.

I don't think we're underestimating it. I expect people without cable are just not going to watch it but MTV needs viewers and that means they need people to have cable.

I'm a particular fan of ownership of media and if there was any evidence showing buying the show for $60 bucks helps us get more seasons, I would.
I still think it's a little underwhelming for a milestone season that has 40 allstars that it can't even break 500k... but hey i think its still mtv's most watched show but thats only kinda bc they have like 2 shows on mtv these days besides ridiculousness
LOL That idiot Scott Yager was predicting that the premire could get the show close to 1 million.
Love how u claim HES the idiot yet he's making a nice living covering this show while you sit on a online thread to talk about the show w no pay? Loser energy tbh
Literally 80% of the Facebook comments are people complaining about the inability to stream it. I think they'd near double their ratings (prob low end 650k, high end 750k) with next day streaming.
That wouldn't effect their ratings positively. The ratings r for how many ppl watched it on tv not streaming so it would decrease significantly..

Of u buy it on prime the season is 24.99 and if u buy per episode it's still 24.99 it jus takes each 2.99 purchase off the total price and once u hit 24.99 u can click "buy the rest of the season" for 0 dollars

And for any network that has 2 shows to pull in those numbers for one of them on a dying network is amazing. They're thrilled even if some here don't get that

It wouldn't affect ratings but it's all about revenue intake. If the show's getting 50k-100k viewers of Paramount, that's significant bonus ad revenue.
The only way to stream the show shouldn't be by purchasing the season for $25 or pirating...

I'm still confused as to what people don't understand about "they only care about you adding cable"
And $24 isn't expensive. People spend more to see a movie
I canceled by paramount subscription like a week ago cause I realized that I would be getting season 40 episodes and I ran out of other things to watch. Taking my money to Amazon!
Just kidding lol... I'm just gonna pirate it like a normal person
Who the **** still has cable.. yall are crazy
Google says 72.2M as of last year. Way down but still a ton of people. Probably older people with money to spend lol
Makes sense. Apart from people like you who wake up at 5am on Saturdays catching re runs of I Love Lucy and Gilligans Island, there really isn't any need for it anymore
I still have cable mainly because 1) I like live watching things and tweeting/commenting on forums. But 2) (mainly) is that in the east bum **** corner of the country I live, the only provider for internet that isnt slow af is comcast, so regardless I have to have Comcast for internet, and the package is supposedly cheaper than just getting internet. (Dont ask me, my name isnt on that particular bill but thats what everyone who lives nearby tells me as well).
as soon as I hear of a provider for internet that is great, I will explore other options because the only show I watch live that I couldnt watch without subscribing to something new is the challenge.

If I was a casual and watched that terribly edited 90 min of eliminations and losing the most interesting girls I would tune out too. It's unfortunate though because it was a top tier episode but even with word of mouth and social media praise there is no real way to watch this.

Universal needs to buy mtv.

We need westracked to educate us
I broke down and got Philo, it airs on there
but paramount is laying off ppl and some merger is going on so maybe it'll air future seasons if they redo everything

Improvement!!!

What are the ratings like on MTV for shows like Teen Mom?

You all save a buck an episode if you get the SD version too. That's $20 right there if you plan on ordering every episode.

To be fair I have it for sports lol
Episode 3 - 407,000 viewers with a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
Pretty significant overall drop with Labor Day incoming. Demo is stable.

Best of the season!
