Says who? Well going based off idols who have been successful. Carrie Underwood does not even need to be said. Scotty McCreey has sold 681,00 of his first CD; which is much more than any recent winner. Bucky Covington who barely anyone knows sold 427 K which is a very nice amount. Kelly Pickler is quite well known. Josh Gracin has done well on the country charts. Obviously the country singers on idol sell well and actually have lasting careers; largely because of the fanbase of the show. It is silly to say, "says who" about country singing reality tv contestants performing well. Look at Miranda Lambert, a big star in country is from a reality contest.
About X Factor, the only person I can see somewhat selling is Chris Rene once he gets in the studio and they fix his voice up. Josh and Melanie are both great talents, but the types of talent that do not do well at all in today's market.

I agree!!!! I was watching with my family and we were all like "..the f***?". It wouldnt have been so suspect if the clips before weren't her just talking about how much she wanted an accent. and the way she brought it out.."Oh Simon I just want to thank you so much and this is my real accent!"

But look at actors like Christian Bell or Hugh Jackman they have accents but hid it. Melanie hid hers because she thought she would get judged harshly over it.

I actually don't buy her accent. When she gets excited, like when Mariah tweeted her, it goes away. Now that everyone knows she has one, why would she keep covering it up? I like her and am rooting for her, but the accent is just really suspect to me...

If the show wasn't completely rigged by the Executive Producers, I'm sure Chris Rene would have, and should have won.
The nerve the producers have of firing my precious Paula. I love how Nicole denied she was leaving the show in place of Kelly Rowland but was fired anyway. Steve didn't deserve it either. I would love for him to host again. Nicole not so much but I still respect her.
Good. I think they all deserved to go. Even though I dislike LA good thing to keep him. The judging panel needs STRONG women to do the job and not women who sit there and whine about their jobs never knowing who to pick because they don't want hurt feelings. The host wasn't bad but wasn't good, need a more bubbly host.
As long as Simon was firing people, he should have fired himself. He's slightly less interesting than Gordon Ramsey, and at least Ramsey can cook. Simon just runs his mouth.
