Wicked Summer: Boston - MTV
A couple of a months Kate from BGC was filming with her boyfriend in Boston for a show similar to Jersey Shore..but with M A S S H O L E S. I just looked at Vinny from FM2 twitter and he said they are filming a show called "wicked summa" and they are looking for m a s s ho l e s or something like that. I actually read about this a couple of a months ago but I thought it was rumor. And there was poll on MTV about it awhile ago.
They do not need to cast any new people but Vinny,Joey,Preston,Cara Maria,Kate,Emilee,Whitney and Pete and you have an Awsemome Hot Mess Summer

I'd rather see fresh faces. It would be funny though if Emilee and Kate were both casted, considering their past together.

But the show could just be Cara Maria, then I'd watch it for sure.

Oh I was under the impression that it was people from Boston getting together for the summer not newbies and if this continues and RW keeps going down I see a replacemnt Series =(
I'm sure that if this show is being made, they will only cast people to perpetuate the stereotypes. Which would be unfortunate, because people from Massachusetts sure are entertaining folk, Boston accent or no Boston accent. I'm sure they're only going to cast people with thick Boston accents. Despite my complete M*******-ness, there's no way they'd want a guy like me for this show, since my Boston accent isn't very strong. Only people from out of state tell me that I have a bad one. Though it tends to get thicker with each beer.

If Paul and Kate are on this, which I'm pretty sure they are considering she did say she was filming for mtv about a month ago, did you hear pauls accent? LOL, "couldn't even get a startaaaa." Sorry, I love Boston accents.
Sorry, I love Boston accents.
I love Boston accents :wink3:
Hands down, my favorite Boston accent word is "garbage" (pronounced "GAH-bidge). It's probably the only word that I always make sure I say in a Boston accent instead of my North Shore suburbs accent.

Do people in Boston really say "wicked" all the time? See, now this I could get excited about.
Hahahahaahha, I would love to hear someone say that. Do people in Boston really say "wicked" all the time? See, now this I could get excited about.
Wicked essentially takes the place of the words "very" and "really". You hear it in Massachusetts quite a bit, used as an adverb (ie, "It's wicked cold"). I've lived here my whole life so I've heard that word and used it plenty in conversation. I don't know if I'm in the minority here, but I feel like I've been saying it less frequently now that it's become synonymous with this state. My favorite Boston accent moment on MTV definitely had to be CT on RW: Paris complaining that people "drank [his] lick-ah".

If it's a Boston accent... it's not Wicked... It's "Wick-it". Right? ps. I LOVE Boston accents. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
Most of the people that are billed as from Boston aren't even real Bostonians. CT & David are the only ones I know of that actually lived in the city. Everybody else grew up in suburbs like Methuen and Billerica or something like that.

I always say I'm from "the Boston area" or "outside of Boston" since I'm about 35 minutes away. I don't think people should claim Boston as a hometown when their hometown is closer to New Hampshire than it is to Boston. I think it's insulting to people like townie who are actually from the city.

When you're talking to people who aren't from the area, it's just much easier to say that because if you say your actual town, people end up asking "Where's that?". At least they can get a roundabout idea. If Joey would've said "I'm from Methuen" or wherever he's from I would have had to use Google to figure out where that is. Boston's much easier.
I understand that part of it molds, but LA is also a much more populated city than Boston. I dunno I guess maybe since I know so many people who can legitimately claim Boston as their hometown I don't feel comfortable doing it myself since I'm not actually from there, and instead say that I'm from Eastern Mass or something like that.

Makes them seem "more cool" to say they're from Boston than any of the suburbs 30-45 miles away.

Some of you may have, thanks to Notre Dame... but most haven't. For that reason, when I'm talking to people across the country, I say Chicago. It's the closest big city. Of course, I usually end up explaining later..... but you get the point.

CTluvr should try out. She's a Ba h-stun girl! ;)
That page only proves my earlier point. It seems like all they want to do is get Jersey Shore clones with Boston accents. Which would really be a waste of a show. Being from around here we've got more to offer than a gaggle of drunk meatheads and ***** who care too much about their appearance.
This could be very interesting. I remember when the Jersey Shore promos aired I was like who is gonna watch a show with these 4 brats? Because if you remember not all 8 got promos.
I heard about this on the radio this morning.

Wait, this show is going to have new people on the cast, like Jersey Shore did, right? Because a lot of people are bringing up RW/RR cast members.
Jersey Shore fans should brace to see Red Sox Nation gear. The casting company behind the MTV hit is looking for people to star in another Jersey Shore spin-off, titled Wicked Summer. Dropping its R's to capture a clichéd if not classic New England dialect, the casting site asks: "You ready to live togethah, laugh togethah, drink togethah and love togethah?" (And the Wicked in the title clearly comes from the regional slang for emphasis.) It further tells hopefuls: "You are the hottest girls and proudly buff guys from Massa-freakin-chusettes who believe in God, family, the Red Sox and partying!!" Jersey Shore guys pose with Bar Refaeli for sexy photo shoot Doron Ofir Casting, which is also planning a Los Angeles-based Persian version of Jersey Shore, is looking for "blue-collar, hard-working, harder-partying, tough-talking" Massachusetts natives from all over the state. Suffice it to say, Yankee fans need not apply — even though The Curse of the Bambino has been exorcised. According to the casting announcement, Wicked Summer will film in Cape Cod. Production on the series is scheduled to begin in mid-July, but the series has not yet secured a network, according to E!. Will you watch Wicked Summer?
[via]
