I really want with all this recent talk if it's a return city to be Chicago and if it's a new city Portland or Pittsburgh. I have recently been to both and really don't understand how they haven't gone there yet.
You don't understand why the Real World wouldn't want to go to Pittsburgh in January?
Well for one, Portland sucks. As for Pittsburgh, no idea.
You don't understand why the Real World wouldn't want to go to Pittsburgh in January?
No I mean in general as in all 26 seasons.
No I mean in general as in all 26 seasons.
I certainly can. If you ask people where they'd want to go on vacation, I doubt Pittsburgh would be one of the cities they shout out.
Any chance of this season being in Atlanta?
Any chance of this season being in Atlanta?
Considering it will begin airing in late spring I think it will probably be a city with mild winter weather. Atlanta, Miami, Phoenix, Honolulu, Houston...
Years ago when I was visiting my brother in Pitt, there was actually an article in the paper saying that mtv was out abd about scouting for house for the real world, I think it was where some of the steelers lived at the time. Of course this was like maybe 5 years ago and it was in the summer.

I remember another rumor about two years ago...and at the same time, I heard a rumor that they were also considering Detroit. Is it possible? Yes, I suppose. Would I do it if I were an owner and my previous season's ratings were in the tank, and I needed to rely on a big cast in a big city to revamp the ratings? **** no. If the Real World is truly interested about their viewers, perhaps they should be thinking about going somewhere that serves more of a fantasy appeal - not Pittsburgh in January. Pittsburgh, if chosen, would be lucky to see temperatures in the 50s. While some of their best sports teams are playing in January/February (if lucky), BMP outlawed the SD from going to a professional sporting event, so that's out unless they change. They could always going skiing or snowboarding, I suppose, but what if some cast members don't want to do that? Seeing some of them drive in the snow might be funny the first time. In my opinion, if they go to Pittsburgh they would have to heavily rely on bar scenes, unless they have a cast who is able to keep themselves occupied.

I've heard that a house in Royal Oak (suburb of the D) was being considered, although this was some time ago. At least a few years. Either way, I'd be ecstatic!

I think it would be interesting to have another season in London but the chances of that are probably nil.

But only if they did it for season 27.
That'd be awesome! But only if they did it for season 27.
Detroit in January might be even worse than Pittsburgh in January.
To be fair there supposed to start filming at the end of January, so that would be only about a month of cold weather and two-three months of fair weather. But I have never experienced severe cold weather being from Florida and now living in California, so I have no clue.

The last 3 years, we've had snow up through March (Sometimes April). Last year, we pretty much had snow on the ground the entire season with blizzards on an almost weekly basis.

But I have never experienced severe cold weather being from Florida and now living in California, so I have no clue.
If you have no clue, why make the statement in the first place? February-March in the Midwest is generally as bad, if not worse, as November-January. "Fair weather" in the Midwest starts, on average, late April-early May. It has snowed in late April/early May, when it was 55 degrees the day before. A simple Google search of Pittsburgh's average temperatures shows that the average high in March is only 51 degrees. For someone who isn't from Pittsburgh or the Midwest (as we would guess a majority of this cast would be), that is not "fair weather". That is cold. However, the Midwest has yet to receive any snow...so we're either in for an extremely mild winter (which BMP could have, in no way, predicted) or it's going to hit us super late and last until June. Weather is unpredictable like that.
With this being a political season and being filmed so early in the year maybe they will try Austin or Dallas,Texas.

I'm from Chicago and go to school in Milwaukee and last year on my last weekend of school (in May), we were all still wearing some sort of winter jacket. Probably lighter than what we were wearing for the first four months, but still. Summer literally didn't start until June 21st. I'm actually really curious to know what city the next season will be in. I had been pulling for Chicago this whole time to the point where I just deluded myself into thinking it was a lock, but weather had not even occurred to me.
Yup, Royal Oak was the rumor I'd heard as well.
Yeah from my understanding they were going to do Detroit or Denver and went with the latter.
Detroit in January might be even worse than Pittsburgh in January.
I'm not sure why you say it'd be worse, but if it has anything to do with the weather... well, it might be very cold since winter really hasn't started in Michigan yet (well there's been about 4 days of snow), but at least it'd be different weather. And it being cold outside, doesn't prevent the house from having a hot tub, etc. I mean they were rarely outside in Vegas and it worked out fine. I'm just hoping it it's January because I'd be able to see them and take pictures; if they wait one more seasons, I probably won't be.
With this being a political season and being filmed so early in the year maybe they will try Austin or Dallas,Texas.
I'm from Fort Worth but I have lots of family in Dallas; I really don't see a season happening in Dallas just because it dosen't really have as much fantasy appeal as people might think. The majority of the city and downtown are really dirty unless excluding Highland Park where George Bush lives. If they found a house there, I doubt they would be willing to buy it since it would be so expensive and far from downtown
I wouldn't be surprised if they do the next real world in Jersey. Since Jersey Shore is supposedly taking a break and everything. Wouldn't put it past them to blatantly copy another show. As far as Challenges go, since there were plenty of rivalries that didn't make rivals, plenty more were formed during Rivals, and I imagine more will be formed during botexes, I would not be surprised to see a Rivals 2 immediately after this challenge due to the success and popularity Rivals brought back to the show. I'd say apart from that, maybe a "Bro-mance/Friend" season, where friendships are tested, but I don't know if Production is looking to establish happy endings with rekindling of relationships with these latest challenges, and I'm pretty sure "bro-mance/best friends" would destroy quite a few. Other than that, I'd like to see an Old School vs. New School, where people who appeared prior to Fresh Meat I, like CT, Abe, Derrick, Tina, Coral, Aneesa, Robin, Mark, Landon, Rachel etc. face the newer aged dominators like the mobs from the two fresh meat seasons. Coral announced recently that she'd be up for another challenge, so that would be sick.
I don't get the whole fantasy appeal argument, Sydney's ratings would have been through the roof. I think its 99% about the cast when it comes to ratings.
My vote would be for Myrtle Beach, SC or Topeka, KS. Let's get those Cities rocking!
Any talk of Atlanta?
Any talk of Atlanta?
Ages ago... (16 months) there was once again speculation. It happens ever couple of years. Bravo!

I just want another Duel! It's seriously my favorite format of the whole challenge series! They need to make it closer to the first one. Very little partner challenges, and only 4 people make the finals. Duel 2 felt like a partner challenge basically, and the final was horrible because you had to wait for the opposite *** to continue, and that was total BS. So yeah Duel 3 with a Duel 1 format! Alliances tend to fall when only 2 people from each *** could make it to the end.

Your right though, I don't think it would do well ratings wise. Plus, its freezing in PA. To the poster who mentioned Florida, I just moved here in August and its been pretty nice weather since October, but it was really cold today for the first time since I've lived here. When I went running around 9 it was 45 degrees. Plus, I've heard it can get really cold in January. I had on my northface and gloves tonight! I really want them to go somewhere they've never been. And please, no more Cali/NY locations for the remainder of of the show! Some of the others mentioned, throughout the thread Real World Beverly Hills, I don't think they would ever do that. Too ritzy. What about another Texas location, such as Dallas or Houston? Or Nashville? Real World New Jersey..JUST NO. Its the Jersey Shore cast that makes Jersey fun, because there isn't **** to do there. Seriously. And the beach, don't get me started. I
Florida has been cold weather during this period for the past few years and it can rain from one full day to six days in a row during spring time so I really do not think it would be a good Idea,South Florida can have unpredictable weather especially in spring time.
