The predictor thing says I've got you by 26 this week. :)
That is why it is a prediction my friend. They aren't taking into account the monster year Stubbs is going to have, or the no-no that Kershaw is going to throw on opening day. And the predictor for NCAAB also said Kansas and Pitt would be in the final four, not VCU and Butler. :)
Week one will always favor those that went with stud pitching early in the draft, because their top picks will all make two starts that first week. That will even out in week two and beyond when my big bats are crushing balls out of the park, 6+ times a week and the opposing "stud" pitcher misses a start with a callus on his pinky. :D

Give me a player who contributes 6 days a week over a pitcher who scores once a week any day.

My pitchers aren't that great. Infact.. I'm pretty worried about the pitching line up I have. I was hoping for something better. ps. I realize I'm not going to win. Let me enjoy what I can. Mean boys.
Anything can happen on any given week....ask Bacchus ;)
Anything can happen on any given week....ask Bacchus
Exactly. We played once in football and I won. So that "anything can happen" was the better team winning... The good news is with the amount of baseball games played and the fact that it is not just a weekend sport like football, the more diligent fantasy owners in this game usually prevail. p.s. Spinner, you catch all the breaks my friend. Not in my division yet again.
Anything can happen on any given week....ask Bacchus ;)
Kind of like our football championship...

Moldsie, why didn't you play with us?
Moldsie, why didn't you play with us?
Entirely too time-consuming, too much work, and I don't like baseball that much.
I don't like baseball that much.

Does this mean that if I say I don't really like baseball either that lightning will strike in the same place twice?
I'm not saying that I don't like baseball at all. I just set up a bet with a few of my friends. We all picked a Tiger and every time they hit a home run, we have to buy a round of shots. I just don't like baseball enough to spend time on it every day doing minor tweaks and checking up on who's pitching, who's hurt, etc etc.
Pick Ryan Raburn!!
Haha, I actually did!
Ellsbury is 3 for 4 tonight with 2 runs, an RBI and a SB. Oh and he is batting .361 this Spring. I think he is going to put up 2009 numbers on steroids this year. Er, without the steroids of course... My prediction: .305BA 17HR 90RBI 68SB - and I don't even want to guess the runs scored. It might be an MLB record with the murderers row that he leads off. It was so sad to see him sitting there, with no love in the 9th round. Booyah! (Yes, this is the trash talk kick off event!)
I agree with BA, steals, and runs. 17 homers and 90 rbi's though? GET REAL lol. You do know he has 20 CAREER homers and 130 career rbi's right? His lineup is loaded, yes, but he is not going to get more rbi's because of it, even with all those great rbi opportunities J.D. Drew, Marco Scutaro and Jared Saltawhatever will provide..... :)

Drew, Marco Scutaro and Jared Saltawhatever will provide..... :)
He has hit 3 in 57AB this spring, prior to tonight. He is a different player now. At that clip, he would project into the 30's at leadoff. Now, I am not saying that will happen. However, he is maturing as a hitter and even though he lost a year, he has drive. It is not crazy to think he can hit 15 plus. He has always projected as a 20+ Johnny Damon type leadoff guy. Give the kid a chance. He is going to breakout. Oh and so will Salty. Grab him now, before I stuff him on my bench for the season to deprive you. :wink2:
I'll give you the win on the inflated RBI number. I started with 60 and then had a few beers, lol. I'd like to see it around 75 but I wouldn't bet my breakfast on it. Ellsbury in the end isn't there to drive in runs, he is there to score them. Leadoff power is nice, but his job is to get on base and distract the pitchers in the stretch for the core of the lineup. Marco Scutaro did lead the Sox in BA last year (.333 OBP) and he is fighting for his job with a talented Jed Lowrie in a contract year. Should be interesting as I do expect Jacoby to have some opportunities. This isn't the Royals. The 9 hitter for the Sox is still dangerous and will be on base often enough... Hey, Ellsbury is my 3rd outfielder. It is not like I am betting the farm on his performance.
What do you think of the Scutaro/Lowrie battle? I am not as sold on Lowrie as some may be. And while Scutaro may not be the sexier pick, he did put up the same numbers as Jeter last year (then again, not like that was too difficult last year lol).
What do you think of the Scutaro/Lowrie battle? I am not as sold on Lowrie as some may be.
I'm with you as a doubter. Lowrie seems to be a favorite sleeper of the "expert" crowd. Like you have said, Scutaro might not be a Ferrari, but he gets the job done. Lowrie showed flashes of promise on the big stage early, but then came back to reality after getting injured. There is no question he has tools, but I don't think he has the tools to be a future shortstop for the Red Sox. Jose Iglesias is the "messiah" in waiting so neither mentioned above have a long term job. Lowrie is trade bait or utility in the long run with the Red Sox at best. Of course, they need to get their asset up in value, so they are going to play him. Thus the short controversy... I'd personally prefer Scutaro to play unless he is hurt, period. That said, Scuraro has zero chance of signing with the Sox next year, but he is a good shortstop and has a place as a starter on another team. He will work himself into the ground to get that contract and a nation will reap the rewards.
Just a heads up: I don't see it on the league page but I'm assuming that lineups lock at 1:00 PM ET, or 5 minutes before the start of the first game today.
ESPN is predicting the winners of the MVP, Cy Young, comeback player of the year, stolen base champion, and manager of the year will all be from the Red Sox. Also the World Series Champions too. That would be wild.
Do you have the link? Gonzo MVP. Lester Cy Young. Youk Comeback player and Crawford as SB champ? It could also be Youk/Crawford/Pedroia, Buchholtz, Pedrioa/Beckett and Ellsbury. Gee, I love it when when there is so much talent on this one team that I can interchange names for those major awards and still sound credible! ;)

But you are right across the board except they had Ellsbury as comeback player.

I predict ellsbury somewhere around there his power should go up to like 14, with his avg 304(obp 360). with far less rbis. Gardner will get on base more.

Shocking though lester does have a good shot at cy, and mvo i never really heard the of the sb champion award, and i dont a ******* of a team with the mvp and cy would win any award. Theres really no reason not to pick felix for the cy and Manny will win Comeback player of the year.

FYI, CBS Sports has an iPhone app. It's pretty nifty. I don't know if it's available for android phones or not.
FYI, CBS Sports has an iPhone app. It's pretty nifty. I don't know if it's available for android phones or not.
Android phones have something called a full functioning browser with flash. Surprisingly, it works just as well as an app. Even better in most cases. ;)

I also have a full functioning browser with flash. Thank you very much. It's called Skyfire. I prefer to use the mobile app when I'm on my phone. iPhone haters; can't live with em.. can't banish em to another planet. lol ;) I try to be helpful.. and I get razzed by The Big Giant Head. Sheesh.
