Two Hour Finale Planned for Big Brother 11
'Big Brother' Scoop: A Grande-Sized Finale | The Wrap
CBS is giving "Big Brother" fans more to love-- and Jay Leno something to fear. The network has decided to double the show's Tuesday, Sept. 15 season finale, expanding it from one hour to two, insiders close to the production confirm. The grande-sized "Brother" will air live from 9-11 p.m., with Julie Chen set to host. As a result of the plus-sizing, the last hour of "Brother" will now do battle with night two of NBC's "The Jay Leno Show." CBS likely would have aired a drama repeat in the 10 p.m. slot had it not expanded "Brother." Look for the two-hour "Brother" to mix all the traditional elements of the final show -- specifically, the crowning of a winner-- with an extended reunion segment featuring return appearances by ejected houseguests. There will, of course, be a studio audience. CBS's decision to double down on "Brother" is no surprise given the show's stellar ratings this season. Despite being in its 11th season, the show is up 5 percent in overall viewers-- an almost unheard of growth for such a veteran show. In years past, producers have had to cram a whole bunch of elements into a one-hour finale, leaving limited time for reunion elements and cast interviews.
This is definitely long overdue, 1 hour has never been enough. In Julie's weekly EW.com blog, she said "we’ll also follow up with ALL the House Guests." I hope her emphasis of "ALL" means Chima will be invited. But given some of her twitter postings (http://twitter.com/chimasimone), I don't know.
Maybe they will make it more like a reunion. I never liked how the non-jurors hardly got to speak. The last 2 seasons have had some of my favorites leave first 3.
I definitely became a dedicated fan of the show at the right time. I love 2 hour finals since more ground can be covered much like the Survivor finales have shown successfully.
I think tt you came in on a good season:). A lot of people don't like this season but I think that it is really good.
There have been more than once that I have said there should be a two hour finale....there is alot of stuff to cram into an hour. So that should be cool to see....just don't fill it with useful stuff to take up time lol
I think the finale will have more to cover if it's 2 hours.

thats AWESOMEEEEE.
Chima will not be a part of the finale. Per her twitter (http://twitter.com/ChimaSimone) she was invited to do a taped interview, but she refused to give them more material to edit. She said their choices are to have her live and in person, or not at all.
I don't belive that. Chima wouldn't give up an oppurtunity to be on tv. They just didn't want her there.
after this whole situation I really don't like Chima...the way she acted and the stuff she did got on my nerves. Jordan FTW. I figure it's like this: If the Final 2 is Jordan and Kevin, I have no clue of who will win. But I know that whoever picks Natalie for final 2 will win because they made it clear that Natalie has no friends in the house.
I actually think that both Kevin & Jordan think Gnat has the votes to win! So i'm hoping neither would bring her.... I do not want her even getting the 2nd place prize! The 2 hour finale is so long overdue... I hope they do more of an extended reunion a la survivor style... but they have a lot more stuff to cover... the final hoh comp... plus doing the jury questions live! I hope they don't add a lot of boring filler!
I am Jordan FTW too! Chimas disrespect for the game annoyed me. There were people who would have loved to be in her position. Her behavior was a slap in the face to the producers and the fans that really love the game and would be so hapy to be there.
The thing with Chima was, she just made that the coup d'etat happen, now had that happened on any other houseguest but Jessie she would have probably been for it. To me shes a quitter and I can't stand them. I think the 2 hour finale is too much, because they're going to rush everything in the 2 hours. I'm just glad Natalie was exposed for the fake that she was lol.
She couldn't handle the heat so she had to leave the kitchen. I don't have any respect for her.
I don't belive that. Chima wouldn't give up an oppurtunity to be on tv. They just didn't want her there.
Please if they didnt want her there they would just act like she never existed. You know, like how they did Justin and Scott the other 2 expelled HG's. They wont let the Goddess Chima rest, they bring her up practically ever episode and even asked "The 4 best players" of the game their opinions of her. Chima bought the ratings and they know it, in the end ratings is all that really matters.
I also think that haing her on the live show would be risky. They would have to bring her on stage after the live vote because she would tell them secrets on purpose.
