The 25th season begins with 18 castaways being stranded on the Caramoan Islands of the Philipppines and being divided into three tribes. Included are three former players (Michael Skupin, Jonathan Penner, Russell Swan) who were medically evacuated from the game.

I'm going to go cry in a corner because I won't ever be able to watch this live this year. Penner and Skupin are great choices, but honestly, bringing back Russell? I wasn't a fan of him the first time. I think this is CBS's way of plugging Hantz secretly.

Still kind of disappointed about these three. Skupin, absolutely yes. Dude fell into a ******* fire. Penner, mehhhh because it was his second time. Russell Swan is completely forgettable in my opinion.

I actually like the sketchy game Penner plays so I am not disappointed with his inclusion, although I do agree it doesn't mean as much being this is his third go (i.e. professional Survivor contestant.) I do remember Russell passing out, but that is about it.

Although thinking back on who else has been pulled...there really weren't that many better choices.

There are only a certain number of baseball stars who are easily recognizable to me.

Skupin is one of the only vets I'd actually consider keeping around if I was playing the game. Penner would be a day one target as you don't want him to get settled in. Russell is cannon fodder.

That window to cut them is typically limited and if you miss it--watch out.

Anything than just be his puppets like on South Pacific with Coach and Ozzy or on Redemption Island with Rob. So sick of seeing them like that.

Last time he played he was fiercely loyal to his tribe...so cutting him loose at any moment would likely come as a surprise to him. Penner is the second-out guy in that tribe in my opinion. If they get wind of Jeff being hurt, they'll cut him loose at once. I think it's hard to make an alliance before seeing someone compete. Someone might look pretty good, but be terrible athletically.
