After 19 seasons in the Thursday night slot...Survivor Nicaragua will air Wednesdays at 8 PM. An interesting move but it could mean they are losing some confidence in the show.

That'll be interesting... It originally did air on Wednesdays when it first started off so maybe it'll be good for the show.
Also, don't forget, sometimes during the spring seasons they air on Wednesdays because of March Madness.
OMG I so hope Jeff stays on past season 21/22. Nicaragua looks amazing, the preview was exciting. I want to see who they picked though. Has anyone ever applied to Survivor before, I really want to but I'm like afraid lol it's so different then RW casting I think.
If so, when do you apply, like is it rolling submission? Me and my BFF will def try out together.

Survivor casting is much more intense than RW casting and they take a lot more care into the kind of people they put on the show.
It is not rolling submission. They announce dates.
Molds,
Thanks a bunch. I know Real World felt really easy (though i didnt make it to finals) i made it to semi's and was like Really this is too easy lol.
I'm bummed now though because I wanted to work on a tape but what's the point if you can't send it in :( O well.

I don't understand how they can be losing confidence in a show that has easily won its time slot for years.
I wish you didn't have to be American to try out. I would rock that sh it.
Looking forward to the new season, I'm excited for all fresh faces for once and Nicaragua looks AMAZING, it's itching my travel bug again!
2nd chance season COULD be good, if done right.
If they're moving Survivor to Wednesdays then that means the spring season will be going up against American Idol... Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
I wonder what this twist is going to be. I also feel Survivor should sign through 30 seasons and call it a day. 30 players, all the greats.
BRING BACK ROB CESTERNINO!!!!
The cast is probably in Nicaragua by now. Samoa began filming the 2nd Thursday of June, so a start date of June 10 is likely. That would mean day 39 is July 18, giving them a 2 week break before the season 22 cast arrives the first week of August. Jenna Morasca tweeted:
Off to my world adventure.. the tribe has spoken about 9 hours ago via web
So she's probably doing interviews or something. She's been trying to hint that she is possibly going on Amazing Race or something of the sort but filming began for that last week. She keeps using the term "fantastic voyage" which was the phrase she used last August 3, the day that the Heroes vs Villains cast flew to Samoa.

And it shows too when you look at the people both shows cast.
The official release, via CBS Entertainment:
LOS ANGELES - July 28, 2010 — The next edition of SURVIVOR will be a battle for the ages…literally. The 20 new castaways will be divided into two Tribes of 10: Young vs. Old. The Espada Tribe, made up of individuals over the age of 40, must prove they have the life experience and knowledge that will ultimately help them Outwit and Outlast their younger competitors. The La Flor Tribe, consisting of individuals 30 years of age and younger, will have to use their youth and vitality to Outplay and ultimately Outlast their elders. Who will prevail: youth or maturity?
SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA premieres in its new night this fall on Wednesday, Sept. 15 — returning to the time period where the series' first season aired in the summer of 2000.
In some ways, I'm excited for this dynamic. I think the 40+ crowd with families are real people and I'd much rather see what they have to offer versus the typical cartoon characters that Survivor has offered in the past 4 seasons. In other ways though, the older tribe could be a snoozer -- they tend to be scared to make big moves which results in a boring alliance just sticking together (see the final 5 of Survivor Thailand).

Translation: A great battle between a flower and a sword plays out on the beaches of Nicaragua this September on CBS
I'm actually really looking forward to it as well :D I'm happy to see that most of the guys in that picture have rockin' bodies. I will definitely tune in to see that. I'm happy to see new people and also happy to see Russell will not be on my screen this time around!
I had just come on to post that but you beat me to it. So far just looking at the guys, none of them do anything for me, and usually there's at least one.
Individual bios and short videos from CBS are added.
I think it's funny...by reading their bios, I have already ruled out and picked my favorites. One of the biggest ones for me is "What Survivor contestant are you most like?" If you pick someone I don't like...it's probably not going to make me like you!!
Wow they really have alot of older cast aways this time around.
That's because this season they're doing young vs old. One tribe is everyone 40 and older and the other tribe is 30's and younger.

Thanks. This should be a great face off.

That's one of my reasons for liking people on this show. I can't like someone who loves Survivor contestants that I don't.
Interesting twist...
