I wasn't sold on the "a lot of strategy" part either...
Giving someone a clue could lead to them being voted out though but it was a reach
I dislike Colton more than anyone that has ever been on reality TV and that says a lot because Rachel Reilly was on my TV.
Glad Rupert lost.
I'm with you there. I dislike Rachel to the point that I won't even watch shows with her relatives. That said, Rachel is more annoying than evil - unlike Colton.
I think there is some strategy in who gets the clue. It clearly put a target on John. Maybe give it to the person you want out the most. Colton would have a great choice.

Except then you become terrified that he actually finds it. Colton's target is already big enough. He'll sink himself.

If John would have shared the clue then it would have cut away the suspicion from his core group, but I do agree that it could be used as a weapon if targeted correctly. It could also come back to bite you should you give it to someone like Colton, he finds the idol and is able to use it to change the game.

Exactly. Russell basically fed on idols and it kept him in the game. You don't want a Colton with an idol. It would not project him to victory, but it could have unintended consequences.
