I thought 23 was going to be a normal season and 24 was going to be an All-Star season? Its going to be 2 males returning again I'm sure....blah Matt will be one and the other will be Fabio probably.
I was definitely looking forward to a normal season as well. That's such a bummer. Redemption Island takes away something the normal games had. The blindsides are always better when you don't get a second chance.

What does he have to redeem apart from his criminal record?
I can see why they'd want to make RI a permanent part of the game. Generally fans are quite polarized and if their favorite gets voted off, they might stop watching. This way, they can haul along NINE players to the final episode, which is HALF of the original cast.

He still didn't win. I feel as if this wasn't really about Redemption. It was more about the Russell vs. Rob and which one is better story line. Sure Rob almost won with Amber, but he still didn't win and couldn't call himself the sole Survivor after that.

I think Redemption Island is a good aspect of the game, however it should be ended after the merge. I loved it until they started it back after the merge. I really hate how the jury doesn't get to see all of the tribals. Overall, it's a good twist, but they played it for way too long.

Absolutely agreed. I feel like the people on RI missed out on the tribal councils. Not to mention going from 8 to 5 in one fell swoop is kind of anti-climactic...
I don't really like Redemption Island. It's ok before the merge, but going until the finale episode? Way too long. I hope they do some tweaking with it before next season.

It definitely didn't work after the merge. I feel as if things were really rushed and I'm hoping they learned that and can see that they should, if they even plan on doing it after the merge, not take it quite as far. When they do it again, I'm hoping there is some sort of other twist involved.

I agree with everything you said. I want them to take it back to the final 2 with 4 people in the finale. I'm sure they won't, but a guy can dream, no?
