My friend's first cousin is showing a documentary that I think is called Myth of the Mystics about Mobile's Mardi Gras and race. Her name is Margaret Brown and she directed one other movie called Be Here to Love Me about Townes Van Zandt that was a critical hit. I did not notice a mention of her movie in the articles but maybe she has yet to show.
It's tough for any reality person to break into Sundance, but this one has for years. Check out the wireimage link.

I am confused as to the purpose of her presence other then the fact she looks to be sucking down copious amounts of swag!

I am confused as to the purpose of her presence other then the fact she looks to be sucking down copious amounts of swag!
She has been a part of Sundance for at least 10 years that I know of. She was the PR director of the old "No Dance" film festival that followed Sundance in Park City for a number of years. NO DANCE is owned by actor/director Forest Whitaker. I'm always amused to read her detractor's comments posted around the internet bemoaning their wish that she would "get a real life." Her degree from Ohio University is in film, so it's not surprising that she would have an interest. She has also attended the festival in Monaco. She owns a production company that holds a decent sized archive of reality footage (over 200 hours), and has partnered with producers like Zamlan King (9 1/2 Weeks). Of course, swag is always good, but you don't get into places like Fred Segal at Sundance unless you have some pull. It's not a reality TV friendly place.
I want swag!!! LOL
I wish that Beth still blogged more these days. I always enjoyed them, I was a regular on her blogs.
I wish that Beth still blogged more these days. I always enjoyed them, I was a regular on her blogs.
She is very busy these days. I've asked her if she wants to blog, but don't sense a passion from her for it. Also, people would write to her privately and tell her what a small number negative people were writing about her blogs elsewhere. Of course, those people didn't have the courage to say the same stuff to her directly. I think she just got tired of it all.
Well, I can understand being busy and getting tired of 'haters'. A few people have to ruin it for everyone! Well, I hope when G3 starts airing she might take the time to write a blog every now and then, I always enjoyed her perspective on what goes on that we don't get to see on the episodes.
