Sarah Rice Interview
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlike some of my other interviews, this was conducted over the phone, but I have NO video recordings of it. My brain is a steel cage. xP
KENNY DRAMA & MORE...KENNY.
Oh yeah, I brought it up to her. And to many of you this may be a surprise, Kenny and Sarah are FRIENDS, and not just friends, REALLY GOOD friends. Sarah started off talking about what Kenny had brought up, the hours of footage that no one got to see of them spending time together talking, drawing, and just hanging around with each other. "Kenny is such a good guy, but there's no drama in that." She said after I mentioned how much drama there was behind it. "If people could see that, they'd understand him." Sarah also brought up how his family acts, she had spent some time with Kenny and his family after the show aired. "That's how his family is, they all make fun of each other and have a good time." I asked Sarah what made Kenny and her such good friends, and she said: "We connected on an artistic level." She then said: "We were also both the fat kids that got made fun of in school."
BOYS
I mentioned Derrick: "Aw I love Derrick he's such a great guy." We then got to talking about his baby. "His baby is ******** cute!" She said. "He's such a great dad." We continued to talk and got on the subject of Brad, I talked about his episode on the show and asked if maybe it was the fact of him losing on the show that made him freak. "I mean I think it was that he was missing Tori and then it was the losing factor." She said. "I didn't expect that from him, and certainly not Darrell."
FAMILY.
Susie spent awhile with Sarah and her family a week after they got back from the show. Sarah said that Susie had told her family: "Did you know you had such an athletic sister?" And Sarah said her family's response was less than agreeing. "They were like, yeah right." She said. "I come from a really athletic family, if there were 9 days in a week, they would work out all nine days." We got on this topic from me asking about her swimming, that she had mentioned in the Ruins. "I would say for Southern California, I'm not athletic enough...but for the challenges, I'd say I'm one of the more competitive girls."
CASEY
My blunt question: "Do you even like Casey?" was replied to with: "Casey is a wonderful person, but she's just not good at the challenges." She talked about the last challenge before the finale with the ramp saying that: "I'm glad they didn't show it, but there was a time when Casey and Kellyanne were laughing about it and just said: 'look here little *****es, im tired of losing...'."
TIME OFF
I asked her if they ever got to leave the house, or do anything other than the challenges and she said there were times: "We got off Saturdays, and they did some really cool stuff for us, we got to go on a boat, that was fun, and we also got to go scuba diving..."
CHALLENGES
When talking about the finale, you can't forget to mention the incident with Kellyanne taking longer on the bamboo challenge. "I don't blame her for the loss, but I think if she could have gone faster we would have won. If I had been by myself, I would have won I think." I also asked when the challenge took place. "I wanna say...Juuuuly? Maybe June and July."
PAVE
Sarah brought up an organization she works with called PAVE (PAVE | Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment) "I mean it's 86% of women who experience sexual violence." I asked her if she thought it affected her relations with guys. "I dated girls for a long time because I wasn't secure with men, but now look, some of my best friends are guys." I want to mention that Sarah wants girls to know that if you have been abused, that it's not the end of your life, there is help and you can beat it. I want to end the interview with this so it stays fresh in your mind..."86% is a ridiculous amount of women, and that's not even everyone, there are some women who never mention it, some who forget about it, and some who pretend it didn't happen." PLEASE, VISIT PAVE | Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment and look into it more.
Thanks!
