And I doubt it would be an Island 2 because why would they cast the same people that were in season 1?
I don't really think that they decide whether or not to cast someone based on that.
Brad, Evan, Nehemiah, Eric, Diem, Aneesa, Robin, Paula, and a few others that I'm not really sure of, were on the first Duel and here they are again.

You have a point.
Overall who do you think will be the final 5 guys and girls?
What do you mean by final five? In what context. Two teams, 14 couples?
We need a little more help or it will be like ******* into the wind (never a good thing).

Oh I forgot that their were 2 teams! My mistake V1MAN.

Are you confused? This is a thread for "The Pit," but you have named people from Duel II.

Sorry.
rw/rrjunkie said that he hoped the format of this challenge wasn't going to be like The Island, and that he didn't think that it would be because there are alot of people on this cast that were on The Island cast. I was just pointing out that might not be the case because the people I named are on The Duel II, but were also on the first Duel.

For the many others who will read this thread, it is very useful that he offered the explanation. Thanks.

She. And your welcome :)
I think those you named will largely be on their own or will become attached as throw-aways when an alliance needs to sacrifice someone.
Given that the landscape of the game and alliances has changed dramatically since Fresh Meat, I still don't think Darrell will put himself in a position as a sacrificial lamb. I like your analogy of him being in a bigger alliance that opposes Kenny/Johnny/Evan (if there is such alliance). I can see Ev working with Wes and Kelly Anne, and perhaps even Darrell, Brad and the female wildcard Tonya and perhaps Veronica as a latch on. It just depends on the type of challenge and if it's a team challenge, how the split will be.
Evelyn imo has set the standard for positioning yourself against the big alliance, and from what we have seen thus far on the Duel, people on the outs are getting smarter, or at least a set of ****** to fight.
I will say that this will be an interesting cast dynamic with a lot of internal past issues that may resurface or may be part of the past.
Personally, I think there will always be bad blood between Susie and Tonya. the Kelly Anne - Wes - Johanna situation will be interesting. The mere fact that Brad is back is intriguing, very.
Truth is is that as long as there are elimination rounds and the final number of winners is small, 8 or less ............. I think this challenge will be one of the ages.

I'd be interested in your guess for "fresh meat" syle pairings from a perspective of 1) whom the challengers would pic, and whom the winners would select

That would be cool, but don't know think the cast is a little too big for a fresh meat pairing?

The cast didn't think so before they left the US.
Well soon enough we will know the rules, format, and other things that are waiting to be answered.
It could be at nearly a month before you read any certified spoilers here.

Wow, so at the end of May? Looks like were gonna be speculating for awhile lol ;)
Do you think old hatreds like Tonya and Veronica will be re-lived? I like speculating, to myself at least, so it is ok with me if certified spoilers don't come out for a while.

Why so long? The Duel II had spoilers coming in weekly.

I doubt it, Veronica seems to be such a sweet girl, but Tonya is a nut! I think she us super paranoid on these challenges and most of the time people come on the challenges to have fun. I don't think Tonya and Veronica will have beef
Why so long? The Duel II had spoilers coming in weekly.
Because that is the circumstance we are faced with this time. Every challenge is entirely source dependent and we do not ask cast members to tell us anything when they return home because they would be violating their contract. During The Island, for example, the local newspaper was very helpful to us.

I know several cast members from "Viewer's Revenge" who would strongly dispute your characterization of Veronica as sweet. ;)

Very interesting,
Am I correct in assuming that the Duel 2 results are taken into context here?
I was unaware that Syrus won a challenge before.
If this is the case, then the challengers would be at a distinct disadvantage, esp on the female side of things. If this was a fresh meat style challenge with 2 person or even four person teams, then I'd be interested in the picking format as well. I'd really hope that the picking was random where each male drew numbers 1-14, ditto for the females and and there was a match, or for 4 person teams 1-7.
I really like and hope for a 2-person team (similar to Fresh Meat) with individual elimination rounds for M/F and new teams being formed based on elimination result. The Duel 2 is having 2 elimination rounds take place at a time, so I don't think this is far fetched.
I could only imagine the treachoury that would take place to "strengthen" your team, especially near the end before the "Final Challenge". For example Wes/Casey being a random team ............. I'd see Wes wanting to lose purposely to get into an elimination round against, say another random team Adam/Evelyn thinking he could take Adam and Evelyn would beat Casey in an elimination, thus forming a new team ...... Wes/Evelyn.

I don't think so...
Evan is listed as a Challenger, but he wins in the Duel II.
If Adam/Evelyn were somehow paired by production, she would leave.
