Russell Hantz Arrested for Battery
Maybe he will use an immunity idol to get himself out of this one? At least his chances of winning fan favorite are now gone.
One of the stars on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" was arrested in Louisiana early this morning after cops say he attacked somebody at a street festival. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Russell Hantz -- the runner-up from "Survivor: Samoa" -- was partying at the Festival International de Louisiane, when he allegedly "shoved" somebody to the pavement. Cops say Hantz was immediately arrested by Lafayette City Police -- and taken to a nearby jail. Hantz was eventually released. But get this, Hantz is still in contention to win "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" -- which is airing now on CBS ... and yes, he's one of the "villains." This is not really shocking. It's good to know he acts similar in real life aas he does in the game.
This is not really shocking. It's good to know he acts similar in real life aas he does in the game.
Thats unfair. You don't know what went down exactly. He was drunk and pushed someone. Not that big of a deal, I see it every weekend. He will still get my vote for fan fav. Well, him or Parv!
This is not really shocking. It's good to know he acts similar in real life aas he does in the game.
Interesting, I haven't seen him act like a drunken ******* yet this season.
He acts more like a troll on crack
Let's not jump to conclusions... (Even though it is fun to do just that.) There is so little information there. Was the guy blowing smoke in his face while calling his wife a dirty *****? I mean, we have no idea what went down. Normally when it comes to celebs and quasi celebs I give a little bit of leeway with these type of things being you know the type of *******s they are dealing with on a regular basis, be it stalkers, crazy overbearing fans, paparazzi or just rude people trying to get their own 15 minutes of fame. Sure, Russell is a real jerk and probably crossed a line, but I'd like to get a broader picture before setting up the gallows.
This doesn't seem like too big of a deal to me. Violence is never good but I do think there is a difference between hitting someone in the face and pushing them. It's also odd that he was immediately arrested. Were the cops just sitting there watching an argument waiting for someone to get physical so they could lock someone up? Why not try and break a fight up before is gets physical? Like Bacchus said, there is so little information and what it says he did do, really doesn't seem that severe.
It was allegedly an 18 year old GIRL who Russell shoved. Very classy.
The 18-year-old woman and a witness told officers that the woman was in a verbal argument with Hantz, during which he allegedly pushed her to the ground. The woman suffered minor injuries, Mouton said.
[via] From Melanie Hantz's facebook: Melanie Hantz DO NOT ASSUME THAT SOMEONE WAS GUILTY.. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT REALLY HAPPENED ! THEY HAVE SOME SUE HAPPY PEOPLE , THAT CARELESS WHO THEY HURT. THAT'S REALITY....SURVIVE THIS.....
Interesting, I haven't seen him act like a drunken ******* yet this season.
Not a drunken one, but I've seen him act like an ******* every episode. Not sure how much truth there is to the alleged victim's story, but Russell is just a disgusting little troll, and I wouldn't put it past him to shove a girl. He seems to fly off the handle, on the show, if a female disrespects or threatens him in any little way.
The "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" star who was arrested for battery in Louisiana yesterday claims the whole thing is a "misunderstanding" -- and is considering taking legal action against the cops who busted him. A source close to Russell Hantz tells TMZ the reality star was partying near a bar he owns in Lafayette, LA Friday morning when some random partygoer told cops they saw Hantz push a woman. We're told the alleged victim was a member of Hantz's party crew and she told cops that Hantz never touched her. But according to our source, cops told Hantz that because they had a witness statement, they were going to arrest him anyway. We're told Hantz believes the cops mistreated him during the incident -- and now he's considering taking legal action against the arresting officers. I knew he wouldn't do something like that!

Well, him or Parv!
As much glee as this gives me, we can't really say he acts like this all the time. Bar scuffles happen. But yeah - this is still hilarious haha
The 3 most important words when talking about reality stars in their real life. 99% of the time they way there are in real life is not the way the edit makes them out to be.
And that's why I put them there. I don't pretend to know exactly how Russell acts in his daily real life. But the show can only work with the material you give them. If you act creepy, mean-spirited, and make comments about dumb and dumber blonds-- the show isn't pulling that out of thin air. That's either part of your personality, or are taking the evil character thing too far. If that's the case, his strategy sucks, because people won't vote for someone they dislike.
Yeah this doesn't seem like a big deal so why was he arretsted if all he did was push someone?
Because it was someone of the opposite sex.
Because it was someone of the opposite sex.
I still don't think it was that bad. If some chick is going after me (which may have happened to Russ), I would push her away too.

Russell's BFF Boo from Survivor Fiji was also arrested at Russell's bar last weekend for, you guessed it, alleged violence toward a woman.
