Let me preface this by saying this is maybe the most subjective question ever and possibly can't be actually answered but it's worth a shot. I was hoping that one of the Elite Members or Mods could shine some light on this for me (so basically I'm looking for fact and behind the scenes knowledge and not opinion)... is Evan Starkman a good person? Like I said... subjective. But basically what I'm asking is a lot of times his character on the show is something of the villian and there are plenty of people on these boards who back up the idea that he's a villian but it seems that in his outside life that he's doing a lot of charity work and helps people. Do you know if that's all a facade and he has a repuatation of someone like Ace or if he's really genuinely a good person outside the challenges and playing something of a role for the show?
Thanks for any insight anyone has!
I think V1man once posted that he met Evan once and that all Evan could do was talk about was himself. I could be wrong.
You are correct. Beth introduced him to Evan as a form of payback. I would say it was quite effective. ;)
Ask Katie! She should give you an honest answer;)
I was thinking more of like someone who actually hangs out with Evan, not just sees them on a challenge or appearances here and there.
So basically someone that will say nice things about him?
No, just not someone who hates them because they will never say anything nice about them. Don't be a smartass. Someone who will be fair.
I don't know anyone who hangs out with Evan outside these shows but besides Mark, Derrick, Landon, & Darrell I can't stand the people that kiss his *** and follow him on the challenges.
No smartass here:D Someone that hangs out with Evan wouldn't be fair because they would obviously like him.
And neither would someone who hates them.
Actually yes, and honest person would say what they really think of them. I tell my friends their faults all the time.
You guys are mixing his real life and his challenge life a little too much. Also people are always saying how much they love drama and characters like Wes. Yet without Evan and his friends, there would have been no Wes fighting with them, no Katie arguing with them, no Tonya being teased and no drama with that, and no Veronica's storyline with Evan and that team. So without JEK like you all want, there is much much less of that drama you all love so much.
This is the first challenge I've been ok with JEK cause they did cause alot of drama however I wish they would have been screwed over and sent home and not ran the game. Also I can't base my opinion on them in real life cause I've never hung out with them in real life or seen them in their daily lives of course everything is based on the show.....

Oh please without those 3 the drama would be a lot better and more interesting instead of it being annoying. Sure they do stir the pot but I watch in disgust and dont even watch the entire show because they run things. So without them I am sure Tonya, Veronica, Katie and Wes wouldve found others to start drama with and it probably would've been better. Remember all of those challenges pre-Fresh Meat? You know the really good ones that DIDN'T have JEK? People like Puck, Ellen, Coral, Emily, Belou etc. all caused much better drama than JEK, I didnt want to strangle any of them and they kept me coming back for more each week. They didnt drive me to hate one of my favorite shows, to the point of where I quit watching like JEK and even Derrick have done.
I hope Evan never comes back for a challenge. I'm sure there are a lot of veterans who won't do a challenge if he's there. After Veronica left I stopped watching the ruins cause I didnt want to see JEK any longer! Couldn't stand them to the point of not watching the show any more =T
As much as I dislike his attitude out of three Evan has proven himself the most in challenges and in the social game as they call it. As for vets maybe not wanting to go to challenges cause of him? I doubt they'd do that, there have been many challenges where people hated each other and still went on challenges with them, hell the hatred of Evan would be a bigger incentive for them to go just to see if they can eliminate him, CT did it once so its not impossible. And if the Duel 2 is any example, vets like Mark, Brad or those don't really have a problem with Evan.
I will grant that Evan is a smart, very physically capable player. However, I sense that he is somewhat full of himself, sometimes more so outside of a Challenge than Kenny is.

Well "Smart" is debatable.
"Im starting to realize that I have to sell my soul to the devil to ever win one of these" Evan on The Duel I.
And he was right.
And thats why he's won two in a row.
I wouldn't even say that either.
Um... but... he is. He is a smart player, and he has made it far on every challenge he has been on. There is a reason for that, and that is because he is a damn good player. It doesn't matter if he is a stupid Fresh Meater, (I am assuming this is why you say this), he is still a good player at the end of the day.
