Road Rules: Past Seasons
I wanna know what was everyones favorite season. Basically just discuss road rules. Ive noticed there wasnt a thread related to road rules except the "To Return?" one so I decided to make another one. :yes3:
The only full season I've seen was Viewer's Revenge, but I've seen some of Xtreme. I really think Xtreme was an awesome season and had an awesome. Until I see the older seasons, I'll say Xtreme is my favorite.
My favorites: RR1: Can't remember much about this season because it's been so long and I don't remember seeing as many repeats of it compared to some of the others. But I know I really enjoyed it and loved the original concept of the show. The cast was interesting. I know Los caused a lot of drama and seemed really difficult to get along with. Mark and Kit were cool, and so was Shelley. I couldn't even remember the name of the fifth cast member until a few years ago, but I don't remember anything bad about her. RR 8: Semester at Sea - It was lacking the "being stuck in a winnebago element that is central to RR, so they could always interact with other people or escape. However, I still found it interesting because this one had a lot of drama. I also liked that they were still taking classes and visiting different countries all over. Veronica vs. Ayanna was pretty crazy. I couldn't believe some of the stuff Veronica did. I thought Ayanna was not being fair when she felt she wouldn't like Veronica upon first meeting her, and she obviously did as well since she tried to reach out to Veronica and be nice to her about meeting her family in Cuba. But I guess Ayanna just had a gut feeling about her that turned out to be right. Yes, Shawn, and Pawel were cool guys. Pua was cool too. RR 6: Down Under - Saw this one during RW/RR Theater one summer and got hooked on it. It was fun. Had interesting or cool people as well. I just liked watching it every day and watching the cast interaction and the missions. Piggy was quite a personality. Susie was interesting as well, and I felt Kefla was, too (dealing with being a minority in Australia).
What's RW/RR Theater?
I think that's referring to what they used to call the marathons.
I always liked Latin America. It was one of the first seasons I was able to sneak away and watch (since my parents never wanted me to watch MTV). I always liked Holly, and the first challenge where they had to get a key from one of the vicious chihuahuas was hilarious! And then there was Abe and Gladys...
I think that's referring to what they used to call the marathons.
Oh cool thanks OPD! I thought it was like a special event in which they showed all the season lol.
Oh cool thanks OPD! I thought it was like a special event in which they showed all the season lol.
IIRC, it was a special showing marathons with castmembers throwing in commentary between commercial breaks. But then again, it's been forever....
I miss RW/RR Theater! I remember watching it when MTV aired RW Seattle and RR Semester at Sea. I was able to record the RW7 Blooper/Reunion special they had hosted by Ananda Lewis i think it was, now THAT's old school. As for my favorite RR season... I'd say Islands because the cast did nothing but have A LOT of fun. They always laughed, made fun of things, they had crazy-fun missions (Like the goat milk/raw egg scavenger hunt they had), it was just overall a great season. For recent season, I'm surprised how amazing South Pacific was. It was a nice combination of old-school Road Rules with the new vote-off rule. Kevin Lee did an amazing job, and that carried over to San Diego Real World, I'm surprised how well that season was too. If you want a TRUE Road Rules season though, I recommend Northern Trail, Down Under or Latin America (or actually any of the first eight seasons). THAT was Road Rules in it's pure format. I'll work on getting some more clips up for you guys. I posted a best-of video in the Road Rules to return? thread.

I too have only seen viewers revenge and parts of X-Treme but I have no idea how im going to see older seasons of road rules. Im a true Real World Fan but everyone says road rules is JUST as good.... after all most of the entertaining people on the challenges are from road rules, I have noticed. AKA. Katie, Veronica, Abram, Tina, Rachel, Darrell, Theo etc...
My faves are as follows: RR3: Europe (R.I.P. Michelle Parma)....Loved Michelle, I loved what Belou and Antoine added to the show. And the missions were so ******. RR4: Islands: Kalle's wingwalking, Erica's dedication in the New York Knicks mission, the Volcano mission....cast was great, and so were the missions RR6 Down Under: Another great one. Same reasons as Islands. Runners up: RR5 Northern Trail: Cute, young cast though not AS exciting as the above 3. RR1: Obvious reasons. Started it off, Kit/Mark combo, Coming full circle on their voyage...
Wow I would really like to see Mark in his original season. But I think that it will be almost impossible to be able to watch tha season! =(
What's RW/RR Theater?
When I watched it, it was on during the summer. It was an hour block, I think, of a host (an MTV VJ - I remember Thalia DaCosta doing it for sure) and an audience (people out with MTV for their summer break time) watching a previous season of RW or RR. When one season was done, they'd go into another season. The VJ and audience would make a couple of comments leading into the show or just before commercial break. I watched a couple of RR seasons and RW Boston during that time. RR Down Under and RW Boston ended up being some of my favorite seasons. I think it would be good for MTV to do something like that to re-introduce some of the past cast members, if they ever wanted to cast some of them challenges. I don't think there would be a whole lot of them available for challenges, but sometimes you hear about one or two people who might have wanted to do a challenge. And then it would also show some of the younger viewers the first major BMP appearance of past cast members like Beth, Mark, and even mid RW/RR people like Tonya, Coral, Susie, Anessa, Ace, CT, Theo, etc. Some of the latest generation to watch the shows have only seen the show in the past couple of years, so it would be neat for them to see, I think. Plus, RW is still popular. I think it could possibly drum up a little interest in RR again as well, maybe.
I loved RR! I've watched them all, but for some reason I have a hard time remembering some castmembers and what seasons they were on. Anyway, of course I loved the original with (I forget her name) having sex with the youngest mayor in America. That was a interesting season. I also liked the Northern trail season as well as the Australian season. I don't remember a whole lot about these seasons other then some of the castmembers. I did enjoy when RR would pull a trick, or at least try to pull a trick on the RW that was currently filming. I remember RR, was it the cast with Oscar? , pretending to be a cleaning company or something along those lines, using this method to get into the RW Miami house to try to capture the 8 ball. Good stuff.
RR1 I liked because of Kit and Mark they had a good back and forth thing going on RR2 I liked Effie even though no one else seemed to and Timmie is probably one of my all time fav road rulers plus it was funny when they crashed the RW Miami house to steal the 8 ball RR Europe if there was any RR I would've wanted to do that would've definitely been it, that was an amazing trip RR Semester at Sea so many dynamic personalities, I pretty much liked every single person on that season, even the crazy ones, Yes and Pua were my favorites RR Northern Trails was pretty good too, I really liked Noah and Ronnie
RR1 I liked because of Kit and Mark they had a good back and forth thing going on
Their relationship totally got me into the series. The playfulness and fun they were having during the filming of the show came through the screen and made it an enjoyable experience. Although I did watch each and every season, that chemistry was never fully duplicated.
ROTFL I remember on the first season when one of their missions was to walk around a village with naked with all these fat people...That was so hilarious. My favorite seasons are the The first season, Semester At Sea and Campus Crawl. I have The Real World Hawaii/Road Rules Semester At Sea Casting Special if you guys want it.

I wish there is a place to watch these or a dvd
I posted a 10 minute clip of "Semester At Sea" of ayanna vs. veronica YouTube - Road Rules: Semester At Sea - Ayanna Vs. Veronica
I posted a 10 minute clip of "Semester At Sea" of ayanna vs. veronica
Ahh, this brings back memories. Now my initially formed thoughts of Veronica come back to the surface. I understand where my "big picture" view came from. ;)
Who knew. I watched Semester at Sea! I had no clue what either RW or RR's was about, but my stepdaughter had done Semester at Sea. I was fascinated by the show and at how crazy these kids were.
The video stopped working around the 4:30 mark...does anyone know how this ended?
Thanks for the clip. I'd seen the other one on Youtube (which I am quite grateful for as well since I hadn't seen it in so long), but I couldn't remember what happened afterwards. meonlyme25, Ayanna calls a friend over to talk about the situation. The friend asked how Ayanna knew for sure Veronica could have plagiarized her paper, and Ayanna said it was sitting by the computer and it was her paper word for word. She also says Veronica is trying to play her, but she will look like the angry black chick and crazy coo-coo and Veronica looks like the cutesy prissy one. Ayanna's friend told her she lets Veronica make her look like that and she needs to calm down. Ayanna interviews that she needs to change the way she goes about things (basically needs to stop acting crazy). She and Veronica meet with Les to go over the papers. They read some of each paper and Veronica did have a line that was exactly the same and had stuff that sounded paraphrased. Veronica's defense was that she followed the outline so they would have similar sequencing (Les pointed out they had the same sequencing and similar language). Ayanna then says she didn't use the outline given to them. Ayanna decides not to try and get revenge and instead says if Veronica wants to turn her paper in, she needs to redo it. Les thinks it's a good idea and all parties agree. I forgot about Campus Crawl. It was one of my favorites of the last handful of seasons. It was also the last season of RR I fully watched and enjoyed.
I wasn't a fan of Campus Crawl...I thought all the people and all the challenges were quite boring. I think I liked South Pacific more than CC.
I watched a couple of episodes of RR:SP for sure, but I don't remember watching most of it. I know I saw some of the reruns when they aired them - the thing with Abram and Donnell I remember watching for sure, but I don't remember watching the beginning nor do I remember watching much after one or two of the other original people got voted off. If I did I forgot about it, but I am interested in tracking down that season. I'm sure I saw a number of episodes, but I just didn't really try to get invested in it like I did with CC. I don't watch every season of RW or RR, though. I know I prefer CC to Viewer's Revenge for sure. Didn't watch Xtreme or The Quest, but I think I preferred CC to Maximum Velocity. I preferred it to the Latin America season. My memory could use some rejogging for a number of these seasons, but I just remember liking Campus Crawl for sure. It was the last season I remember getting into.
Does anyone know when semester at sea aired?
Summer 1999 Interesting, I don't know why I watch semester at sea but yet didn't watch the MVT. Wierd, I know. Although I came back and kept watching from the middle of the Quest-Viewer's Revenge
does anyone know if Emily was a bit.ch on her season too? (RR: USA 2). cause she was pretty bit,chy and mean in all of the challenges she was in (Extreme challenge, battle of the seasons, battle of the sexes).
From what I saw of USA 2, no. She was like the Sarah (campus Crawl) on her season. I remember one mission where they had to eat something or get stung by mosquitos/bees and she wouldn't do it.
I am interested in seeing season 2. I don't remember watching it. Emily does seem to be a very assertive woman, in a good way and in a bad way. In Battle of the Seasons, I didn't think she was too bad, actually. She was saying she was against voting off the highest team outside the Inner Circle. Chadwick and Holly though it was different, though (remember Chadwick sent her the nasty email?!). But that situation to me just made me more upset at her about voting off Veronica on Battle of the Sexes since she seemed against that kind of voting the last challenge - plus Veronica was the "victim" of that voting once again. Emily annoyed me a lot on that challenge, but I much prefer her to a lot of people today. She is one of the original people who was conniving on the challenges. She was a great competitor on challenges as well.
