Report: Rosie O'Donnell in Talks to Return to TV
Rosie O'Donnell is in talks to return to television, The New York Times reports. According to the paper, the former View co-host is in discussions with cable news channel MSNBC, according to executives on both sides of the negotiations. Talks are still pending. But one scenario would put O'Donnell in a prime-time slot, potentially going head-to-head with Hannity & Colmes on FOX News Channel and CNN's Larry King Live. Over the weekend, O'Donnell posted on her blog saying she could soon compete with "the guy with the suspenders and the long, long face," the paper reports. The potential confrontations common on cable news wouldn't be new to O'Donnell, who regularly traded verbal jousts with her View co-hosts, especially the conservative-leaning Elisabeth Hasselbeck. While negotiations for the show are ongoing, the Times reports that MSNBC's corporate parent NBC has been actively pursuing O'Donnell for a number of projects since she unceremonious left her morning home at ABC over the summer. This would be a credibility disaster for MSNBC. I actually watch both MSNBC & CNN everyday and would probably forgo any future viewings of that supposed "News Network" if they have Rosie "Nut Job" O'Donnell wasting precious air in prime time. All you need to do is give that psychonaught a microphone and all the shows on the network would instantly be handcuffed by association to "The Idiot." That would lower the bar and obfuscate any positive liberal democratic message from the other shows I enjoy like Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Her dark cloud of radical Loony Tunes shame and deceit would create a tsunami of bad press that would only dilute the MSNBC brand and place it in a place 20 steps below CNN and to the immediate quack left of Jerry Springer.... I really hope this is a bad hoax.
