Real World: St Thomas - Laura Waller

23 years old, from Omaha, Nebraska. Graduated from Millard West High School in 2007. Attended the University of Nebraska Omaha and Dana College, where she was a pole vaulter and likely graduated in 2011. She used to be a cheerleader in high school. It looks like at one point she worked at a bar or a restaurant. In her own words:

i like to have FUN. i LOVE my family, i am adopted, i love the lord, my friends mean the world to me. im pretty chill and i hate drama. i love music. i think you should fall in love every chance you get, you never know when that chance might come around again...
She likes country music, football, the Dallas Cowboys (particularly Miles Austin), Johnny Bananas, animals, working out, and drinking. According to her Facebook page, she is in a relationship (or at least was when she left), which might make her the only non-single castmember this season. Proof she was in LA during finals week: IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c22c76117c.png) Last tweet before going off the grid yet leaving everything public: IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c21d888462.png) IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c221a3b0da.jpg)IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c2220ed635.jpg)IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c2229cea00.jpg)IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c2246194c2.jpg)IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c25d6c12e0.jpg) All pictures have her with dark hair, but then there's this: IMAGE(http://vevmo.com/imagehosting/15504f9c2200e4c39.jpg) So that's a match. Twitter Facebook MySpace MTV Bio:
Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, this corn-fed cutie got an unusual present from her adoptive parents when she was born: a shotgun. Extremely sporty and outdoorsy, Laura's passion is leading her towards a career as a wilderness guide. Though Laura grew up in a strict household full of antiques and needlepoint, this ugly-duckling turned swan is anything but a conservative country girl. After breaking up with her ex-boyfriend, Laura has really let her inner party girl fly free. A former cheerleader for much of her life, she now does a standing backflip while drinking to test how drunk she is. In high school, Laura was booed out of the men's locker room for wanting to join the football team. So instead she tried out and made first string quarterback for the Lingerie Football League. She is also a master flirt who has high standards for the men in her life. That doesn't mean that Laura dates less frequently, she's just a pro at finding hot guys. Maybe she'll put her expertise to use in the Real World house with Trey. The problem is Laura has a reputation for falling fast and hard. Will history repeat itself?

Our puzzle is complete! Well done Molds!
YAY! Finally someone who isnt from the ******* East Coast. She's also really cute :P
YAY! Finally someone who isnt from the ******* East Coast. She's also really cute :P
Most attractive girl on the show that doesn't look skanky and seems to possible have some intelligence. Really digging the red hair with the bright and neon color outfits.

Her face looks strikingly familiar to me but I cannot put my finger on it. She reminds me of some celeb but I cannot figure out who......
Her face looks strikingly familiar to me but I cannot put my finger on it. She reminds me of some celeb but I cannot figure out who......
For me, in some photos she reminds Cooke from The Real World back to Las Vegas and in some of them, she reminds me Jenn from the Jersey Shore. But I don't think it's very important... She looks very nice and kind girl. I don't think she will be a a drama queen or anything like that. She looks good.
I dont find her very attractive, especially the pic with her in a yellow top...her teeth need to be brushed.
Most attractive girl on the show that doesn't look skanky and seems to possible have some intelligence. Really digging the red hair with the bright and neon color outfits.
So the rest are skanky? That's not cool. I like her. Shes cool.
So the rest are skanky? That's not cool. I like her. Shes cool.
Obviously I wasn't talking about all of them, please don't look into too deep. Compared to Ashley (which put on a fake cover the whole season), Jemmye, and some of the others, she looks less of a *****. Who knows, she could sleep with every guy that looks at her twice, but she doesn't give that by her appearance. Very cute.
Hmmm I dunno about being so cool, she referenced 3 word groups that throw up red flags for me (Miles Austin, Johnny Bananas, the "Lord"). We'll have to wait and see on this one; hopefully I'll see something likeable in her.

A really nice person, as wholesome as wholesome can be for a person on Real World. Will be interesting once the filming is completed as to how they portray her.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver
How was Jemmye a **** though? She was hot.
Off-topic, but just because a person is hot does not mean they aren't a ****.
How was Jemmye a **** though? She was hot.
Aside from the fact that I don't think those two things (if I'm guessing what got bleeped out correctly) are contradictory, I think the second half of your point is VERY debatable.

Jemmye was a bucketful of blah with a few cute moments. Nowhere near this Laura girl in terms of looks.
I'm a bit partial, but I think her looks and personality will make her popular. I don't think you'll find much drama with her.
Off-topic, but just because a person is hot does not mean they aren't a ****.
No kidding, plus i never suggested that. Anyway, I think Laura is not all that good looking. She looks like plain jane.
ahhh, but looks can be deceiving! Still kinda cute and genuine.
Im amazed...you guys can sum up a person by a couple pictures and a short quote. Truly amazing. I live on St. Thomas and I work at one of the bars that the cast hangs out at and I've talked to each one of them and they all seem like interesting, ambitious, and easy going people. I really dont see how people can pass judgement on complete strangers. If nothing else you have to respect them for wanting something and having the drive to go get it. For the record...I thought they cancelled the Real World back in the 90s.

As far as them being laid back and easy going, usually the cast comes off like that.

Every cast says that when negative things are said about them but quite a few of them do the exact same thing; 3. It is a TV show that plays up one or two quirky qualities of each cast member without much regard for their interests, ambitions, and overall personalities or drives; and 4. They invite it when they are cast on the show. It is no secret to how these things work. While there are few who maybe take it too seriously, it isn't as if most really care that much so passing "judgment" is a bit of an overstatement. It is more of a sharing of impressions.
Welcome Home Laura!!!!
Welcome Home Laura!!!!
Just waiting to see if she does the challenge and screws Johnny Bananas.

It's the sad nature of the Internet. If you hang around here for a while you will quickly learn who is credible and who talks out of their *******. I never form a solid opinion of anyone on TV until I meet and talk to them. That is especially true for the reality shows which rely heavily on character and storyline manipulation.
People who hide behind screen names can and do pass judgment on anyone and everything. It's the sad nature of the Internet.
Oh please? You don't honestly believe that do you, V1. And who says we're, well in general the fans are hiding behind a screen name? I see nothing wrong with it if we are. That's the beauty of the internet. I wouldn't give up being anonymous for the world. Last thing I would want is for someone to go snitch the cast members (thats in general) and start off some he said, she said mess. So don't throw everyone under the box or in a group because you say so. I mean leave the some as some and not classify everyone.

In a rather broad stereotype, yes I believe it. :victory: 2. I'm not assigning blame, it's the nature of the beast (Al Gore's invention). :sofa: 3. The initial "beauty" of the Internet, to many educators and pop-pyschologists, was the egalitarian opportunity offered. We were all to be equal -- no skin color, no Ivy League vs. drab public degree mills, rich vs. poor, etc. Of course, the people at DARPA who really did the design, did it for the best and brightest in the US defense industrial complex, not the great unwashed masses. (This is not a criticism of the design or the result; it's simply fact.) :) 4. Cream rises to the top. It's really no different here. Eventually, if someone like our new friend "BigCountry" remains with us, he will learn whose comments to value, and whose one can safely ignore. There are people who post infrequently but intelligently, those who do the opposite, those who have opinions about everything, all the time, and even some to whom no measure of facts will compel them to contemplate a change of opinion. In my experience, the majority of value I gain here is via PMs with those whose commentary in the forum attracts my attention. :flame: As for Ms Waller, I'm hoping she will be able to deliver (i.e., she will give the editors much to work with), and that the majority of us will enjoy her TV exposure perhaps more than once in CY 2012. She seems to have a high estimation of her ability and it appears to be shared by some who know her. BigCountry's contribution to that group -- not as a biased friend but rather as a "professional observer" (most bartenders qualify), both in his comments about her and his suggestions of misplaced criticism at this site, give me hope. (BTW, your penultimate sentence and the last one may need a little editing, but I think I get your intent. I'm sure you wrote them in the heat of that moment to which my comments apparently so often compel you. I don't think I've thrown anyone "under the box" (presumably "bus"); I'm usually rather direct when I think someone is off-base in their criticism, and naming names has never been a problem either). Happy Memorial Day to all, and thanks to all the vets for their service.
She looks so much like Jemmye to me, at least in those pictures she does.
Maybe its just me but she kind of remind me about Emily (RW: DC)
So far she seems likeable to me. From what I've seen of Emily on TV I have to say I like her. If Laura is anything like Emily from DC there's a good chance I'll like her too. I guess I'll see in a couple weeks! :)
