I'm absolutely certain that shooting any season in a location for the purpose of explointing cast under the age of 21 is not only a horrid idea on its face, it is contrary to the new direction the producers have said they are taking the show. In at least one discussion, Jonathan Murray (who owns Bunim Murray) opined that he embraces the sense of change and desire for Hollywood to be more substantive that the President-elect has extolled.
...oh. OK. Sorry, new to this and don't know all the gossip. Either way, Toronto is a cool city. I'm originally from Michigan, about an hour northeast of Detroit. There really is no "safe" place in the city that they'd be able to get. Detroit has its moments of greatness, but in terms of nightlife and things to do, it would be relatively boring compared to places like DC, St Louis, etc...
Yea, maybe they could live in the highrise at Ballpark Village and work for the Cardinals or something. **tongue in cheek** As if BV will ever get built.
Yeah, 10 years later haha. According to Wikipedia, Ballpark Village has to be completed by 2011 or the Cardinals will have to pay $3 million dollar in fines a year until it is completed. If they ever did shoot a Real World in STL, that does sound like a good place for them to live if it's ever built.
Estoy con usted totalmente en eso.
Muy bueno ;) P.S... I'm always learning, taking classes right now. It's a lifelong challenge.

It would be cool to see a RW in STL though.

D.C. would be sick. It's a great place. I think exploring Canadian options would be cool too! Gotta keep it fresh.
I've been wanting a Real World in DC for years! I do wonder why it makes a difference to Jon Murray, though, who is in the White House. I'm a true blue Democrat, myself, but the show is about the cast - not the president. I'd love to see the RW in Toronto or Vancouver, too. Canada interests me greatly. I even watch Canadian Idol performances on YouTube.
Vancouver would be cool as well, but I don't see them doing it anytime soon with the Olympics coming up. Property values have to be huge right now!

The Real World is as much about change in society as it is about personal growth (also defined as change) for the cast. It would be unthinkable for a season set in DC not to be heavily immersed in things politic. Therefore, it is only logical that the "politics" be of Mr. Murray's favor.

Despite the fact that from 2001-06, the Republicans owned all branches of federal government, DC is still a city that consistently votes by a 9 to 1 margin to give its 3 electoral votes to the Democratic candidate. Perhaps I lack sufficient perspective as GWB has been President ever since I was old enough to have a deep understanding of politics, but I don't see where the party in control federally has any influence over the tone of DC as a city in a way which would impair the political climate that Murray would be looking for. I guess I just don't see his logic.
I guess I just don't see his logic.
Since he owns the company, I don't think it matters much what we think of his logic. When I was listening to him talk, it made sense to me.
I have a feeling that they will never do a Vancouver because it was the setting for "The Lost Season" or wtfever. I'd say Montreal but that's not a really known location to many.
So, has anyone found at least a step to figuring out where season 22 will be filmed? Before the hollywood dailies site was taken down I saw a poll that had D.C., Orlando, New Orleans for a second time, Hollywood for a second time, and Atlanta.. But I really have no clue.
But from what I've read the mayor of Atlanta banned any MTV work being done there.. Sorry If this was mentioned before.
But from what I've read the mayor of Atlanta banned any MTV work being done there.. Sorry If this was mentioned before.
It was. We even have a thread about it. The Real World (un)Atlanta Bacchus points out in that thread that it appears to be one of those internet rumors that can not be substantiated. He found no confirming information anywhere and no one could provide a link to any proof. Absent any facts, other than any such ban will be illegal on its face, I'd suggest not to believe what you read unless it is from an authoritative public source.
I thought at one point they were considering St. Louis.
