Of course the San Fran house was small. LOL. As soon as you come out the bathroom you're already out the front door.
SAN DIEGO -- A controversial reality TV show which featured two arrests and a sexual assault investigation during its last visit to San Diego is making a return appearance. Neighbors told 10News the MTV series "The Real World" is already setting up shop inside a multi-million dollar home in the Bird Rock neighborhood, just south of La Jolla. The show has been known for its hard partying ways, and shooting is scheduled to begin within a couple of weeks on the show's 26th season at the house. MTV has been trying to keep the location under wraps, so when 10News reporter John Carroll showed up at the Bird Rock home and starting asking questions, he wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms. Eventually a member of the crew emerged and told Carroll they would have nothing to say. Neighbors, however, had plenty to say to 10News on the subject. "This 'Real World' seems like a lot of extra partying, a lot of glorifying substance abuse and partying and that's all going to be right here in this quiet neighborhood," said resident John Bannon. Bannon, said with all the extra traffic the show is expected to bring he is concerned for the safety of his two young children. Following complaints of a lack of communication from the producers, the company shooting the show, RW Productions, sent out a form letter to the neighborhood. It claims most of the production will happen inside the house with minimal disruption to the neighborhood. The 6,800-square-foot house has a pool, and Sky10 footage showed a rooftop tennis court had been covered with a life-sized chess set. It's estimated to be worth $3.5 million. The last time "The Real World" was shot in San Diego was in 2003, when the series was filmed at a restaurant that had been converted into a house in Point Loma. During production, several problems were documented. A 22-year-old woman claimed she was raped in the cast house in November of that year. San Diego police investigated, but no charges were filed. Additionally, two cast members were arrested after being involved in alcohol-fueled fights. Neighbors in Bird Rock are hoping scenes like that won't be repeated in their peaceful neighborhood. 10News contacted the San Diego Film Commission for comment, but no calls were returned.
So the Vegas cast gets a bowling alley whereas the San Diego cast gets an over sized chess board, kinda lame.
So the Vegas cast gets a bowling alley whereas the San Diego cast gets an over sized chess board, kinda lame.
Unless you play nude chess at 2 am and hump the queen... ;)
So the Vegas cast gets a bowling alley whereas the San Diego cast gets an over sized chess board, kinda lame.
And a pool and an ocean. I wouldn't complain about the trade-off.
Hmm...I'd personally prefer the tennis court.
Hmm...I'd personally prefer the tennis court.
The house is beautiful... kinda cool that they have elevators, but I did think the rooftop tennis court is kinda strange, I mean, you hit a ball and it goes straight down the cliff....
The house is beautiful... kinda cool that they have elevators, but I did think the rooftop tennis court is kinda strange, I mean, you hit a ball and it goes straight down the cliff....
Not if you don't suck at tennis.
Not if you don't suck at tennis.
Ahhh, that's where I fail.
So the Vegas cast gets a bowling alley whereas the San Diego cast gets an over sized chess board, kinda lame.
...and it's worth 3.5 million dollars, I don't understand what the big deal is anyway they would have just thrown a nice couch set up their or something for a couple grand. I mean 3.5 MILLION! On another note, it seems like The Real World can't ever keep their new location a secret. It seems like the whole country is concerned about where they're going next but only 2.1 million are concerned about the episodes.

Good point about the media coverage. rofl

Wonder how that reporter knew to "happen upon" that address??

That's a little more reasonable.
The 6,800-square-foot house has a pool, and Sky10 footage showed a rooftop tennis court had been covered with a life-sized chess set. Technically, however, I see your point about how the article was written.
