Lol at them throwing Alex and her "singing" career in the last 3 minutes of the show
I'm fine with that. She has a beautiful voice, so it is a good sell.
Alex has a good vocal and last scene of the Episode pretty much explains a lot with what's going on this season.Without Ashley ,if the threw in a dramatic girl like Jemmye type character this season would have been better

Well, this season has given me Sam, Nate, Priscilla and Alex, so I won't complain...okay, I will, the season is pretty lame, but it has some good moments in contrast to Vegas, which constantly depressed me.
I loved this episode, I actually like watching the whole dynamic of a split house, we have never really seen it before.
I loved this episode, I actually like watching the whole dynamic of a split house, we have never really seen it before.
Cancun...Brooklyn...D.C.???
I actually don't mind Ashley and Zach. To be honest, if I was living in that house, I'd separate myself from Frank as well. He's too much drama. And I must say, just because someone is introverted, not an open book, and doesn't cry and scream their emotions all of the time - it DOESN'T make them fake. Besides being intolerant of gays (which, I honestly feel they both have learned a little from Mike on), I honestly don't see anything that bad about Ashley or Zach. I find them both to be likable to be honest. I'd get along with them just because they don't make everything an issue. I thought Frank's face was priceless when Ashley kept saying how Mike was helping her overcome her previous opinions on gay people - and Frank's like, well what about me? Well, Frank, you're an ******* so you weren't really helping the gays out on that one.
I guess I'm one of the few who don't care for Ashley and Zach. Indiviually, they don't really add anything to the show like I originally thought the two of them would do. I know they are in a relationship and all but its just annoying. Basically, I'm disappointed.
They aren't as entertaining as Frank - but they also aren't as annoying as Frank. They've added a lot more to the show than Priscilla or Alex - and even Sam.

Frank was seemingly so over the top so early begging people to get into drama with him and is so quick to fly off the handle, I don't blame people not wanting to be round him much. Has nothing to do with gayness. He is just such a jerky and unpredictible person I feel he messed up the whole group dynamic from the beginning. Zach and Ashley are boring to watch for sure. I just wish Priscilla had been 21 because she seems like she would have been one entertaining girl had she been able to party.
Ho hum.....this season is so lame. I keep watching, waiting for something more interesting to happen, but nothin' I like Sam & Priscilla and I think they would have been great if they were paired with a different group of people. Nate is generic, but I think he might be interesting on a Challenge show. Frank is a train wreck. Zac is an idiot. Ashley has zero personality. Alex is lame too, but I think she has an amazing singing voice. Anyone have any leads on where the next season will take place? I used to love the Real World. Loved the old school Road Rules as well, but the last few RW seasons have been so lame :(
Anyone have any leads on where the next season will take place? I used to love the Real World.
the last few RW seasons have been so lame :(
I truly believe that B2NO and B2LV were reviving the show... the show's audience was building up again (see how B2SD premiered with nearly 2M viewers), but then the huge drop happened because this season is just... not good. Although, I must say that I enjoyed Wednesday's episodes a lot more than the other episodes they've shown this season. It was nice to see them out of the house and actually having a bit of fun, not Frank screaming and being annoying. Frank is the only person on the cast that I think is at least a bit interesting for TV, but due to the fact that he's super annoying, I prefer to not see him on my TV screen (which sucks, because this season revolves around him, which makes it even more sucky for me... lol). Oh well. Maybe next season will be better.
Derrick talks to Zach, Ashley, and Ruthie. It's pretty interesting. Derrick Kosinski's 'Ultimate Challenge Radio' Podcast: "Zach and Ashley Break Down all the Drama Surrounding Real World:San Diego
I made it 50 seconds. ****, he's awkward.
Derrick has been pretty bad on these last few without Johnny Mark or Kenny. Anytime he talks about gay issues I cringe because he sounds terrible.
Honestly, I couldn't stand Frank at the beginning of the show, but I now kinda see a bit where he's coming from with the Ashley and Zack thing. Ashley and Zack both say they're not open to new people, new places, new lifestyles, new best friends, etc. They both say they're not into hooking up randomly and are about self-control and virtue and all of that nonsense. And there's nothing wrong with any of this, all of this would be absolutely FINE except that they signed up to be on THE REAL WORLD, which basically represents everything they claim to shun and want to get away from, so it's weird. I think Ashley probably was there to promote her modeling career, but what about Zack? Why'd he audtion, sign up and go through such a lengthly casting process to be on a show that represents everything he hates?

If that were the case then they wouldn't hang out with each other much either lol. They met new people, they just didn't like some of the people they met. There's no problem with that. The Real World isn't a place to find new best friends. It's an experiment to show the lives of 7 strangers who have to live together. That's it. It's not in the contract to become bffs with all the roommates. That is real life, some people like you and some don't.

And you're right, they're not as good as with Johnny; Derrick has no direction, he always loses his train of thought, and Johnny is good at keeping him on track.

Zack is ok, but I don't really like Ashley. I feel like she follows Zack around, it annoys me.

It feels like they take 7 people who all want to be on the show just to be celebrities and distort and edit the show to try to show what 13-15 year olds who haven't seen but maybe 1 or 2 other seasons would find interesting. For instance, they have been doing the same old gay storylines forever. Why not throw in a religious zealot, a homeless person, someone who tried to commit suicide, someone who was actually at a school shooting, or the types of people who have more first-hand experience with the types of causes they address in token weak ways? It would be a far better "experiment" IMO.

They have painted themselves in a corner by picking the same type of people over and over, that the pool of people may not be as vast with game changers as some of us would hope.

There's very little we, the viewers, know about these people. Most of them, Zach and Ashley in particular, seem one dimensional. I find it hard to believe that any of them are like that in real life. Ashley comes across as fake and a follower. Zach seems to be all over the place at times and often forms his beliefs based on the opinions of others. Alex is boring. Frank is a lot of things, etc... Had there been more serious discussions, not yelling matches, between the cast members, things could have been more entertaining. Too many walls were thrown up early on (thanks largely to Frank's actions) that no one was fully willing to tear them down.

They went to the drag show to support Sam, they went to support Alex and her band, they supported Nate's projects, and they showed support for Frank's relationship with Mike. I don't get what the problem is. When 2 people in a group start dating, of course they're going to want to break off from the pack a lot more. It's not uncommon.

Why bother to participate if you can't fully engage with the rest of group from the beginning to the end? Otherwise, Nate wouldn't have felt the way he did about Zach and Ashley (even though he wasn't fully upfront about it). The same can be said of the other cast members. Frank, as always, just made matters worse. They chose to alienate themselves when there was no reason why that was necessary in the first place. In my experience, it's normal for EVERYONE to a have fun, drink, whathaveu TOGETHER when in a group setting whether or not you have been dating someone for 1 day, 1 month, etc... so I don't get what the deal is with these two. Secondly, going to an event is not the same as sitting down one-on-one and getting to know that person. It appears they did more of the former than the latter which I believe has been the root cause of their problems.
I find it interesting that Zach/Ashley hung out with Davis during their trip to NY for the reunion.

And the root of the problem is Frank making a big deal about it. The others didn't seem to care much until Frank would talk to them about it and tell them why it's such a big deal. That's the only reason it was brought up, because Frank wanted attention and Zach and Ashley weren't giving it to him. Also, I don't think any of us know the timeline of what happened so it's not fair to assume when they started "alienating" themselves.

You guys should definitely see Derrick's podcast with Ruthie, Zach and Ashley. It makes me support Ashley and Zach even more than before. They were saying how Frank was trying to stand up for everyone after they watched the early trailer because they were still in the house. And how all the supposed Gay bashing is taken out of context due to the editing. Also, Zach said he has been watching the challenges since he was in 7th grade. He mentioned the Duel 1 and some of the early cast members of the challenge like the Miz and Coral. Also, he said if he was on a challenge, he'd want to team up with CT, who he has always been a fan of, and try to go against the mob.

You can't blame editing for everything that was said and/or done. Especially when the camera is pointing directly at someone and you see/hear exactly what they said. A lot of this is about trying to save face and make excuses. That has been and will always be how people handle situations like this when they're shown in a negative light.
Lol they don't have to hang out together all the time, that's not the point of the show.
You're missing my point. No one said they have to hang out all the time together. It would have been more entertaining, IMO, had everyone interacted with each other more than they did. The show is about what happens when a group of strangers interact with each other for 3 months. When this doesn't happen often enough or when people are not fully engaged, things get boring really fast. RW-LV, for example, was entertaining in large part because Dustin had a secret going into the show and everyone (viewers) wanted to see how that was going to play out.
