Real World: Ryan Conklin - Redeploying to Iraq

I'm not giving away anything, but hypothetically if he did have to go back, perhaps it could happen after a point when we were done filming, and the rush for BMP to film after shows, afterworlds, and a reunion may or may not be in direct relation to the time constraints that any one cast member may or may not have. I'm just sayin'.
No, I know. I saw it. It just confuses me. I edited my first post to make it more clear on what confuses me (hopefully).
You do make a point, maybe he does not have to go after all?

I just found this link about Ryan...don't know if it means anything
Rumors did have it that filming wrapped early. Who knows if that has anything to do with it. Thanks for the input, Katelynn. I would never expect you to give anything away, I was just confused. I'll just have to wait and see! I hope everything goes okay for him.

I really hope Ryan is at the reunion. :(
In the next episode, Ryan receives notice at home that he is being recalled to active duty from the Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR). Following the end of the season, Ryan reported to South Carolina and then Georgia for additional training. I've elected to leave the details of any subsequent deployment (when, where) to Ryan and the US Army to announce.

My heart truly goes out to Ryan and his family. I can only hope that Ryan knows how proud of him this country is.
This show was taped around the September-November of last year time frame. Ryan has done two or three Aftershows already - so if he went he is obviously back already. Also, you can respect a person for being in the military, which I do, but still dislike his/her personality. It is ok to separate the person from their respective roles in life. I know this because someone in my family that I am very close to is in the military.
When I saw the previews, my mouth actually dropped! Hope he stays safe, no matter what the outcome.

To repeat, after the show ended taping two days before Thanksgiving, there was a press week. After that Ryan and the full cast were in NYC for the Paley Center event-- I was there and reported at vevmo on their appearance. Then the guys did a road trip to Miami with JD. After the holidays he was in South Carolina for training. He then went to Georgia for pre-deployment training. He was in California on a Saturday afternoon for the third After Show taping on January 24, Again, I was there. Wrong, wrong, wrong, and doubt is now seriously cast on your other firm convictions about things...

Man I really feel for Ryan. I'm so proud of him. I at one point wanted to go into the military but I'm glad I didn't because I'd probably be dead right now and then I wouldn't have anybody to suceed my family name.

No it isn't and sorry in advance if I offended anybody.

I just found out about an hour ago that my nephew has been redeployed as well. Ugh. Ryan, you're a brave man. Thank you for everything you've done for our country.
Much respect to Ryan and anyone else serving or has served our country!
New interview from Ryan: 'Real World' Shocker! Ryan's Recalled To Iraq! - POPWRAP | Gossip | Entertainment | News He's supposed to ship out in April. I hope President Obama and Congress gets all these kids out there and home as soon and safely as possible.

Ryan is infantry. There are plenty of jobs that don't face a lot of danger though.
You have no idea how much I agree. Someone. Anyone. Just stop it...
You guys know Obama is gonna ramp up forces in Afghanistan, right?
You guys know Obama is gonna ramp up forces in Afghanistan, right?
Yes, by 17,000 troops. If 90,000 + are pulled out of Iraq in the next 18 months that is a net gain of around 73,000 troops back on American soil. The remaining 52,000 + should be out Iraq by the end of 2011. For a total of 142,000 troops home. I think that Ryan going back to Iraq illustrates the grave issue that we currently have with our forces. They are over extended. Period. Having 38, 000 troops in Afghanistan is much more manageable than 180,000 on two fronts. Not to mention the war in Afghanistan actually has a logical reason and international support...

2011 isn't soon enough.
True, I just get the impression that most people think Obama is going to stop wars forever
Boy, wouldn't that be nice?
Boy, wouldn't that be nice?
Depends... if "stopping wars forever" means no more wars anywhere... yes. That would be nice... not realistic, but nice. If by "stopping wars forever" means the US stops caring about foreign countries suffering under murderous dictators or terrorist entities... no. I think that would be a tragedy.
Not to mention the war in Afghanistan actually has a logical reason and international support...
Did you intend for both of those to be jabs at Bush or just the second one? It's hard to tell whether you're blaming Bush or the intelligence agencies for the lack of a "logical reason"
How about we all focus Ryan? We don't have a lot of warmth here for political discussion. There are plenty of excellent places to do that.
I think you can never have a conversation about politics and no1 ever comes out angry or heated. Politics are good but I hate when people fight over it.
depends... if "stopping wars forever" means no more wars anywhere... yes. that would be nice... not realistic, but nice.
That's exactly what I am hoping for. Will it happen? Probably not. Is that every American's (and most of the world's) dream? I would like to hope so. It's definitely mine. If you're reading this Ryan, I ABSOLUTELY respect and admire what you are doing for me and my country. GET HOME SAFELY.
