really sad if people who behaved as terible and borderline criminal like Nia are the favorites. Thats not what RW ever was about now its acceptable ? Sad and pathetic.
Lol reality TV as a whole is sad and pathetic now. RW is just trying to do whatever they can to stay current, can't blame them.
Nia was my fav. She was an interesting character and brought entertainment to the show.
Then go watch the Bad Girls Club or some other trash TV. RW was a revolutionery concept and now they totally abandon their principles to get ratings. Im actually really sad about it. Violence like Nia showed is just unacceptable and to be entertained by this degree of voilence is pathetic. Inthe real Real World she would be in jail right now.
I really liked the reunion and am curious to see if the Jordan/Nia friendship lasts. As for the overall cast this season, my thoughts:
Anastasia: Really liked her. I may not always agree with what she says, but I like that she always has an opinion-- popular or not. Very chill girl and hilarious with her cone obsession. Hope we see more of her.
Avery: I'm not even sure how I feel about her. She can be so immature, but there is something likable about her.
Jessica: Even though she came off a bit fake, I truly think she always means well.
Johnny: Same as Avery.
Jordan: Loved him. His story is so interesting and even if he was a ****** at first, you can see who he really is. I hope to see him on many Challenges.
Marlon: Eh, had high hopes for him. He was just there for the most part.
Nia: My favorite. Hilarious, entertaining, and really set off most of the drama we saw in the later half of the season. Hopefully we see the real Nia next time though, I truly don't believe she is legitimately insane, lol.
Really liked this season!
I agree with this!
I think Nia is really the person she portrayed herself to be.
I know someone like Nia and she really does believe in her own bullcrap. Even during heart to heart moments where the tears are falling, she strongly feels like the world revolves around her and that everyone else mean nothing without her. That stuff she said to Brett was so hilarious because I KNOW Nia believed every word she said.lol
Reading through this I'm so glad I stopped watching after a few episodes. The fact the Real World has finally given up all efforts to even try and be a step above trash like the Bad Girls club is depressing. To think this show was once considered a ground breaking show that dealt with issues like AIDS, race and gay rights. Now it's just sold out completely into a freakshow.
LMAO, Coral trying to wrap her head around Nia delusions. Some thoughts
Coral during the violence PSA, Priceless.
Jordan trolls so flawlessly especially on Nia and Anastasia.
When Ana started crying about Jordan , Johnny and Jordan face where like da fuq? girl bye lmaoo.
After The Reunion Johnny,Joi and Jordan are the only ones I really like.
Jessica is so fake. She says she doesn't vote Nia out because she's afraid Nia will go ham on her the last few days. But then on the reunion it's because Nia was there for her the whole time? I called that right from the start when Jessica wouldn't speak against Nia on the aftershow, she is afraid of her.
What happened to make Ana so mad at Jordan? That whole crying and storming off the stage was so overdramatic in my opinion.
Apparently Jordan was never there for her? Which I found odd. If even Jessica, the one with the biggest hate on for Jordan admitted they had a few moments together, I'm inclined to believe it. She just came off as overdramatic. And throwing gum at him was low.
This whole cast is very attractive... And the colors look great on them.
Averey:
I agree with you, Fresh Meat. I don't know how to feel about her. Some of things she's done bothered me, but she has some redeemable qualities as well.
Johnny:
Holy **** his lil bro looks exactly like him
He had the funniest smile on his face when Ana confessed her crush on Jordan.
Marlon:
"It goes against my religion but I can't say I wouldn't do anything with a guy again". One of the reasons why I think being overly religious can be toxic to people's personal health.
I feel bad for him, they barely asked him any questions, and barely showed him.
Ana:
Holy crap she had a crush on Jordan... why do I feel like every girl who had an issue with Jordan hated him because he didn't like them as much as they did
Nia:
Not gonna lie, she had a lot of potential to be my favorite, but her TV character isn't something I agree with. Is it funny? Yes. It's funny to me to watch people act like fools. But it would've been much better if she hadn't worried about making a name for herself and getting high ratings. At the end of the day, we're talking about her, yes, but ratings still failed and now she looks bad and brought a lot of negative attention to the show.
Jordan:
Jesus... wouldn't be surprised if the person who styled him was also in charge of Heather's hair on the Vegas reunion... *shivers*
It doesn't look bad, but he belongs on A Bronx Tale with those clothes and that hair.
Damn... Picking up Ana's gum and chewing it was an OG move. Nasty, but badass.
Jessica:
Saying "hair pieces" instead of "weave" or "extensions" was cute.
Joi:
Is this the first RW season where everyone isn't on stage from the beginning? Looks like BMP is trying to make an example out of her
Daisy:
Why do they think it's cute to make her "talk"?
Coral: My God, she looked amazing. I want her lipstick.
"Averey was being her Averey self..." PERFECT QUOTE IS PERFECT (and can be applied to anyone)
And yes, her reading the violence PSA was hilarious.
Loved the new challenge promo.
My main issue with Ana now is that she claims she doesn't agree with violence, but we see her hit CT, and she proudly says "And it was one of many". Really?
My main issue with Ana now is that she claims she doesn't agree with violence, but we see her hit CT, and she proudly says "And it was one of many". Really?
I predict that when you finally see the challenge episode in which this "violence" occurs, you will find CT full of mirth at Ana's attempts to retaliate for something a bit humorous.
What happened to make Ana so mad at Jordan? That whole crying and storming off the stage was so overdramatic in my opinion.
YES! Maybe this is not correct but to me she appeared to be drunk out of her mind.

Y'all thought Johnny Mosely was a bad host, Coral was pretty boring. I really hope they bring back Maria Menunose for the next reunion. At least she got some T out.

I thought Coral did a great job.

How could you be bored with Coral?? That whiny nasal voice she used every time she referenced anything Nia did on the show was absolute gold.

I thought Coral did a great job too, her opening was fantastic she took it right to Nia which was really satisfying.
What was up with them not looking at the person they were talking to? I noticed it a couple of times with Joi, Averey and Johnny.
Anyways, did Joi get one of those clips where they explain their current life? I know Daisy did.
Judging by her jawline I'd say that Nia probably has some good sized balls on her...so I don't think Jordan should be too concerned about the comparison.
This was the best post in the entire thread! I never understood why anyone in the house thinks she is pretty her facial bone structure makes me wanna hurl.
Y'all thought Johnny Mosely was a bad host, Coral was pretty boring. I really hope they bring back Maria Menunose for the next reunion. At least she got some T out.
...and this was probably the worst post of the thread. Coral asked every tough question, she had knowledge of the season, she challenged the cast members with her questions, and she stuck it to Nia. What else could you ask for in a host; and what kinda brought it all full circle is that Nia is like an evil Coral if you compared the two. Nia sees their similarities in personality and respects it, in fact Nia talking twitter smack to Coral is her own way of honoring the original "bad b" (for lack of a better term) of the real world.
Check out this blog by someone who sat through the entire reunion taping. He as great insights. His experience mirrors my own memories of that cold MTV studio. I found the blog through Coral's recommendation of it. (And am I the only person who didn't realize that Coral is pregnant?)

Coral's pregnant??? Whoa. Congrats to her!
That was an interesting read. I thought it was interesting, though not surprising, that there initially wasn't a house-vote. Sounds like Johnny and Averey had made their decision but the producers wanted them to have the vote for the episode. Also interesting that the whole cast hates BMP. Not surprising considering how much violence they let slide and what they're letting cast members get away with these days.
I loved Coral hosting. Although she had to defend herself on twitter from Nia's fantatics blasting her for "attacking Nia and not calling out Johnny and Averey" She said did and she called out Johnny a lot for the way he treated the girls, but MTV didn't air that because obviously Nia stuff is more interesting.
Whoa didn't know Coral was pregant. She did look beautiful and glowing. Imagine how huge are pregnancy boobs are now! Her back must hurt!
Overall this reunion was especially boring if you've seen the after shows. The St Thomas reunion was 10 x more entertaining. Although I found it sad because of the way things happened between my faves Robb and Marie.

Exactly.

I blame them. To ignore what BMP has done to a venerable icon of reality TV is much akin to the conversation between two 19th century literary characters of some note:

Cheshire Puss, asked Alice. Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here? That depends a good deal on where you want to go, said the Cat. I don’t much care where, said Alice. Then it doesn’t matter which way you go, said the Cat.

BMP and MTV have continued to make poor choices in so many things related to The Real World. As some point, analyzing them one after another becomes tedious at best and at worst, pointless. One wonders who the very talented people who did such good things with the series in that past have so badly stumbled. I have to wonder if J.K Rowling's observation is correct:

Can't argue with that. And they've made bad choices with the challenges also..But that's a different discussion in a different thread.

"Action is Character" --Syd Field, screenwriter widely considered one of the best
"It doesn't matter who I am underneath but what I do that defines me." -- Batman, Batman Begins (just put in the pop culture reference)
Both of those statements, coupled with Rowling's should not only be looked at for BMP but for Nia's actions. You can say anything but how you act demonstrates more about who you are than anything.
This season was overall alright. I think it was good in the beginning, boring in the middle, and ended decently. The fact that Marlon and Jordan seamed pretty excited about Rivals 2 leads me to believe they do very well. Also Marlon was excited to talk about it on Afterbuzz as well. I have stayed away from the spoilers this season, and have even refused to watch the trailer since last seasons trailer gave away some elimination rounds. At the end of it all Portland was better then San Diego or St Thomas so I guess its a step in the right direction...
The fact that Marlon and Jordan seamed pretty excited about Rivals 2 leads me to believe they do very well. Also Marlon was excited to talk about it on Afterbuzz as well.
I noticed he almost gave away how well they did during the Reunion. "Yeah, we did real--we had a good time, didn't we, Jordan?" -- Marlon, when Coral asked him about Rivals 2
So is there an actual explanation anywhere for where production was during that whole fight between Averey/Nia/Johnny and why that whole thing was okay? And why Nia soliciting someone to assault Jordan was okay?
I'm really interested to know. I've heard an interview with Jordan where he says that BMP figured this might be the last season of the Real World so to get ratings they told the castmates that if a fight happened in which the two combatants were willing participants, they'd let them go at it. But I've also heard an interview with Averey where she says that she and Johnny were NOT willing combatants and actually retreated to their room, only to be constantly verbally abused by Nia in addition to her throwing multiple drinks on them...and that during this time, Averey placed more than one phone call to production telling them that she and Johnny wanted to leave, and production apparently drug their feet in responding. It basically sounded like Averey was calling them for help, and they ignored her. Pretty terrible, IMO.
How can BMP get away with that? I'm usually not all about suing people, but I mean, why aren't Johnny and Averey suing them? Isn't it in their contracts that physical fighting will lead to getting kicked out of the house? I'm just trying to understand what the heck happened to that rule, as it seemed to be pretty strictly enforced in prior seasons.
Jordan said he and Marlon were told separately that production would not interfere and that Nia was throwing all sorts of drinks, basically anything with liquid in it, at Averey that she could get her hands on for quite a while. He suggested it was a good thirty or more minutes.
Averey even stated that she and Johnny had already checked into the hotel and production made them come back to do the house vote which they did not even want to do. I also read that pretty much everyone does not like BMP after their experience.
I don't know how they are getting away with it and IMO, Nia ought to have been arrested but may that's just me.
