Real World Hollywood: Ep. 8 - It's a bad day to be a Donkey
Synopisis: Will runs in to Real World Key West alum Janelle and the two get to talking about the music biz. Joey returns from rehab. Greg gets his plane ticket home and remains bitter to this day. It has taken us eight long event filled weeks to get here, but finally Greg will be sent on his way (DA BOOT!) I can't properly sum up in words the happiness that I feel at this very moment (and I have not even seen the episode!) Whatever the details are, I don't care (although I guess I'll watch) - The *** has been kicked off the stage he covets and the show will be better for it. I am sure there will be plenty of discussion tonight about how, "gReg iz te GREEtEst R3AL W0RLDrz EVAAAAAH!" - but those of us that have any sort of higher cognitive function will revel in his departure and make plans to enjoy the remainder of the season with a sense of prideful satisfaction. That being said, it looks part the episode will focus on mack daddy Will meeting up with Janelle. It seems Will is not very good with women (or maybe REALLY good.) I hope it is not the latter (i.e. player without heart) - but he sure did screw up relationships with two very attractive woman (Janelle/Parisa) in short order (and the details of those breaks are not pretty.) As for Joey, It is going to be hard to watch his return as we know what is in store. The Real World house is the last place a person would want to go after completing a treatment program! Go Ahead And Update The Main Page With This. Lol.
Will is a player, nothing wrong with that, but he doesn't seem like the relationship type although he says he is. p.s. what did Greg do to you personally for you not to like him. Just curious man.
Nevermind, I just went back and read the Greg Halstead thread from the very beginning, I could see why he's not well liked around here.
what did Greg do to you personally for you not to like him. Just curious man.
First of all, I'm just not into people who think they are "The Chosen One." Narcissism is a disease that needs to be treated. Obviously (from his rampant whining on facebook et al) he is still in need of a cure. Secondly, I personally don't appreciate being called a peasant (nor should anyone.) It is offensive and shows that he has a sense of entitlement that is throughly misrepresented by his measly status. There are actually a million reasons (which I do not have the time or desire to jot out at this juncture) why I don't like Greg. The last straw was him coming here and mouthing off like the lil' ***** that he is.......and even though we laid the smackdown on him so hard he ran like a little girl hiding from the cookie monster, there is still bad blood. Such is life. Good riddance I say.
Nevermind, I just went back and read the Greg Halstead thread from the very beginning, I could see why he's not well liked around here.
Yes, that is part of why he is not liked around here. We talked some smack about all the cast members before the season started (as is customary here) but he is the only one that in his replies dug a hole so deep - there was no way out with me (or this community.)
Bahhhh Bahhhh....the sound of all the sheep following your lead bacchus and dislking Greg "the person". Personally, I view these people on the Real World as characters on a television show, which is what they actually are. Should Greg have come to this site and made a really bad impression....probably not. But, the fact remains, he brought more excitement to the Real World than the last three or four seasons combined. I am not saying Greg is a great guy and I'd hang out with him. But, for purely entertainment purposes, he takes the cake. A trainwreck that I cannot stop watching. I worry that the rest of the season is going to feel like the parties over and we're the last couple of guests left. It reminds me of the last season of 24 for anyone who watches it. Jack Bauer caught the bad guy with about 4 or 5 episodes left, and the rest of the season was pointless. When all is said and done the same will be said about this season of the Real World.
Ok, it has been months since I've logged in on this site... I read a little before the show started and I thought it was odd that everyone was judging ppl for judging. Then I was like boohoo, who cares, it is funny!! That said I am really enjoying this stuff. I do not personally take offense to anything I read about myself. The only reason I signed up is bc the synopsis for ep 8 made me almost pee my pants. That fact that Bacchus wrote "gReg iz te GREEtEst R3AL W0RLDrz EVAAAAAH!" was more than enough to make me register and give credit where credit is definitely earned!! Thanks for entertaining me for a bit! Take care and enjoy the best show of the season at 10pm!! Kimberly
Thanks for entertaining me for a bit! Take care and enjoy the best show of the season at 10pm!!
I have fluffed the pillows on my couch and have the jiffy pop on standby. The anticipation is almost overwhelming.... Welcome to Vevmo Kim and thanks for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts (stoking my ego by complimenting my humor always works, always!) Just a note: As rough as it is to be judged for a ratings driven dramatic edit of your life, in the end you will come out a better person for it - and I am sure you know that. Unlike Greg, you are growing from the experience and that is what the show is about. Of course, I can already see the hate just steaming out of the Vevmo server as the "killjoy brigade" descends on your post, lol. ;)

Joey Is By Far One Of The Best Castmembers Ever!
oh man....so we basically get the new roomies next week
I know that beating up on Sarah's generally haughty persona is a favorite pastime on Vevmo, but I was very impressed with how she was there for Joey. All he needed was a friend that cared coming hot out of recovery and she "surprisingly" offered to be that friend. I have to give her mad props for being the only human (as Joey would put it) in the house during his time of desperate need. I wanted to like her when the season started, but something about her drove me nuts. However, maybe this is where she turns over a new leaf (in my eyes.) I hope so, as the "caring friend" Sarah is someone I'd definitely want to meet.

Sarah Definitely Is The Level Headed Friend You Want To Have In Your Life

I am starting to see her differently now...she's not a saint (but who is, lol), but she is human.
Any thoughts on Janelle and Will? I thought Will was playing a little too hard, but hey....even if the delivery is a bit wild, as long as you get it across the plate for a strike - it counts. ;)
Janelle seems very high maintenance, I thought that when her season aired as well, and Will's game cracks me up.
Janelle seems very high maintenance
Yup.
I personally wouldn't put it past Sarah to have done that more for appearances sake than genuine concern. Maybe I'm just cynical?? ;) Oh, and Kim dropped in. Uhhhhh, neat.

I actually liked Sarah this episode. I didn't agree with her parting thoughts on Greg though. I say that because the other roommates didn't show much concern for Joey either. She was the only one that reached out to him.
I think Greg should have just gone to the improv to stay on the show but he got what he wanted I guess. Will could have at least stepped up when Charna asked if anyone had anything to say. After all, Greg was the reason Will didn't get kicked off when he threw shit at Greg and pulled a knife on him(he told MTV to keep him on the show in the production room b.c he wasn't a threat), but what else do you expect from Will. Someone tell him to get another sweater. He wears that grimy Detroit sweater every single episode. I'm actually looking forward to the reunion show for once.
WOW, ONE FREAKIN NIGHT!?!? That was some seriously selfish *** behavior. You LOVE THE GUY SO MUCH, STAY HOME WITH HIM THE DAY HE RETURNS FROM REHAB!! Who does that? I would stay home for a week, yes, even when I was 20 sumthin. Where is the love? My script has flipped and Sarah is ok (but still a bore) and Bri is just a self gratifying fiend. Her and Joey were supposed to be " SO COOL"...uh huh. Her little speech "I don't owe you anything" was pathetic. I am starting to think Joey will be ok and maybe even hit it big. His story has wrenched a lot of hearts out there and who isn't pulling for him? Will could have said something for Greg, but whatever...done deal.
Bri is just a self gratifying fiend. Her and Joey were supposed to " SO COOL"...uh huh. Her little speech "I don't owe you anything" was pathetic.
I agree. I am sure it was a product of her upbringing, but she was entirely off base. When a person is down, it is an opportunity for others to rise to the occasion. She obviously didn't get the memo (and Sarah did.)
I am starting to think Joey will be ok and maybe even hit it big. His story has wrenched a lot of hearts out there and who isn't pulling for him.?
Joey is nice and rough around the edges, which I think adds to the "reality" of his presence. I'll bet his big break is just around the corner. He has a lot of fans and everyone that I talked to before the season started told me he was going to be the person this season would be remembered for (in a good way.)
Will could have said something for Greg, but whatever...done deal.
That was my favorite part of the episode and if Will would have said something it would have totally ruined the moment. Dave's smile was hilarious. ...and then Greg at the end pronouncing in the confessional, "No one said anything!" - Dude, maybe in that moment you finally got it, but I doubt it.
