Actually, Jonna's name is supposed to be pronounced "john ay", not "juh nay"...I don't think she cares that much though, all her roommates called her that xP
The name Lars is EXTREMELY weird to me.
The name Lars is EXTREMELY weird to me.
If it's any consolation, Lars was originally on the list because I completely forgot about Puck. I decided to bump him off though because at least Lars is a real name that I have heard before. Still, I agree it's a very weird name.

I like the idea about making a list of the names. I also agree with majority of the list. The RW Boston really did have some different names, didn't they? I disagree with Anessa, Shavonda, and Kameelah being odd (I've heard of them elsewhere, especially Kameelah), BUT they are a bit different than some of the other names of RW people not on the list, so it makes since they are considered odd for the list. Now, Kameelah is actually a "normal" name for an African-American girl. And yes, spelled that way as well. It's not one of those names someone just decides to make up by throwing together syllables, either. I'd have it lower on the list or not on at all. I've heard of Irulan before, too. Only once, though. I thought Trishelle sounded more like a name that a black girl would have. Puck is a nickname, so I don't think that is really odd, because nicknames can be funny and sometimes have reasoning behind them. Heard of Alton before, too. Food Network? Alton Brown. And I am reminded of the similar name Elton, which was a guy in Clueless. I think Judd and Shauvon are kind of different. Judd for a first name, at least. I think I'd replace a couple of people with those two, personally. But perhaps there are people who see those as more common than the names on the list. Or for me I'd put Syrus on the list and take someone off (probably Kameelah, Puck - since it's a nickname, and maybe Brittini - odd spelling, but there are plenty of spellings people use for that name). Think I'd put Tecumseh, Irulan, Jacquese, Genesis, and Montana further up on the list, too. I think it's a great list overall, though. And it was fun to think about. I'd have trouble ranking them myself. I think the top three should definitely be up there.

Ace is a nickname as well. His real name is Clyde. BTW, I went to HS with a girl named Jacinda. It doesn't seem that weird to me. I think it's kind of pretty. Also, what about Parisa? That's different. I think it's super pretty... but I've never heard that anywhere else.
I went to HS with an Arissa, so that one doesn't seem weird to me, but I can see why it would to others. Great list, although I think Ayiiia should be number one cause three i's is just overkill.
Yeah I know Puck is a nickname, which is actually originally why it wasn't on the list, but I can't think of a time where he was actually called David so I stuck to it. And take the numbers with a grain of salt, it was more about which 25 names I thought were the strangest. I agree with some of you about Shavonda, Kameelah, etc. not being as weird as I suggested but I went with them anyway. And yes Ace being a nickname is one of the reasons I didn't include it. Mostly because Clyde isn't much better, and I'd rather be Ace than Clyde as opposed to being a Puck instead of a David. If that makes sense? I was close to including Shauvon, because in my opinion that is the white trash way of spelling that name (Siobhan), but oh well. No offense to anyone who has or knows someone with that spelling though. :p And Insider, I actually do agree about Jacinda. The only reason she is at the number she is at is because I kind of threw her in the list last minute. Otherwise she would be lower down or not on it at all. The whole point was really to show how for some odd reason this show manages to find the oddest names. But yeah, my list isn't definite or anything but still it was kind of funny. Some seasons it almost seemed like their criteria was "weird name" (Cancun anyone?)
Yeah, I mostly thought Shauvon's spelling is totally different and makes the name seem different in a way. I think of Puck as David when I think about him arguing with L.A. David on BOTS, with N.O. David trying to be the mediator! I think casting a lot of people with different sounding names is cool - and in a way, important since most of the audience only know the casts by their first names during the show. I guess I kind of like it because my name isn't super common, too. Lately they are getting too many people with the same name, but as long as the person is interesting enough or fits for the show, it's fine. Just kind of odd when you get back to back seasons with people of the same name (though spelled differently). And it makes it a bit more confusing when talking about multiple cast members from the shows.

I think we can safely ban Emily's, Sarah's, Ashley's, David's, Mike's, Ryan's, Dan(ny)'s, etc. for a little while anyways. Well technically there are only two Emily(ee)'s and Ryan's (well three counting Knight), but they are all so close together season wise ha. Oh and the Puck/David mediation thing is hilarious to me. I never realized that watching before.

I have a sister named Genesis and I still find that name weird as ****, and feel it deserved its spot on the list.
FYI...Colie was in the last group of 10 during an open casting call. As they were being dismissed she stood up and said " I wrote Nicole on the application, but everyone calls me Colie". Whats in a name?
I wonder if Knight would have actually gone by Knight had he been the only Ryan in the house. Didn't he introduce himself to McKenzie as Ryan?
I wondered that as well. I think he would have. That's why I thought the other Ryan was such a d-bag for the whole "don't introduce yourself as Knight" because I just kind of figured they were told ahead of time that there were two Ryan's and asked if they go by anything else.

He's more of a girl anyhow.
How about this one- what were the most shallow/vapid seasons. I mean seasons that lacked any depth and were mostly focused on hook ups and fights? 1. Denver 2. Sydney 3. Cancun 4. Austin 5. Hollywood (as much as it pains me to admit.) I think the Joey story was the only thing about Hollywood that really made the season interesting.
I actually truly think Austin was one of the deepest seasons out there. It had Danny and Melinda's love, we watched it grow throughout the season which was awesome. It had Danny's mom dying. Nehemiah struggling to make something of himself and following his dreams with film school. I think if you were going to do shallowest season Las Vegas would be up there for sure and so would D.C. Yeah it was supposed to be all political but it had no social issues explored except for a bit with mike.
I honestly feel like an idiot for not putting Las Vegas on the list. It was by far the most sexual driven season. I edit my list to: 1. Las Vegas 2. Denver 3. Sydney 4. Cancun 5. Austin

Trishelle not feeling loved and accepted by her dad and grieving the death of her mother. Alton still dealing with the loss of his little brother when he was 14 and his homophobia twords gay people thanks to almost being molested. Arissa dealing with her family issues back home. THE AWESOME ANNE EPISODE. Brynns panic attack. Altons & Irulans relationship blossoming. Trishelles pregnancy scare... But yeah d.c. was definitely one of the most pointless seasons ever... and to the person who said Sydney idk....it had Tricia's ignorant racist comments and her homophobia. Isaacs grandfather dying. okay nvm your right those were one of the only serious issues that season. BUT I LOVED REAL WORLD SYDNEY.
I absolutely love Sydney but it was very shallow.
I would love to see Tricia on a challenge or Parisa
Denver was and will always be my favorite season, because it was the first one I actually watched on tv (I went back and watched Las Vegas, and seasons 15, 16, and 17.) Then of course I watched Sydney - now. I really liked every single season except Philadelphia (waste of time), Brooklyn (I think because I was used to all the drama in all the other seasons) and the only thing I liked about DC was Mike and Ashley.
you must be a newer fan of the Real World.
I don't think any season will ever top Hawaii! It was the perfect mix of partying, ***, and real issues. I think that the only other season that comes close is Hollywood! After rewatching a bunch of seasons, my top 5 are: 1)Hawaii. 2)Hollywood. 3)Vegas. 4)Back to New York. 5)Denver.

The best RW season were from Seasons 5 to Seasons 12 and count Paris and San Diego. So Miami,Boston,Seattle,Hawaii,New Orleans,Back to New York,Chicago,Las Vegas,Paris and San Diego.
Hollywood was amazing! It hasn't been topped since it aired and probably never will be... I think San Diego is really close to Denver, but I really just loved Denver. It was so much drama and had an amazing cast :p
Alright so I was thinking earlier now that the new season of New Orleans just premiered first episodes are always so Crazy...its interesting to see what happens usually within the first 48 hrs. of being in that house and what the editors try to hook you with... Lets see who can recall every bit of serious drama thats ever occured on a premiere I'll start from what I've seen and heard: Las Vegas: The Tris****e Vs. Frank Vs. Stephen Episode... Paris: Leah bites Ace on the *** in the hot tub San Diego: Frankie got sick as **** and cheated on her boyfriend and threw up everywhere Austin: Danny gets punched in the eye by that random dude Key West: Paula has a freakout in the car and starts yelling at everyone Denver: Jenn betrays Colie by sleeping with her mancrush Alex (stupid premiere) Sydney: Girl Drama D.C.: Mike and Ty get in that argument about religion New Orleans II: Preston and Jemmye vs. Ryan
My recall of the Denver premiere was seeing Colie's Tulane graduation (and myself in the arena watching). Motherhood allows you to wear blinders.

If she did what did you think when you found out she was going to audition for it? When she got on?

I never heard of the show until I was in Hawaii and " Ruthie " was partying at another table. I asked my waiter what was going on and he tried to explain RW to me. He then said call your kids they'll know. I called Colie and she rapidly explained RW and who Ruthie was. Obviously she watched. She happened upon the audition in a mall while spending her evacuation semester at Boston University. Neither one of us took it seriously until BMP started flying her all over for interviews. Our reality at the time was getting her back to New Orleans and graduating college on schedule. When she received the call that she was chosen to be a roommate is when I watched my first episode of Key West. My reaction was those kids are crazy, my daughter would never do things like that........Go now!
