I totally forgot about Portland. Definitely on my list.
So cultural, (very Liberal-which I'm sure Jim Johnston would like), great night life, great food/restaurants, beautiful back drop with rolling hills, bridges, and rivers throughout. It would be perfect for the RW.
UGH. I personally could think of at least a couple handfuls of other cities that would offer more interesting backdrops, but that is just me... Here is my latest idea: Real World Silicon Valley. Go back to the (failed) business theme of The Real World Miami, but this time make sure the cast is dedicated (i.e. already pursuing projects on their own) and give them some feed money to try and put together an internet start up! Ok...that is more of a computer geek's dream season. :D Anyway.. I think Dallas or Houston would be great. Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale. Tampa/St. Pete. Savannah or Charleston. Atlanta or Athens. Nashville. Aspen. San Juan. Vancouver. Toronto. Quebec City, heck even Halifax ...to name a few that I would rank ahead of Cleveland, Detroit or Minneapolis.
Yes.Yes.Yes.Yes. They need to come to Dallas!!!!! North Texas is growing fast!!! :D
If they went to Montreal/Quebec City I would hope that they would cover their goal of seperation from Canada. It's true the whole province of Quebec is very different then the rest of Canada. I also know a few people that live in Halifax/go there annually it has a good background and sceneray but generally lots of places in Canada do. I personally like to see stories come from cities. I like Minneapolis most personnally for it's level of live theater and other arts which it has a vast array of. I guess I like it but what it's known for is kind of sad, the twin cities. I guess we will just have to disagree.
I personally like to see stories come from cities.
Hey, I don't think The Real World is going to Halifax anytime soon, just saying... New Orleans Population: 336,644 - (Current Real World City.) Halifax Population: 394,600
New Orleans Population: 336,644 - (Current Real World City.) Halifax Population: 394,600 Hey, I don't think The Real World is going to Halifax anytime soon, just saying...
whoa I thought new Orleans was larger, that's about the same population as Arlington.
This is my top 5(in no particular order) 1.Toronto: it's just awesome. 2.Portland 3.Minneapolis 4.Alska maybe Juneau or Anchorage this area is unknown to me and intriques me allot. 4.Puerto Rico/guam just awesome places.
Some cities I think would be good: Canadian: Vancouver Montreal Calgary (a party season during the summer, over stampede time would be awesome) US: Portland Houston or Dallas Juneau or Anchorage Atlanta Oklahoma City Memphis Puerto Rico (technically part of the US I suppose) International: Melbourne or Brisbane Auckland Hong Kong Dublin Amsterdam I could probably name a LOT more international cities but those came to mind first so I'll stick with that.

Fun fact: Season 7 of the Real World was SET for Dallas, but due to last minute issues with license agreements, the season re-located to Seattle.
Wow, thankyou for that info. I wonder if had the season aired in Dallas, would the show now be completely different?
Probally not It would have maybe been a better experience Without all the hecklers
Probally not It would have maybe been a better experience Without all the hecklers
There weren't nearly as many hecklers in 1998 as there are now.
There weren't nearly as many hecklers in 1998 as there are now.
Oh cause I remeber them saying that the peole of Seattle hated that they were there and constantly harresed them.

They were... but I can't say they had it worse than any other season... It probably would've have been any different had the season been in Dallas. The only reason why I know about Dallas is because I remember hearing about semi-finalists being asked about what goals they want to accomplish in Dallas. Not to mention one of the old You Never Saw RW videos had an advertisement for one of the books and it said "Application to be on the next Real World in Dallas!"
I know Chicago had more hecklers than in Seattle to the point they would disrupt filming. I still think the Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe area needs to be done. It is the 5th largest metropolitan area in the US, has lots of opportunities for culture/history exploration, and a tremendous nightclub scene. Just think of how in shape the cast will be for Challenges if they end up running rickshaws all over Old Town Scottsdale.
Woah. This actually is starting to sound like a diverse, not-boring cast. Phew, and I thought this season would be like Cancun.
What are you talking about. Cancun was diverse. You had the Bi-racial black girl, two Spaniards, and one wanna be ghetto black chick. Wow, I didn't realize how diverse that season was.
What are you talking about. Cancun was diverse. You had the Bi-racial black girl, two Spaniards, and one wanna be ghetto black chick. Ayiiia & Derek-Latino/Mexican Jasmine-black Jonna-Bi-racial (black/white) and then Emily, Bronne, CJ, and Joey.

Cancun was ethnically quite diverse. In my opinion, that didn't necessarily make for a great season, they didn't really mention it much or discuss people's backgrounds too much. It was mostly partying. I guess some people like those kind of seasons, though, they have to mix it up. Personally I think it was the location and that some of those people had the potential to be deeper than was shown, but Cancun is all about partying. Anyway, I'm excited to see what the New Orleans cast has to bring to the table. Great detective work so far!

Emilee confirmed this on here, somewhere in the Cancun threads.
Ayiiia & Derek-Latino/Mexican Jasmine-African American Jonna-Bi-racial (black/white) Emilee(25% Black and 75% White) Bronne, CJ, and Joey(Caucasian)

Cheerleader, and Bronne is a boxer in JROTC and a history major.

Ok, how about.... RW: London RW: Singapore RW: Tokyo RW: Portland I don't want to watch people drive taxis and work at Casino Arizona. God that sounds so depressing to me.
At least 2 challenges premiere every year and two RW's. So one challenge will come during the spring and another late fall/early winter. I don't know where they will film the next RW after New Orleans (out of US). Great chance they will head to Canada soon because there are more things you can do there such as drink at 18 and smoking. Another place for a Real World they will go to is Alaska I'm betting (snow environment hardly no cars). Of course they will do a back to Las Vegas sometime.

Because even if they were "legally" allowed to do it in Canada, I HIGHLY doubt that BMP would show that on television.

I thought Manitoba was 19 now too. I could be mistaken, it's the one province I've not spent much time in (only been there once for about 2 days, not looking to go back lol) It is NOT legal to smoke weed in Canada unless it's medically prescribed. It has been decriminalized so you get a fine instead of a drug charge. But even if they went somewhere like Amsterdam where you are allowed to smoke weed, I'm pretty sure there's no way they'd show that on MTV. Drinking age in Mexico and Australia is 18, so the cast members under 21 could drink in the Cancun and Sydney seasons. They've never really mentioned anything about that though, as far as I can remember. It seems like everyone is always drinking anyway.
Well they did a RW in Paris, Sydney, and Cancun and those weren't part of the US. As big as Canada and Alaska are they'll do a season of RW up in both of them. Where in Canada? I don't know. Probably Toronto or Quebec. Alaska would be a unique place to go.
