Using your comment as a springboard, and not intended personally... If one is a member of this site and contributes somewhat regularly, then your association with vevmo represent a risk to the producers that you may leak something to this site in one way or another if selected. Given the 25K candidates they already apparently have for the next season, there is no logical reason for them to take the risk of a vevmo member over someone unaffiliated with this site. Is it possible that you might be so compelling that you would be picked regardless of your association with vevmo? Yes, but my educated guess as one who has done reality casting is that no one posting here at present has sufficient gravitas to be selected. Some may find that harsh, but I do read carefully what people write and draw inferences about personality from the comments. I'd love to be wrong, but my experience tells me I won't be.
I understand, but at the end of the day they're casting directors not ultra hackers. How are they supposed to figure out if someone is on vevmo? It'll be pretty tough unless your first and last name is your username or you somehow expose yourself, which would be stupid in the first place if you're interested in auditioning. I've never tried out for rw nor will I, just thought I'd post though.
]Come on now, maybe you have a sixth sense but there is no way you could see more than 10% of a persons personality based on text they have wrote about a tv show. Having said that there is one person on here that I think would make a good cast member, I won't say his/her name but they if they have the looks then they would fly through the auditions.
Well, perhaps that is why I've been in/around the reality genre since it began. I first began working in TV and radio in 1969.
I understand, but at the end of the day they're casting directors not ultra hackers. Posting here that "I'm trying out for RW" combined with one's first name or some small identifying feature is enough to raise suspicion. You will be asked about your internet habits. It's amazing what an intelligent person can discern from very little information. Just ask molds13 where much of her information about people comes from.
Hmm... From what I have been reading from the post everyone has been writing about, I don't think BMP is that harsh when there are looking to cast people. For example, the Bad Girls Club. Most of the girls that get cast on there aren't like extravagant nor are they really bad. (Hence that girl from the Vegas season who left within the 36 hours)

That's a win in my book, knowing I don't come off like Frank or Zach.
Wasn't Evelyn an active Reality Zone/Speak Reality member before being cast on Fresh Meat. I'm pretty sure she was.

Heard she was on tubescan. They all said she was when she got cast, also said she had gender reassignment surgery.
Heard she was on tubescan. They all said she was when she got cast, also said she had gender reassignment surgery.
Oh´Come on, that total bullocks! Despite all the jokes about how manlike she can be sometimes, she´s got very feminine features..
Heard she was on tubescan. They all said she was when she got cast, also said she had gender reassignment surgery.
That was SR for you. They as in OTC and Douglyz were merely joking when they had said that and it was not cool. And I had no idea Evelyn went as far back as Tubescan. That's awesome. I used to be on Tubescan as well. I remember hearing the Evelyn rumors too. Didn't remember if it was from there or Speak Reality.
I find even repeating old rumors which are completely untrue to be outrageous and highly objectionable. I've spent most of a Saturday in a hospital emergency room with Evelyn and her docs, and know most relevant details of her medical history from that experience. The rumors are sick, malicious and, in my opinion, libelous. When I was a moderator here, I booted a couple of people who decided to repeat those rumors.
It may be libelous but its a joke. People shouldn't be faulted for a silly prank. LMAO.
I used to be on Tubescan as well. I remember hearing the Evelyn rumors too. Some people need a sense of humor though I'm not agreeing with it.

Such out of control thinking was one of the reasons that SR died the death it did. Vevmo has always maintained higher standards.
1) They have NDAs. 2) We're not David Leech. 3) They need to trust people more
The maximum level of irony has been reached in this thread, thus it shall be closed. Milo Frontel, shoot me a PM so I can buy you a beer. You've put together one of the longest, relevant threads on Vevmo. Unfortunately, today it had to be put down. p.s. Yes, I will award you the crown of "best fake plausible name ever." 1/25/2013 Edit: Ok, I am going to reopen the thread now that we have had the necessary cooling off period.
So what WOULD you recommend putting in your audition tape. Five minutes is short...what did you do? A story? About you? I'm trying to figure out the flow for it
If I was ever to apply I would just, say my name, where I'm from, my age and then finally why I want to be on the show. 1 minute. Short and Sweet. Pretty sure I'd catch their attention with that and then I would inevitably find myself in a new city a couple of months later.

Well....the video is supposed to be like 5 min at least I think. So if the casting producers feel you can't keep them entertained for more than one minute they will probably pass. They don't care too much about why you want to be on the show but more about what makes you interesting as a person. Maybe if you are super hot and amazing in your one minute you might get a call, unlikely though z
Show what makes you different. Plain and simple. Don't just sit in front of the camera and start talking.

I totally ruin my whole entire life in the process though, I just know me and reality TV would not mix well, at least not I'm my favor.
I remember reading they wanted the tapes to be 5-10 minutes or something

Yeah if you make a one minute tape you're not getting on. Plus theres quite a few thousand who apply every year who are certain they'd get on.
It's important to state that they don't cast reality fans or MTV Viewers. That's why they show pictures of past cast members. They want people totally uninstructed about media.

I think you guys didn't get it. Well, almost 90% of reality shows employ mactors. It's no secret that almost all Portland Real Worlders stated in interviews that they never watched the show before. In RW Portland, five (Anastasia, Averey, Joi, Jessica, Nia) of the eight cast members were aspiring models. Then they'll cast people with unique stories like Ryan Conklin and Katelynn Cusanelli. Those are not MTV viewers. Katelynn told that she was dragged by her best friend to the casting call. Ryan said in an interview that he was approached by some of the casting people when he was at a bar one night in Pittsburgh. Then we have people like Lori Trespicio from Back to New York and, yes, she was a RW fan and watched all seasons before BTNY, but it's an exception and producers know that regular viewers don't make a good show.
