The further delay may mean some layoffs at BMP. They can't keep that army of support people sitting around doing nothing in Van Nuys.
Well, like I said to Bacchus in the chatbox, with all of the 'casting issues' and location changes, and filming being moved up, doesn't seem like we're off to a good start this season.....
If it films in September, it will be in lockstep with The Real World Hollywood (SEPT-DEC.) Not sure what that means as far a a promised January launch as that was said back when it was expected they would be filming in June...

**shakes her fist at BMP**
no one wants to come to NYC in august. it's too **** hot and humid.

That would shorten the time period between the end of The Island and Brooklyn's premiere.

I have a feeling the house is a combination of Seattle meets Denver (with the gated opening). Anyone agree?

From Gawker.com :
Real World: Brooklyn moving to Red Hook Ruh roh. The dreaded Real World: Brooklyn is on the move again. The Brooklyn Paper reports today that due to slow renovations at the BellTel lofts, the downtown BK building that MTV had originally eyed as housing for the seven vodka-infused strangers, the producers have settled on a new spot. Now the cast will likely be housed at Pier 41 in Red Hook, already the home of the legendary Fairway grocery store and the new, megalopolis IKEA. (IKEA has furnished the RW houses for many a season. Easy moving for the pre-production crew, at least!) “I’d rather have another Ikea,” said a resident when asked about the impending storm of camera crews and drunken braying. Reportedly the exact address of the building is 204 Van Dyke St., so if you live nearby, shutter your windows and blood your doors, because the Lord's wrath is on its way. Luckily, though, you ought to get a pretty clear idea fairly quickly of where the gaggle of idiots will be hanging out, because MTV usually signs preemptive filming waivers from one or two bars/restaurants before shooting so they don't have to worry about getting clearance at a bajillion different places. So find out which two bars those are, and avoid them like the plague for the next six months or so. Come on up to Park Slope in the meantime. We have strollers! And a park! And, uh, a slope!

From Gawker.com :
The location and exact address are accurate. The second floor of the building has been vacant for a while. Instead of a ticked out Penthouse in a new building, we'll get TV set style living in a building on the water facing the onset of fall and early winter in NY -- oh joy! .
2 level penthouse. 8 people. 4 boys. 3 girls. Crazy season. Can't say much more.
Hi, welcome to Vevmo. Source? :) P.S. 4+3=7, not 8
P.S. 4+3=7, not 8
Lol, yea i was thinking that same thing. Typo maybe. :-)
The Belltel location was a two level penthouse, but they are no longer filming the show there - so this does not seem accurate with the updated intel about Pier 41.
2 level penthouse. 8 people. 4 boys. 3 girls. Crazy season. Can't say much more.
"2 level penthouse" = Wrong (but perhaps to some a converted warehouse is a penthouse) "8 people. 4 boys. 3 girls" = Wrong (Ah, the wonders of the American educational system) "Crazy season." = It's entirely possible, but should we let them tape it first? "Can't say much more." = Please don't, unless you have some facts to share not previously posted here. So, beyond the above, welcome to vevmo
"8 people. 4 boys. 3 girls" = Wrong (Ah, the wonders of the American educational system)
I was sitting here thinking...hmm we get someone with Multiple Personality Disorder since it was said that there are 8 people...4 boys, 3 girls, LOL
I was sitting here thinking...hmm we get someone with Multiple Personality Disorder since it was said that there are 8 people...4 boys, 3 girls, LOL
OK, interesting thought. Which one signs the cast contract. Are both covered under the same one, or do they need separate ones? I'm off to Nexus to do some legal research.

I know the cast was initially planned to work with Kevin Powell (from the first RW) Congressional campaign out Brooklyn, hence the casting request for politically active people, but that may be reneged due to the missteps in his campaign of late.
I wonder if they get a cast job if one gets paid and they have to split it, or if each personality gets their own check to cash...can you check on that too?!??
No, if one has a job, that person does not split the money with anyone. MTV may be liberal, but is is still a capitalist enterprise. One person would still be taxed based on the totality of one's earnings. With some many people with whom to share, you could end up owing more to the IRS than your share would be.

A bad political move not worthy of the brain trust that probably thought it up.

Towns, Edolphus---- Dem----22,586-----67% Powell, Kevin-------- Dem----11,046---- 33%
NEW YORK - Longtime Rep. Edolphus Towns has fended off a spirited challenge from a community activist and former "Real World" cast member. The 74-year-old Towns defeated 42-year-old Kevin Powell, who appeared on the first installment of the MTV reality show. Powell sought to paint the congressman as an outdated, out-of-touch representative whom voters should retire after 13 terms. He also sought to position himself as part of a new generation of political activists, seizing on the excitement generated by Barack Obama's historic presidential bid. In response, Towns flexed his own political muscles, calling in favors from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and other top Democrats to show he can still deliver.
