Just a question, but do the ratings for this season matter anymore because the contract was renewed.
It was renewed - for 1 year (2 seasons). It'll be up for renewal after just one more season airs.
Looks like the trend is about 2.1 million viewers. Btw, I honestly liked DC season. That Andrew kid was hilarious! I'm kinda surprised actually that it did so bad. NOLA just sucked. I mean, the only funny/gross thing that happened was the toothbrush/cigarettes/pillow incident. Other than that, it was like watching paint dry.
I agree. I'm happy that this season is doing well but so far every episode has centered around Adam being drunk and him and Nany. It's been very repetitive, so i have no idea why it's doing better. And NOLA was not good at all. Trashy.
Just a question, but do the ratings for this season matter anymore because the contract was renewed.
Ratings play a big role even for this season because MTV only really promotes shows with ads and put them in high rotation when they are happy with the ratings. They abandoned New Orleans and Cancun from week 1 with their ****** ratings.
I predict a drop in ratings. It's 4/20, bad timing.
It's really interesting situation... a) today is 4/20 b) Adam is gone
I predict a drop in ratings. It's 4/20, bad timing.
What? 4/20 is perfect timing. A good chunk of the prime demo will not be able to get off the couch... What better to do than watch crazy people screaming at each other on TV?

Ratings for last night Real World Las Vegas (MTV, 10pm) - 2.015 million viewers - 1.4/2 HH - 1.2/3 A18-49
Nice! I expected a drop due to Adam's departure. I predict a drop due to yesterday's episode being a bit... immature/irritating
I predict a drop due to yesterday's episode being a bit... immature/irritating
Hopefully the insane promo for the rest of the season will bring people back
Dustin's story really pulled in those ratings! Episode 8 Ratings Real World Las Vegas (MTV, 10pm) - 2.530 million viewers - 1.7/3 HH - 1.4/4 A18-49 - 3.0/8 W18-34 - 1.7/7 T12-17 Season highs all over I think.

I thought BMP lost it over the past few years. If anyone knows, has there been any change in the casting people?
via press release: MTV’S “THE REAL WORLD” MOST WATCHED TELECAST IN THREE YEARS New York, NY – April 28, 2011 – MTV’s “The Real World” had its most watched telecast in three years, averaging over 2.5 million total viewers on Wednesday, April 27. The series was #1 in its time period across all TV among P12-34, which marked the franchise’s best delivery in over two years in the demo. In next week’s episode of “The Real World: Las Vegas” airing Wednesday, May 4, the aftermath of Dustin’s Frat Pad scandal sends Heather into Nany’s arms. Meanwhile, Cooke sets her sights on Dustin’s best friend, and Naomi and Leroy are in the middle of a pregnancy scare.
TVByTheNumbers
A failing grade for cast member behavior usually results in better ratings.
That it has spurred along more interesting conversations about issues not discussed as in depth here at other times evidences to me that this season's bad behavior is, at least, a little better quality bad behavior than in other recent seasons.
That it has spurred along more interesting conversations about issues not discussed as in depth here at other times evidences to me that this season's bad behavior is, at least, a little better quality bad behavior than in other recent seasons.
That's probably an accurate assessment, but I wonder what the ratings would have been if Nany, Heather or Dustin had immediately called a house meeting where there had been a very long, thoughtful discussion of the issues at hand. Lower perhaps?

It wasn't the quality of the episode that brought in the ratings, it was the preview of it... (waiting to be proven wrong by V1Man as usual LOL)

(waiting to be proven wrong by V1Man as usual LOL)
Not a chance... :) It's quite logical to surmise that a majority of the @ 500,000 additional viewers last night watched as a result of the preview or other word of the episode online, etc. The hypothetical I'm pondering is if the episode would have attracted any interest if not for the precise cast reactions people have criticized in the other threads. Reasoned discourse (or no discussion at all to please those who think Dustin's prior acts were no one's business) likely draws only core, die-hard fans to the episode. Thoughtful reality shows usually barely last an entire season before being canned.
Didn't find it boring, but it clearly was not as dramatic as the previews made it seem like it would be.
That's one of the reasons that previews exist. To make someone watch and clearly the previews did their job ;)
That's one of the reasons that previews exist. To make someone watch and clearly the previews did their job ;)
But there are only so many times you can get away with advertising steak and delivering hamburger before the ads become ineffective.

think that next week's ratings will be much worse. For me, it was the most boring episode from all season. Dustin looked just... So fake.
You always have something negative to say about the show don't you? If you don't like it then don't watch.
What are you talking about? Because I dont find it entertaining that a gay ******** is revealed I immediately don't like the show? This season isn't that good... sorry I know crap when I see it.
You always have something negative to say about the show don't you? If you don't like it then don't watch.
Whether I agree or disagree, I always appreciate SPK713's commentary. I think you are a being little too agressive in this instance, my friend. :sadwalk:
This season isn't that good... sorry I know crap when I see it. :sarcastic_hand:
Hey, this is reality tv were talking about. No one is going to win a Nobel Prize for this stuff.
I thought the episode was very good, I was captivated by it, not at all bored. I think this season is fantastic so far.
I thought the episode was very good, I was captivated by it, not at all bored. That this cast has a ton more twitter followers than anybody from other seasons, including recent ones, I think a lot of people are vibing on this.
Smoke n mirrors IMO Is this season really all that good? Other than Adam going crazy & ''that gay **** guy''. What has happened in the season? It's just them locked in a hotel room with each other and going to the same club over and over.
