Oh I haven't applied, I was just wondering if they check application emails and audition tapes on a constant basis and keep people they are interested in or if they don't really check applicants out unless it is in their time frame for casting the next season. Just curious!

Most likely yeah but don't be presistent or they'll throw it out.

We need to keep the Canada hype going. The producers run of fresh ideas so they usually frequent message boards for new ones. So let's keep pushing for a season in Canada and maybe we will get one soon.
I'm going to apply later this week, most likely I'll be cast.
There's an 8 in 15,000 ratio in the casting process. And if you're serious about getting on then you should probably stop posting on this board now as you will be disqualified should you actually make it to semi-finals....which only 80 to 120 people do.
is there a way for them to know you post on here besides you telling them?
Not really. If you are using a well obfuscated user name (i.e. NOT your actual name or something you use on other sites that will lead to your real name) and don't post personal information, you should be fine. Just use digression. Don't say something to the effect of, "Oh ya, I went to that casting call in NY at 10:15 AM on August 11th. I was the only gay person there from New Jersey that went to Princeton. I felt short. I am 5'5" and weight 145 pounds. The good news is that I think that pink dye in my hair set me apart...."

LA? Nooo.
Wait, but if someone had used their real name on here, would their chances be totally shot? Or like what if they only posted a few times? Just wondering, of course haha!
Im going to try my hardest to be a Real Worlder next season so wish me luck and if you have any pointers or help to offer it would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck everyone! :).
this is a rumor i heard through BMP/Talpa blogsite but actual casting call's in different cities for season 24 start september through novemberish - once the DC cast finishes their taping. I mean that would make sense and then filming for season 24 would be in january like cancun was. And announce what city or location in december. But they will release the cities and when they are going to be holding audtions. Another blog site I was reading told me producers have looked at the following cities for season 24 = atlanta, houston , islands (like jamaica i believe?)

They need to do a RW: Puerto Rico!
They need to do a RW: Puerto Rico!
i agree, but i kinda doubt theyll do cancun and puerto rico so close to each other with only dc in between
They should go back to Hawaii(: That would be AWESOME!
They should go back to Hawaii(: That would be AWESOME!
RW24: Back to Hawaii would definitely be awesome.
I'm going to audition for RW 24. I'm not too worried, but I heard that some people send them emails and they get either VIP passes to skip lines OR they get a private interview with a casting director...if that's true, wat do u put in the email? On a side note, Real World Puerto Rico would be AWESOME. Barbados or Jamaica wouldn't be bad either
Real World Worrthy Islands Are Maui ,San Juan AND everything else are too eotic and should be saved for the challenges
Sorry, I have yet another random question! (I am always just interested in the casting process/how it works!) Anyway, on to the question: It might sound stupid, because of cast members selected like Jonna & Derek, Emilee & Joey, and Chet & Baya, but if someone auditioning has a similar background as someone else that is either also auditioning for that season or has been on a past recent season, do they automatically have a mark against them in being cast? Like, not backstory-wise or personality-wise, but like where they live or go to school? Obviously, it shows that if you are basically perfectly who they want you will be picked, as seen in the people mentioned above, but I mean, like i, for example, someone on season x was from Raleigh, NC and goes to UNC, and then someone for the exact next season, y, lived in the same city and goes to the same school, would that matter? Like would they already have one strike? Wow, sorry that was REALLY long! When I type, it seems to just be overflow of all my thoughts on the topic haha! But if someone could answer this question for me that would be awesome! Thanks!
well I'd love to audition but i'm not of age. I'm 15 so maybe in about 3 years.

I think as long as they have an interesting personality that MTV could benefit from, they have a chance at getting chosen. On Real World 3, I believe Puck and Mohammed were both from San Francisco and thought I haven't watched Cancun, wikipedia says that Jonna is from Tempe, AZ like Brittni of Real World Hollywood.

I went to a casting call in october for the cancun season and didnt get a call back. then in february i was bored and emailed them from the bunim-murray signt. a month later i got an email from them congratulating me and letting me know i have been chosen to attend a private casting call. i missed the audition because i got the email late. i have heard other people who have applied tell me then they have emailed them and then like 6 months later get emailed back lettin them know they get a vip pass. one of my other friends made it to about round 3 or 4 in the casting process but didnt make it, then they were emailed months later about gettin a vip pass. i have no idea how long production keeps your information from an email. i wonder if i will get another email back from them inviting me to another casting call. anyway i wouldnt email them until you know where the first open casting calls are. this way you at least know they are beginning the casting process =]

I don't know what to put in my email, because it's brief so I can't just write on and on, but i dunno i'll figure it out i guess. If anything i'll go to open casting, the whole tape audition is too much.
