Can anyone PLEASE explain to me the whole drama between Emily and Veronica (BOTS1)? I know it's old but it still confuses me because the show does not explain the whole situation. The show only "claims" that Veronica had slept with Emilys boyfriend in the past and thats why Emily has animosity towards Veronica but it seems that there is more to the story. Anne, Christina, Ayanna, and Genesis all want Veronica GONE so more must have happened. They made "emily" the villian although they did not really clarify the whole situation.
No one ever said Veronica slept with James--in fact, Veronica denied it at the reunion while admitting she slept with Eric Nies on the show. Ayanna said in her interview that they "fooled around," but Melissa was firm about the fact that she was Veronica's closest friend in Jamaica, and that Veronica had never told her any such thing. It wasn't clearly edited, IMO. They definitely made Emily into the villain--and she gave them plenty to work with--but they also showed that the other girls Emily claimed disliked Veronica did, in fact, dislike Veronica for reasons seemingly unrelated to Emily. Veronica and Emily also had issues already from BOTSeasons, where the inner circle with Emily sent Veronica home on the first vote. In the end, it's hard to tell exactly what happened, but my guess is that both Emily and Veronica were at fault. Emily just won the batte by getting Veronica sent home before Veronica could get Emily sent home.
Hmm...Lori was very unsure about Veronica and James but said it probably happened and if it did, it shouldn't matter cause that was pre-emily. It was odd that Anne wanted to eliminate Veronica so early on (Episode 2), when she was in the inner circle. I think there is so much unseen footage of Veronica possibly showing attitude or saying mean things to some of the girls. Christina (RR: Down Under) said "She says mean things to people" and Anne replies by saying "She is a BAD person". In the Gauntlet 1 which was right after battle of the sexes, a lot of people didn't like Veronica (as usual). and Sarah said her in interview "Very few people like Veronica...She has been nothing but freakishly manipulative during this whole process". Veronica actually brought up Emilys name the first time she got in the inner circle (Episode 4) BUT James had the ion lifesaver so they couldn't send her home. It's funny because in "battle of the seasons" veronica said she wouldn't hold any grudges towards the inner circle who sent her home, but she clearly is. Emily actually also brought up Veronica's name every single time she was in the inner circle (as said by Lori) although they don't show it. This is why i wish they had "challenge dailies" for these old challenges. Cause the dailies show so many unseen/unedited footage.

I was just getting into the challenges during battle of the sexes so I can't help you there. All I really remember is Puck's wedding being played over and over on MTV.
But it was rumored that something might have happened between Veronica and James when he helped her move. I think that's what jhl was saying - pointed out that it was claimed instead of saying it was the truth. Emily was obviously insecure, though, when it came to her relationship with James. She made some comment about all the girls walking around looking sexy in bathing suits. And she didn't want him to do the mission in which they would have to get naked if they got the questions wrong. Not saying I think she shouldn't have been upset with that challenge, but it could indicate further insecurity with her. The other girls having problems with Veronica - Ayanna had her own issues with Veronica in the past from their RR season (Veronica plagiarized her paper, they had drama over other stuff). Anne, Christina, and Genesis were the group of girls Emily hung out with while she was there, so perhaps they saw Emily's side of things and didn't like Veronica because of that. Maybe Ayanna told them some stuff about her. Or maybe they themselves just saw sides of Veronica they didn't like - I don't think that would be too hard to happen. Notice all of them but Genesis are RR girls, though. Perhaps they'd heard about her in the RR circle or something. I don't know. For me, a big reason Emily looked like a villain was because on the previous challenge - Battle of the Seasons - she was in the inner circle that voted Veronica and Yes off first, when they were the next highest team up next to the inner circle. She said she felt pressured to be in Chadwick's alliance and vote off the next stronger team, and she put it all on him and acted like she was innocent. So it was very surprising that she was willing to do the same thing again, to the same person, without someone "pressuring" her into it. Veronica can obviously rub some people the wrong way, and she has done shady and manipulative stuff. Emily has also been manipulative and I would actually credit her as one of the people who took the game to a "shady" level, before Veronica even did. Though these arguments could be Veronica biased because they were her friends, if you haven't read Melissa and Lori's accounts of the situation, I would suggest you read them. Perhaps it could give you a bit more possible insight into what could have happened to cause the situation. Wow. Melissa's take was hilarious and well written. :)
Veronica had nothing to do with James. He just helped her move. People just want those two to be together.
Veronica had nothing to do with James. He just helped her move. People just want those two to be together.
I don't think it's that. At least, for me, I didn't have a vested interest in Veronica and James being together. I don't think other people were necessarily rooting for them to be together either. I knew he and Emily were together from Battle of the Seasons, and that's all I knew. I don't think there was ever a connection between Veronica and James that was established on any shows or challenges before, or that was known by the viewers. At least not that I can remember. I was a viewer just watching the show when it aired and this thing was brought up. I think it's just that a rumor was thrown out there through the show/cast members, and that's the only explanation that was really given as a possibility, or, at least, the explanation that seemed to be possible given some of the things Emily said and did (i.e. the sexy girls comment). So that's why it is discussed.
According to Veronica, when she spoke at "Noma". CT hooked up with Shane...?!! I'm actually not too surprised because I knew some of the "straight" guys on the challenges hooked up with him as said by Colin too. Tonya had/has herpes and CT had a belly button ring?! hahahahhaa.

Veronica's Facebook, in a picture back in 2007. At I think I was a college talk. There's also a short Youtube video of Rachel and Veronica talking about smack about Tonya at a college talk and they made a hookup chart of all the cast members to show how easily an STD can spread (not saying that any of the cast members have an STD).

I remember Veronica making a "they at least kissed" hookup chart for an I2 aftershow in a game she played with Blair, and I found that very interesting. I was pausing it to see what all she wrote, and I was surprised to see that Blair seemed to be quite the ladies man - among people cast around the same time as him and the ladies who were newer at the time.
the youtube clip was just them making fun of Tonya at a college talk. YouTube - road rulers The hook-up chart isn't on youtube. Veronica talks about it in an interview, you can just google it. The whole topic at the college talk was about STD's so Veronica brought up a chart which had like castmembers names and faces and like arrows going in different directions with whom they hooked up with...very revealing..i wish i went they'd come to my school.
Tonya does not now have and has never had an STD. I find the entire discussion revolting.
What Veronica was probably referring to with Tonya was cold sores. I remember her saying on an I2 aftershow that Tonya was running around asking people what to do about the "herpes on her lip." As told by Veronica. A cold sore is not an STD. People who have never been sexually active can get them. You can see CT's belly button ring during I2. There were a few people that season with belly button rings.
I remember Veronica saying that on the I2 after show too ugh.... She picked on Tonya way too much to the point of lies I guess??
CT and Shane? Whoa, I need a source. Lol
YES! This is what i have been searching for all night! I just watched the season with Emily vs veronica and could never understand it. I dont know if it was the editing or its really her, but Emily came off super bad in this season. I couldnt stand her by the 4th episode and hope to never see her on another challenge again. She talked a lot of talk and then quit when her boyfriend got sent home? I hated the girls by the end of this season. Ruthie was so passive and Ellen, ugh, i wont even go there. Has anyone else besides G ever been voted off 3 times in a row? as for CT/Shane... wow. Seems like fanfic to me, but stranger things have happened. I bet there are a lot of secret hookups in general on these shows. Isnt there a night where the cameras dont film them?

But I think it was crazy that she quit at the end. It makes me think she was only there for James and not to compete. Who is G? I know Danny from Austin has been voted 3 times in a row.

I'm assuming G is Genesis...on Battle of the Sexes 1 she was voted off three times in a row. The first time she was saved by the lifesaver, the second time Emily quit instead, and the third time she actually left. As Lori said, "Would you just leave already??"

I dont remember it at all. Also, by the last 5 episodes BotS1 was lame. They really should have bent the rules and let Veronica stay. Im sure they have done far worse.

I didn't know you were talking just about BOTS1. I thought you were asking if anyone ever got voted off/eliminated 3 times in a row on challenges in general. On BOST1, I really liked the guys' approach to elimination. They just voted you off if you were at the bottom. No alliances.

Emily was a killer competitor! she started out in the bottom of the scoreboard cause of Rachel, but ended up getting into the inner circle within 4 missions! The fact that Emily got a DQ (0 points) later on and got back into the inner circle AGAIN within 2 missions is crazy. It was very weird to see Veronica as the "victim". I think that it was all editing and that she was the same 'ol Veronica but BMP just wanted a victim into the mix. In the Gauntlet 1, which was right after BOTS, Sarah wrote on her blog that they choose not to show footage of Veronica acting rude for some reason. And that most people's judgement of Veronica comes from "behind-the-scenes". There was probably a lot of footage in BOTS that you didn't see of Veronica acting shady and mean.
It was very weird to see Veronica as the "victim". I think that it was all editing and that she was the same 'ol Veronica but BMP just wanted a victim into the mix.
The setup was kind of there from BOTSeasons, though, if you think about it. Veronica was eliminated the first episode even though her and Yes did well. So she sort of was a "victim" then. And Emily was one of the people from the alliance that got rid of Veronica and Yes. She later in the challenge claimed she didn't want to do it and that Chadwick roped them all into doing it. Then on BOTS Veronica was being gunned for again and Emily had something to do with it once more. And with the scoreboard showing how well people were doing, it made it look bad.
Yes, im sure editing did play big role in V coming off as a victim, because im sure she still was same old veronica along the way and we didnt see it, i dont think editing was the only thing that made her come off as a victim. It was obvious Emily was personally gunning for her, and had done so in the past i think. I cant stand Emily, and i hate that passive Ruthie & Ellen were always in the inner circle with her. I also think the fact that Veronica didnt gun for Emily when she was in the inner circle was a bad move on her part, but she was playing the game the right way i think. She learned.
