Green Bay is lighting it up.
I love the idea of a pure run offense with Webb and Peterson, but that was bottled up after the first drive. It doesn't look good for Minnesota. Webb is awful throwing the ball. Horrible. Like, Tebow bad.

I couldn't agree more. One could play a drinking game with the number of skipped passes.

Those first half passes were horrible. A foot or two in front of the receivers. He's getting a bit better on this latest drive, but only because the Packers are playing the "KILL AP" defense.
Edit: Fumble death.
Joe Webb was horrible. He made some exciting plays with his feet, but he cannot throw the ball to save his life. The strangest moment of the game was the final play of the first half when Joe Webb, who has a cannon for an arm, went for the checkdown pass instead of throwing it into the endzone, and he underthrows the wide open receiver by 5 yards.
What a great weekend of football! Looking forward to the AFC/NFC Championship games next week...
The Patriots are heavy favorites in the AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens.
The opening betting line pegged the Patriots as 10-point favorites, but it has dropped to 9.5 points, according to VegasInsider.com.
The San Francisco 49ers are 3.5-point favorites over the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship.
That Patriots-Ravens spread is way too high. The Ravens always play the Patriots close. The last time the Patriots won a game by more than 6 points against the Ravens was in 2004, when the Patriots were in the middle of their dynasty and the Ravens had Kyle Boller as their QB.
I can't help but feel like the Pats are sneaking up on everyone this year. They've had almost no coverage at all outside of various injuries and that's probably because at this point, everyone just expects them to be in the playoffs/SB. They're the same-old same-old solidly above-average team with absolutely nothing interesting to talk about (whereas the other teams are all about Ray-ray, gonzo+matty ice's first win, rookie QB spectacle, etc).
I'm not looking forward to them winning (I'm predicting they will) mostly because outside of the NE area, the rest of us will be left shaking our heads going 'Yuuuup, they did it again'.

We haven't won any type of major sports championship since 2011. WE ARE SUFFERING UP HERE!
I think the Patriots will beat the Ravens in a close one, but with Colin Kaepernick's star shining bright, I think the 49'ers have to be the overall favorites right now. This should be Matt Ryan's year being he has "domefield advantage" right through the Superbowl, but they just survived by the skin of their teeth on Sunday and I don't see it happening for them next Sunday.
Certainly all 4 teams have some things going for them and have the potential to take it all, but experience and poise can't be understated and the Pats have both in abundance.
No remaining team interests me, so I'm out until RG#3 is back in the saddle.
No remaining teams interest you? All 4 teams that are left have some big story lines. Were you out when Washington lost, or did you stay in until another team lost this past weekend? There has to be a storyline that can intrigue you, unless you are just a Redskins fan.

I have more general interests than time. The NFL is only a diversion for me. I have season tickets to the Skins (for decades) and also follow the Broncos since I also live in Colorado. Beyond those two teams, the NFL doesn't warrant my time compared to other interests.

how bout that Ravens v Broncos game last week ;)
Ravens-49ers Superbowl this year, but the bigger story is prop bets. These are my favorite odds for those of you that live in places where gambling is legal:
Superbowl MVP:
Ray Rice: +1000 (49ers have a really good run D, but he is too good to not take at these odds)
Patrick Willis: +2500
NaVorro Bowman: +2500 (2 All Pro inside linebackers at 25-1 odds each is too good to pass up)
Will A Team score in the last 2 minutes of the first half:
Yes: -260 (not great odds, but it is free money. In 8 of the 10 playoff games, there was a score in the last 2 minutes of the first half)
First Touchdown:
Michael Crabtree: +1000 (Good odds for the best WR in the game)
Anquan Boldin: +1200 (49ers Run Defense is exceptional, and they do a great job at covering the TEs. Torrey Smith is also a big play guy and not as reliable in the redzone)
Margin of Victory:
49ers to win by 18-21 points: +1500 (I can easily see the 49ers winning by 3 TDs against the Ravens if Kaepernick goes off like he did against the Packers)
Ravens win by 1-3 points: +650 (Best odds I like for if you think the game will be close. The reason I like the Ravens and not 49ers if the game is close is because Justin Tucker has been really good all year while Akers has struggled.)
More prop bets coming later in the week. All of these odds were from bleacher report.
I've really been let down by football this year for some reason. Could be that I've been super busy and what not, and that the Titans completely suck, but I'm not even looking forward to the Superbowl commercials. That's how off this season has been for me. There was maybe 1 great commercial last year (thanks to Doritos), but the past few years have been disappointing.
However, I was happy to see the Patriots bite the bullet. Sorry, B :D

No worries. Being in the Superbowl 6 times in 15 years gets a bit old, you know what I mean? Oh, never mind. :wink2:

p.s. As much as it pains me, I am pulling for the AFC in New Orleans.

Looks like the Cowboys and Steelers are still the 2 most popular teams in the country. I also like how there is only 1 tiny area of New York (I think it is Queens) that has the Jets as their favorite team.
More prop bets:
Will Alicia Keys forget or omit at least one word from the National Anthem?
No -300
Free money. She won't forget or omit a word from the National Anthem after the debacle last year.
Will Beyonce be joined by Jay-Z on stage at halftime of the Super Bowl Show?
Yes +110
Region with higher ratings:
Baltimore -150
If Ray Lewis is interviewed after the game on the field or in the locker room how many times will he mention "God/Lord"?Over/Under 3: Over
I am not sure if a 0 was omitted, but this is the most free your money can get, unless Ray Lewis works the bookies and deliberately goes under.
I plan on watching the commercials this year as I haven't a cat in the fight not to mention both teams this year are very boring.
How are both of these teams boring? I am just curious as to why you think they are boring.
Maybe I'm alone but I just never really dug either teams. I just they are kinda sorry. Plus there's no way they should be having the big game all to themselves however they did earn it so beggers can't be choosers. Maybe "boring" was a stretch. In short I'll be going back to watching the Super Bowl next year.

Funny you mention this because in the interview I was watching 30 minutes ago he actually did that. It seems he's very cocky too, or unless that last part came from Randy Moss who basically insulted Jerry Rice.

I don't understand how you think they are sorry teams. SF was the 2 seed in the NFC and finished with 4 losses in the toughest division in football (based on each divisions out of record division) while Baltimore was the 4 Seed in the AFC and won on the road against the 1 and 2 seeds. I can understand you not having interest in either team, but you should still try to watch the game. Kaepernick is amazing to watch with his speed and cannon for an arm, and Joe Flacco has been the best QB of the playoffs.
Congrats to the Ravens.

For those of you that live places where gambling is legal, if you put $10 on each of my prop bets, you ended up making around $71, possibly more depending on the result of the local TV ratings.
