Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir is in the works for UFC 107. Mir has already returned to training, and while he says he hasn't been formally approached with the fight, he is open to it. Mir is coming off of a loss at UFC 100 to Brock Lesnar, while Kongo is coming off of a UFC 99 loss to Cain Velasquez. UFC 107, which takes place on Dec. 12th at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, will be headlined by Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Rashad Evans.
In my opinion, It'll be interesting to see how Mir fairs when it comes to the clinch position. Kongo's knees are vicious and have one knee KO power. However, Mir has been known to stand up and bang it out with his opponents. I think however, if Mir can take it to the ground, he will have a bit of an advantage over Kongo seeing that Mir is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Kongo was once considered to be a contender for the Heavyweight crown. However the loss to Cain Velasquez has pushed him back, considering that he was dominated on the ground by Cain's wrestling ability. My prediction is that Mir will win over Kongo, and get one step closer to a rematch against Lesnar.
:( I guess no one on here likes MMA. Anyways,
